Anyone else waiting for the official release go to hear it?
I half paid attention to a terrible cell phone audio of it just to get a taste. Reserving any real opinion or feel for it until it's put out in full quality. Also, I haven't listened to any early versions to compare/complain about the new one.

As someone that came in late on this one, it's kinda hard to be disappointed by something that was never announced.

GNR Inc could easily license the UYI pro-shot archive to one of the streaming services and make easy money.
It doesn't seem like there is much market for official live DVDs/BDs anymore, with everything appearing on Youtube for free. They could partner with Nugs.net and make money. Instead it just sits in a basement somewhere.

None. Cincy 2016 was so awesome that I've been hesitant to tarnish that memory. It would take a new album or Axl singing as well as 2016 for me to want to go back.

I wish the reunion happened in 2004 and contraband was a gnr album.
Man... Axl on those instrumentals would have been amazing. I think Scott is great and he does kick ass on the album, but those are still some of Slash's best instrumental offerings since GNR. Also, imagine Axl at Rock AM Ring 2006 level with at least Slash/Duff/Sorum in GNR. It would have been a big deal.

How could you not think that's Axl? Are some of you deaf?

The setlists. Most casual GNR fans filling the seats know 10 songs at most. They're there for Jungle, Knockin, Sweet Child, November Rain, Live and Let Die, Paradise City, etc. There's absolutely no reason why the other dozen songs or so shouldn't have been switched up with every new leg/year within the same country. Also, ditch the weird covers. It's fine to do Wichita or Black Hole Sun for a while, but we don't need them being mainstays like The Seeker.
I've followed this whole reunion but admittedly went to just one show because I wanted to keep that happy memory of the reunion and not let it wear out. Cincinnati 2016 was too good to tarnish with the voice going downhill steadily since 2016 and the setlist barely changing.

Long time member here. Is anyone wanting to pick up the Appetite and these new LPs cheap? I realize I've grown too attached to the previous versions and have the 3 new remasters opened, but near mint and played once on a nice table. Send me a message and we'll work out an awesome deal!
-
I bought each of Jimmy Page's books and the Led Zeppelin book that are comparable and they were about $60 each. Amazing content and quality. This is hilariously overpriced.
Edit: I didn't notice they were signed. That's more understandable for the cheaper one. -
It's a complete shame that haven't release a 2016 on blu ray.

GNR's core fan base would likely still buy a blu-ray. They have no reason to not release a 2016 gig, but the band's management is lazy and don't like to make the fans happy.

Big props to Slash for giving us the real deal. It's all right there even with what appears to be him beating around the bush. They are just re-recording stuff that Axl has already done with no real vision on what it will be or when they'll truly collaborate in writing. He sounds like he hopes writing will happen, but has no real idea if it will. It is what it looks like is... they made up (which is great), touring for money (which is fine), and finishing Axl's recorded stuff (which is what it is...). Now we can all finally just accept it. Seriously though...

I'm confident they'll find a way to make this disappointing and overpriced, as usual.
I held out last time. I bought the remastered LP separate and then got the CD/Blu Ray audio box set for only $50 on their site. No way I'd pay for that AFD safe thing, but no offense to anyone that did. To each their own!

Be careful with unpopular opinions here. If certain people say Slash sounds awful on CD songs and that he's noodling than you can't just claim the opposite.
Haha yeah. I try not to take sides with the CD material. I like the studio versions a lot. I mean, come on, Finck and Buckethead were fucking amazing on the leads on that album. I think Better is... better with the simple, yet cool intro and Slash's solo. There Was a Time had some room for improvement, but seeing as they didn't play it much, I think Slash did a damn good job on the solo. I'm a player of nearly 20 years and can appreciate it from a guitarist perspective. Not perfect with T.W.A.T., but all things considered, pretty damn awesome.
-
I'm late to the party, but wow, Slash's solo he wrote for Better is so amazing (I do enjoy the original, but damn, that's a cool take). I had never seen TWAT live with this lineup. Slash did a great job on the huge solo section and I though it was cool to hear him play those amazing recorded leads live, though you could tell if they played it more, he would absolutely nail it.

I definetly need one album more from them . They are My favourite band ever and their catalog is so short. I would love Slash n Duff convince Axl to put out 2/3 more albums. I don't mind if they tour or not but i need new music. Say what You want about Absurd/Hardskool and i maybe I agree but Anything new from them it's a Magic trip
Yeah, the lack of material is what drives everyone around here mad. We know how great the band can be, but we just don't have enough from them.

Whether you're kidding or not... I've worked with certain people in my life (musically and professionally) where it's just better to not step on toes if you want to keep a dynamic working and keep everyone happy. It's definitely something that comes with maturity.

Anyone else notice HS live didnt have the drum fill before Duff’s opening? Maybe it is a lead in from a song on album??
It was there live. Check youtube again.

If Axl was on 2016 level at minimum, I'd love to see it. Now though, we know we'd get Jungle, SCOM, and Paradise. Only 1 of those really is in Axls wheelhouse still.
I don't want to see VMAs or Rock In Rio part 4. That'd be a nail in the coffin for the band in the mainstream.

Imagine not listening to the leaks in the hope that GNR actually record/release new music.
If you haven't heard the leaks, here is a summary of what's left:
- Perhaps - decent piano driven ballad, would be a nice filler track on Illusion
- Atlas Shrugged - dreadful effort, like Catcher but somehow even worse, sounds dis-jointed and patched together
- State of Grace - very good song, vocals not 100% finished and parts of the verses are mumbled
- Nothing - absolutely nothing of note. Non-descrip generic ballad with mumbled half-asses vocal
- Eye on You - dreadful, My World/Silkworms level with Axk rapping a few lines, incomplete
- A ton of instrumentals that he never wrote lyrics or recorded for - except Quick Song where he shouts 'woo-woo' on
I haven't heard the leaks. Don't know where to find them 🤷♂️🙁. I enjoy this hot take on them though. I see tons of praise for songs that sound like people are calling "epic" big guns. If there's anything this band needs is less of those and more songs like Hard Skool. A couple epics per album is plenty, I don't need half an album of them.

I didn't know they announced the 7" single!

Ok, when you listen to some of the old stuff and then Hard Skool...the production is kinda off. Sounds a bit like a demo still.
The old stuff is analog and just has a smoother, warmer tone. Most, if not all, of this is probably recorded on computers and with all of the mashing together, this is the sounds you will likely get.

I dunno, this band operates in a world of its own. Would not surprise me and really, with some heavy duff bass and sleazy guitar it could be great!
I'm up for hearing anything that could sound good.

OMG was officially released for a soundtrack. The 2 current releases were unreleased. I don't think they'll release it again.
Perhaps - August 18. UPDATE IV: A New Hope (Radio Premiere Tomorrow?)

One of the few bands to ever shit on fans for wanting/seeking out new songs. The crackdowns on the forums and reddit stuff shouldn't even be a thing. They should be releasing the material and getting their management's shit together.
