  1. I wish that Guns N´ Roses would release a new album and Axl to get out all that there´s in the vaults and release it in a fine box set.

Fuck that would be a cool thing to do!

Especially if they followed that up by touring the U.S. with Clutch and Living Colour. That'd be my dream tour.

  2. To me the argeement is that Azoff will promote and book a tour for GNR and will get the concert commissions for the tour he will book in the future.

This agreement seems to be like neither Axl or Azoff had a very strong case in respect to there suits against each other and insteed of spending the dollars in the court system for what was going to be basicly a wash and the only winners are the lawyers.

Yes, both lawsuits appear to be negotiating tactics, nothing more. The real fight was over the terms under which GnR would sign a deal to tour the U.S. Those terms haven't been released and we don't know what the two sides were originally asking for, so there's no way to know who (if anybody) won. All we know is that they worked out a touring deal, making the bogus lawsuits irrelevant.

  3. I guess it shouldn't have included Sympathy For The Devil. And where the hell's Estranged?

Maybe my memory's failing, but Estranged wasn't even released as a single, was it?

  4. That solo in Shadow just proved my point. Bumble is technically better than Bucket.

    Buckethead sounds better.

That's an opinion.....I can't judge who's better by opinion. I can only judge using the technicalities. And that sexy acoustic sweep is just too impressive to pass up.

Let me get this straight--you're saying you're literally incapable of evaluating an inherently subjective question without trying to approach it objectively? Does anybody here know if there's a name for that condition?

  5. I miss the pre-internet days.

It's taken a lot of the "personal" touch out of life.

For example, people have Kindles now and read books on them...But I'll always prefer having a book in my hand, the crisp smell of a newly printed book's pages, being able to look at it's cover, etc.

I'm sure people said the same when record players were introduced. Some people probably thought it was nuts to listen to a recording of a song instead of the "real thing."

  6. Based on plans I've seen, the band should have the Summer free to do what they want.

As in something else needs to be done around that time or there's just nothing in the forseeable future?

MSL's other comments indicated that he had day-by-day details of GnR's plans for February through May.

  7. Thanks Rocker that is what the links were saying...If an artists song gets played by someone else they are supposed to get a small royalty...I don't know who pays but seems to me someone has to........

It depends. If the venue often functions as a music venue, they'll generally handle this. Problem solved--it's a part of their normal business operations. If not, the performer will need to make sure it gets taken care of. It doesn't really matter who arranges for the license and who pays, as long as the agency gets paid (and then pays the songwriter).

As for the trademark filings, the filing dates are all from before Slash left the band. It doesn't matter much whether they're up-to-date or not, as long as Axl can produce documentation to prove that ownership of the name ended up with him (via contracts, court orders, or whatever).

  8. Apparently if you buy this new TC Electronic chorus pedal, you can download and install a couple of presets dialed in by Bumble to that peddle or something. Neat idea but it's a bit gimmicky IMO. Still it don't matter if the pedal's actually good.

Here's the page (little interview too): http://www.tcelectronic.com/toneprintdownload.asp?AjrDcmntId=11847

EDIT: So to clarify it's not a traditional piece of signature gear, just a normal chorus pedal in a new line of pedals that have the ability to intake custom presets created by some artists. You can download a John Petrucci preset in this one too.

Makes sense. It's similar to what Line 6 does with those lousy Spider amps of theirs.

It's a shame the only TC pedal I really need at the moment is that polyphonic tuner pedal of theirs.

  9. If I'm talking about the very first time I heard a GnR song, which was probably 3 or 4 years before I even listened to them, I think I thought of them as "that band whose vocals would kill your throat"

    I was afraid, very afraid.

first i was afraid, i was petrified..

That's in my head now <_<

I hope it's the Cake version, at least.

  10. Just curious.

How do any of you know Activision breached the contract? Have you read it? You guys do realize a lawsuit is usually the last course of action, right?

Something tells me that the boys at Activision, think they might be ok.

Filing a lawsuit is often the first step in beginning negotiations. A trial would be the last resort.
