  1. A really good letter. I like that he comes off as honestly conflicted. One douchey point: congratulates the other artists, but not the members of GNR who are accepting their induction. Not a big deal, but a little bit of a rib to those guys. Can't shake the feeling that Steven running his mouth ruined a good thing here.

Steven didn't ruin it.. Truth be told Axls a pussy.. He's too scared to reunite with the guys just to accept an award.. I thought he would have manned up.. Not the case..

Steven didn't ruin shit.. Axls said worse.. Don't forget.

  2. Alot of you douches out here over analyze, freak out then blab all types of crap and your stupid thoughts..

Nobody knows what's going to happen, so stop generating more speculation than there really is..

Slash says axl hates my guts.. Your interpretation of it is " he's ruining it!! It's slashes fault axl won't show!!" god damn idiots..

    1: axl hasn't said anything

2: since when was it bad that slash is stating what's already obvious?? Slash didn't call slash a cancer.. Axl did!

Plus alot of your stupid speculations led most of you to believe axl might be cool with slash, since the cancer comments?? Since when did axl say anything positive about slash since??

So if you think slashs words are to blame?

You think Stevens comments are to blame?

You think izzys lack of interest is to blame?

Nobody knows shit, not even the guys who were in gnr know.. So what the hell would you know?? Most of you are over analyzing and making up your own fantasy/ stories..

  3. I'm going to get assraped by everyone here, but here goes..

A majority of the instrumentals for Chinese democracy were awesome.. Axls voice however.. Well I don't think his style/voice was suited for some of it.. Everyone might kick me now, but I thought if the world was great as an instrumental.. Then axl came in with his voice and buttraped the song.. But then there were songs like sorry, which blew me away.. Then again. Not every song on uyi 1,2 was a masterpiece either..

  4. Why anyone is blaming slash or axl for something that isn't wrong.. I don't see the issue guys.. Are the hater/blamers here a bunch of 13 year old girls?? Seriously.. You are blaming one or the other person for not wanting to play in an event that they never asked for...

Whooopdifuckingdoodaa!! Why is it anyone's fault that they don't want to play??!?? Since when was that decision a wrong one??? sorry if they ruined your fantasy, but Jesus Christ... They dont give you an answer - you get upset.. They give you an answer... Sorry let me rephrase that .. They give you an answer that you didn't want to hear - you get upset..

  5. New GNR was the Axl and Bucket show as far as I'm concerned. I don't give a fuck about ever hearing a new album written by the current touring lineup. I'd fire the whole band today if it meant that Buckethead would come back.

    This ^^^^^^^

After seeing Finck on stage (via youtube/ and photos) it's hard not to want him back and bucket. Maybe its a little nostalgia, but god damn Axl was onto something special 10 years ago.

The thing that Bucket and Robin gave the band was a new direction! They were in my opinion the key to moving out of the shadow of the AFD lineup. Maybe not in terms of commercial success but certainly in creating a new sound distinct enough from the old band to get them recognition as a band in their own right. I like the new guys but they're too close in style and image to the old guys for my liking.

Here's the thing I don't get and I stress with people.. If you want a "new different sound" then go find a different band.. Because axl will always be compared to his past guns n roses.. There is nothing he can do to escape it, if he's still running with the gnr name..

  6. Frank is ok, like him better than Brain. He reminds me of Sorum, does his job well, with no surprises. He can never seem to get the intro on Brownstone right though:P

To me, Sorum brought power, passion and a hard intense driving sound. Yeah Frank's Brownstone intro is bloody terrible.

To me, Sorum brought sub-standard rock beats and moronic drummer faces. To each their own I guess.

in all honesty though, they all are great drummers.. frank has a great groove to his playing.. he's got the technical skill and groove..

I know sorums drums on the illusions sounded somewhat boring.. but i think you have to keep in mind that he's just joined a new band @ the time.. i don't feel like he would have had enough time to create the chemistry in time for recording the illusions.. there wasn't enough time.. like only now frank is starting to really stand out. and thats because of years of being in the band.. for the illusion recordings, i don't feel sorum had enough time to make it sound like chemistry was there.. that shit takes time with most bands. i know it took time for two of the bands i was in to start sounding like a real band..

If you listen to sorums drumming with vr, its obvious he's gotten the chemistry with duff and slash.. if he played like that on the illusions you wouldn't really think that sorum is a boring drum machine.. it's far from the truth..

  7. I can't believe more people aren't talking shit about Dizzy's little comment on how he feels the current version of Guns N' Roses is the best lineup he's ever been in.

This son of a bitch has really been running off at the mouth lately. He needs to know his role, which is to play his little keyboard, and shut the fuck up.

Dizzy was in the lineup that included the original members, the guys who built the legend and wrote the music that made the name famous.

He's been saying some blasphemous shit lately. I guess that's who he's stuck around all this time. Another drone.

best in his eyes.. it would make sense for him though.. he was in gnr during the turbulent times.. so it would make perfect sense for him to say that man.

  8. in all honesty.. if the "leftovers" of chinese democracy still exist.. im sure they can't be that good if they didn't make the cut for the first album..

if they had hit material they would have released it by now.. all they have is a bunch of b-side songs and a collection of riffs and beats..

i doubt.. HIGHLY doubt anythings been put together because the way these guys make a song is so complex.. it's not rocket science.. its fucking music..

everything on chinese democracy felt like the songs were just cut and pasted, sounded like nothing was in place at all.. its like they recorded a chorus in 1996 and decided to put it to a verse of something they recorded in 2004

    did not make sense..

you are wrong. The best is yet to come.

mate, i wish i could agree with you there.. but ive been here a while, reading news and all that stuff.. and all we have is a album which quite clearly is the writers block of axl rose.. nothing on chinese democracy sounded organic/natural.. Chinese took so much longer to make than the uyi/afd stuff and it couldnt come close to the power of that.. i feel like it was an album which had lots of great ideas.. then rushed when it was all put together unfortunately :/

i wish that i could hear the best stuff like you say there will be, but i have very little faith in that..

however i do enjoy being on this forum and reading the news, and reading peoples opinions..

  10. actually i take back what i said.. everyone has off days.. even if you put 100% into rehersals and whatnot.. all it takes is ONE stuff up and the rest of the night can be screwed.. i dont think its like axl doesn't care, infact i think the exact opposite.. i think he cares so much that when he stuffed up.. it just ruined the rest of his night.. the show may have been bad.. but lets just give the guy a break here.. we all screw up.. you know out of ten shows that gnr do, maybe 2-3 will be bad.. so lets not get too worked up here..

axls still the man, it was just an off night..

  11. hmmm...maybe so that they can still play to big arenas ... and headline big festivals ... and still be able to make records with big distribution deals ...

those are just a few of the perks of being with [new] GnR

BAHAHAHA why would the old gnr boys want to play with something like that.. very VERY poor...

    you have silenced me :)
