  1. Hope someone can confirm (I looked for this in FAQ but couldn't find/post in there).

Is Shadow Of Your Love live, from the "It's So Easy" single the same version as Shadow Of Your Love from the "Live And Let Die" single? Thanks.

I don't know but i do now is that there are several different demo versions out of this song. One demo version starts with wake up,time to play!! while the other version does'nt have this intro scream.

The version of Shadow Of Your Love from the "Live And Let Die" single starts with wake up,time to play!!.

  2. GnR is my favorite band, thats all that matters to me.

    Agreed!

There are bands that are better, have been around longer, and have had more classic songs and bigger impact, but there are few bands that I can listen to and not get tired of them - GNR is one of them.

Agree. That's the case for me!

  3. I cant really comment on the way they do it now because I really have no idea.. I thought the 2002 version was pretty boring though.. The old band made that song their own and it seems kind of pointless to play it without them these days... My favorite version was the Rits and Chicago 92.. Great great live song... Never really cared for the UYI studio version for mant reasons..

    Youtube is your guide.

I like all the "incarnations" of this song. Every single version has something unique. From the rawness of the old days, even the illusions "gimme some reggae", till the latest that is closest to the original.

  4. They could as well play small clubs and theatres so more people could get in without sucking cock for guestlist.

I agree with this. They could also play some warm up gigs at a club like The Troubadour for example and give something back to their fans.

How many fans exactly could they do that for? You're probably gonna get something at the Hammerstein or similar again but people need to be patient.

There'd simply be too much demand for a small club gig to open it up to the generl public. What people are ignoring is the fact that there are real fans at these gigs now anyway, they're just by invite only.

If they went on general sale or were advertised you'd get hundreds of people trying to blag their way in and spoiling it for the rest.

How many real fans had the change to be at the recent surprise gigs?

If you asking maybe you know the way that it can be measured...

  5. As much as I love him, I really feel like a change in opener's.

You are from Brazil? If not, why do you feel like a change in opener's? Unless you will attend a show there. No offence, just curious about how people thinking when they want something different in a show that they will not even be present...

  6. i'm surprised axl didn't explain to his buddies mickey rourke and sebastian bach on why the fans weren't let in. i'm surprised axl didn't give an apology for fans not being let in. he said these gigs are for us. yet, none of us were allowed in. double talkin' jive... mother ... you know

You know that there are fans out there who don't even know what a forum is... I don't understand the obsession here from some specific users.

  7. No, it's not. It's Axl Rose with his touring band which exist of continiously changing musicians

And it is called Guns N' Roses. That's what it says on the album, that's what it says on the concert tickets, anything else is nothing more than an argument in semantics, generally made by people who need to just accept it and move on for better or for worse

Obviously Guns N' Roses in 2010 is something completely different than it was in 1987, nobody is (or should) be arguing that, not even Axl or the people in the band make the argument that it's the same as it was. The fact remains that yes, there is a band out there called Guns N' Roses, fronted by the same person who founded the band and came up with the name, releasing music and touring.

I always laugh at the arrogance of people who think they are more of an authority on what is or isn't Guns N' Roses than Axl Rose is. Like some bitter disgruntled fan who hasn't gotten over the dissolution of the old lineup is somehow more of an authority than the guy who, again, founded the band, came up with the name, and maintains the rights to the name

I think that with this post from shotgunblues1978 the thread must come to an end!

  8. Let's hope. That's all I've got to say, I'll believe it when I see it.

Hope for what? The bottom end albums of the Billboard 200 sell like 1,500-2,000 copies per week. ChiDem hasn't been on the charts in a year or so in the US. How many copies is a re-release with a new booklet/artwork gonna sell? There are maybe what,10,000 die-hards who will buy this again, just to have a complete collection.

You don't know for what he is hoping but you still replying in waht do you think he hopes!!! Hilarious!

  9. Guns always had diiferent members, the original GN'R was Axl, Izzy, Ole Beirch, Tracci Gunns, and Rod Garder. This band always had line-up changes from day one. Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff, Steven is the most recoginizable one. After Steven was fired, I don't think people were saying this isn't Guns N' Roses, then Izzy leaves and it's still the same, no bitching over the name. Now it's Axl, Slash, Duff, Gilby Clarke, Matt Sorum and Dizzy Reed. People still didn't care about the name. After '94 everything changes. Axl gets new recruits after his old members leave to keep the band giong, returns at Rock In Rio 2001 and people start bitching about the name. You know why, because of Axl. 'Axl this...", "Axl that....', "I hate Axl" is the reason why they don't think the band is GN'R. They think they group has "hired guns" where the whole history had "hired guns' ( Slash, Duff, Steven, Dizzy, Gilby, and Matt) If Slash had the name, people would care, but not as much as when Axl has the name. Put people have to realize this IS Guns N' Roses.

Dave Mustaine is the only long term member of Megadeth and i don't here people bitching about the name. KISS have two members wearing make-up of two old members, I don't think many KISS fans are bitching like, "this isn't KISS, thier hired members, their disgracing the legacy." Dave Coverdale is the only long term member of Whitesnake, I doubt people care about the name. But Axl Rose, "he should keep the name," "it's an Axl Rose Solo Project", "hired guns suck." Maybe if they put their personal stuff aside and accually listen to the music, they will realize this is Guns N Roses. Maybe not the one you remember, but if you stop living in the past and put personal hatred aside, you'll realize this is Guns N' Roses.

How's this: GNR is Axl and Slash, without one of the two, it isn't GNR. And nobody says anything about Mustaine because nobody gives a shit about Megadeth. Besides, the band he was a part of went on to be, well, the biggest act in rock/metal.

So Duff when Slash left GNR was a member of the Axl Rose Project???

Your splitting hairs now, that period of time was a complete mess, they were all on their way out it was a matter of time. Duff never soldiered on and began making newer music with Axl and whoever else was in the 'band' at that time. Then my statement would still hold water - nobody's really interested in Axl unless he's with Slash.

Take your time and maybe some day you will answer my question. I think it takes a simple yes or no. Hope to hear it from you soon!

  11. Axl is more of a conductor than a frontman

Axl is a conductor! Haha thats rich. Why does no one have a problem with the direction the band is headed? Because they are all hired guns you fool. Think about it, are you gonna complain to your boss how the company is headed? If you do you wont have a job the next day.

Also, whats its like when members of the band havent written or recorded anything on the album? "This is Guns N' Roses" give me a fucking break

Axl's equally a conductor and a frontman and more importantly, he really IS Guns N' Roses. From the onset it was really his presence that defined the band. His voice, his performance, his ideals, vision, determination and hunger to make it all happen fueled their massive success. His integrity and stamina kept it all going while the others lagged, played and partied till they'd lost sight of what they'd really wanted, aspired to and attained, And when Axl was the last man standing he obviously had a choice to make, keep Guns going or fold. Anyone paying any attention to GN'R's rise from the early days to the "most dangerous band in the world" can see that Axl's choice was really an easy one, the only one he could make because from day one, it was already in the cards.

So, we have Guns N' Roses today. Hired guns? Yeah. Real, contributing, distinct band members? Yeah. Are they out of a job if they voice their opinions or complain? That depends, and here's where Guns is no different than any other entity in the real world. You get hired cuz your boss recognizes your talent and accomplishments, your potential within the organization and sees that your overall ideals are in line with what he's already created. You get to contribute, create and yes, even voice your opinions. If your opinions didn't count for shit you wouldn't be a part of the project and big picture in the first place! It's when you lose sight of the projects, overall goals and feel of the company that your position becomes precarious. And for sure when you become unstable or go wacko you're the next Adler or $la$h.

I don't know why the fuck people give Axl such a hard time. If you had equivalent brains and balls you'd be doin' the same thing in his position.

A band should be a collective group of guys with equal voice. Everything they do starts and ends with Axl.

Yeah, Steven had equal voice with Axl back then!

  12. Look I'm an Axl fan but the way they were talking about him was not very complimentary. So call me an idiot if you want - I'm just reporting what I saw and how it was presented to the average viewer of their show.

So, you are just the messnger!!! :rofl-lol:
