chinese democracy was promoted, heavily.. i even saw advertisements on the back of trucks here in sydney!.. they promoted the hell out of it at music stores also, and even internet news sites were buzzing because of this "long awaited album".. axl could have done more on his behalf to promote it, for someone who has apparently got 110% control of the band, i find it hard to believe that someone else is to blame for no video clips, or any self promotion.. so im kinda sitting on the fence here, because of azoffs record also..

Iam also taking axls record into account.. he has a way of blaming others for things when shit goes down, ive seen it many times.. he has never ever taken blame, or responsibility for anything that has gone wrong with gnr.. he's always the first to point fingers.. and never the one to raise his hand when shit hits the fan...

I think the comments Slash made are submimal attacks on Axl and his entourage. I feel he is degrading Axl, Beta, Bach, Jarmo, and Del James. This is unacceptable. Slash better not make anymore Axl comments while promoting his new album. Why doesn't he let the album sell itself like Axl did? You don't see Axl doing these interviews. He only interviews with close friends and that is how it should be. Slash had nothing to do with Guns N' Roses.

You're right, I cant wait for Slash's album(Though the quality is something that still has to be determined), but that doesnt mean that Slash's image, playing style, and who he play's with isn't directly influenced by Perla. Do you think Slash would have been in Guitar Hero, or played with the Pussy Cat Dolls 10 years ago before he married Perla? Lets be honest, Slash himself said that he doesn't enjoy Guitar Hero, he was just in it for the money. VR kicked ass five years ago, I saw them twice, the 07 show was awful, the 04 show was great. Libratad, though not as bad as everyone said, is a awful followup to one of the best albums of the decade.

I am in a minority, but I vastly prefer the singer on Ain't Life Grand to Eric Dover on the first album.

I agree with you. I think the guy on Ain't Life Grand does some pretty solid vocal work. It's a good album. Not a fan of Eric Dover. The music on the album is good, but the vocals are only average.

Eric Dover wipes the floor with Rod Jackson, but the instrumentals on Aint Life Grand are much better than 5 O'Clock.

That first snakepit album is just bland. One song to the next sounds the same, and there's nothing that jumps out of the speakers. I've always been really surprised that Slash couldn't come up with dynamic and dramatic AFD riffage on his own. Izzy seems to be the crucial ingredient.

The string skipping solo on Serial Killer is nice.

the song reminds me (instrumentally) of something that had raw rock from the afd days, but it's a little more complex, from something in the uyi days.. its a perfect medium i think anyways..

Axl's camp claims they were "hearing" reunion calls when there were no such suggestions out there. But by making Axl comment on this "non-existent rumor" - he's in fact created the rumor and managed to paint himself as the bad guy.

As I mentioned earlier - my biggest concern is that Axl is being given misinformation and then being asked to comment on this wrong information. And that's not cool. He needs to hire a professional PR person who will be plugged into everything that's happening in the GNR world and not give him misinformation and bad advice. It makes me sad to see this because I think Axl is a good person with a good heart - but bad advice and poor PR is hurting him and his image.
