  1. Might want one of these for the Hamilton show.

Anyone here going to be traveling from the US to Hamilton for this show? From PA, do you guys think its the closest show? Also worried about the weather at that time - it's January 24.

  2. What do you guys think are the chances of a new CD announced at the same time? Remember what Axl said - same bat time...

It's possible, but Axl seemed like he wanted to tour on Chinese Democracy for a while before thinking about the next album. I think the "same bat time" comment was made under the assumption that they would tour in the summer of 2009. Since that didnt happen, and it looks like a tour is just coming together now, I'd say the earliest we can expect the next album is fall of 2010.

Either way, I'm just glad they're finally going to tour.

    Here's how I see it.

Ideal situation: In three days, a tour is announced, along with a new CD that will be released sometime next year (or alongside the tour). They will tour very little of the old songs, a lot of Chinese Democracy, and some new songs.

What will probably happen: 06/07 tour repeated, with a few new Chinese Democracy songs, and with DJ Ashba instead of Robin.

This would definitely be the ideal situation, I agree. But realistically, there's been 1000 ideal situations for this band to take advantage of over the last 8 years. From this point on, I suggest we expect as little as possible, only being pleasantly surprised on occasion.

Edit: Take this Canadian announcement, for example. Who saw that coming?

Yeah, I know, but you'd think of these times they'd actually take advantage of that "ideal" situation. Instead of just disappointing every time. I'm not saying a repeat 06/07 tour would be bad, but its not the best.

With all due respect, if you would be disappointed by GN'R not announcing a new album release to go along with the tour, the problem isn't with what GN'R is or isn't doing, the problem is with your expectations. There has been no real indication that a new album will come out anytime soon, so to expect otherwise just for the sake of taking advantage of some positive momentum seems a bit a unrealistic to me. I understand that announcing a new album to come out sometime in 2010 while, or between cycles of, touring would be "ideal", but there is no real reason to think that will happen and therefore no real reason to be disappointed.

    Ali

I think another tour of Chinese Democracy would be disappointing. Hell, I'm definitely going to see them either way, but the quote below pretty much sums it up.

I'm sorry, but I see ANOTHER Chinese D tour (without new material) being another failure of epic proportions. This album has been toured twice already. And the first 2 were only able to fill arenas to 50% or less capacity in most venues. It makes no difference that they finally released an album in the meantime. That album had no succesful radio singles and fell off the Billboard within a matter of weeks. Nobody cared. I hope I'm wrong, but unless they release another album (that actually contains songs that people want to hear) I see this tour being aborted within the first couple of months.

This is how I feel. They can't get away with doing the same tour for the third time. It just won't cut it - I'm sure Axl knows that. That's why I have a feeling something will change this time around (well I think its a guarantee that they will be playing a lot more of Chinese Democracy, as stated by various people from the band).

But they need to do more. That's why I'm hoping for more out of this announcement.

The only plus about touring Chinese Democracy again this time around, would be that there are thousands of new fans (this time around, they are actually backing a real album! It finally came out). They might not have been able to fill stadiums in 2006/2007, but they might now - I'm sure they have many new fans from the album (not all the people that bought the album were us, hardcore fans, in case we forgot, ;))

  5. Got a call from a friend this morning who knows I love GNR, said he heard this "announcement of an announcement" on the radio this morning.

There was indeed some discussion about this on a few radio stations in Montreal.

I'm surprise by the buzz create by this banner. I had a few friends that called me this morning

to let me know about the return of GN'R in Montreal.

The radio station that my friend heard it on was actually a smaller radio station from a city in Pennsylvania! I think they are big GNR fans, either that or this news is really taking off!

  6. This is very cool. Here's to hoping for some USA dates (specifically Pennsylvania, the rest of you guys can screw yourselves :P )

Exactly! Come to at least Pittsburgh, you haven't been there since 2002.

If you're really feeling ambitious come to State College!!!

  7. Ticketmaster brings something odd up in Toronto in January of 2010 when I looked up Guns N Roses. Can someone check it out and tell me if I'm crazy?

Yeah, it says "Guns & Roses" so I'm not sure if that's the same or not.

The "Guns N' Roses" page on ticketmaster still shows no shows, but I think that's just for the US.

  8. cant find it dude, where?

well fellas glad i came across this today radio station in moncton said announcement coming soon for major concert and they have GNR on the concert advisory page seems alot more credible then the asian tour only because it is close to home and gillette is risking alot if this is not correct 3 days to see whats up

    What are you smoking?

  11. Just found this on youtube and i thought it was pretty cool. It seems that a dude used different programs and uploaded almost all of chinese democracy songs, without axl singing, exclusively only instrumental.

Its not a superb quality (at some parts you can still hear axl singing at a very low volume), but still its pretty cool.

    Prostitute instrumental: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyKhm0pbkns...feature=related

    Rest of the songs: http://www.youtube.com/user/UseYourIllusionz

Yeah i came across these last month. It's pretty cool, but just a simple edit in Audacity or similar program.

Still sounds cool, wouldn't call it instrumental.

  12. SOD is the most recognizably GNR track on the album.

It's like something off UYI and sounds like the most commercial thing on the album. Perfect for playing on the radio or sports car stereos.

    This may be true.

But am I the only one that thinks its odd that the only evidence of this single that exists is a newbie on a message board.

No, single listed on industry and radio websites, no mention on the GNR website, or the myspace, HTGTH, no radio station announcement or radio station website anywhere in the U.S. - it just don't add up.

Even if someone uploaded a radio edit, it don't mean dick. (computers are excellent for editing audio tracks)

I have heard the original leaks of Chin Dem edited so that the AIM noises were gone, what does a bad quality radio edit prove?

First of all, I'm not the one who put the radio edit on youtube, so i guess, obviously, someone else has the promo single like I do...cause the radio edir, altough its low quality, has the same cuts as i have in mine (that i remind you, came from Universal directly to my hands.

Second, I may not post a lot, specially here, but just check out my username in chinesedemocracy.com or htgth. I f the posts werent deleted, you will see i was the first to confirm that universal had an official release date of november, and the first to have CD in my hands! Im not a liar, and sure as hell im not a newbie

Oh wow...now I do remember you. You were the first to confirm the Nov 23rd release date, and the Best Buy conference.

I believe you now. This has gotta be real. Do us a favor though and up it pleaseee
