  1. I haven't really been following GNR activity but I see on HTGTH they got no more tour dates.

That's pretty interesting. Maybe if we see no more dates added in the next few months we can start imaging Axl is in his clock tower creating another masterpiece. Or maybe he's just sitting his fat ass at home.

Jesus Christ, 1 record in what...19 years?...Is it? What a waste of fucking talent when you really think about it.

  2. A very decent yet predictable show. Crowd was basically a bunch of drunk people who have obviously never seen GNR before getting a kick out of hearing those classic old hits. Who can blame them.

For me, it was old news. I can pretty much say I won't be seeing them again. I've seen GNR 9 times since 06 and the novelty has officially worn off. One thing I can say though, I've seen them 9 times and Axl has never given it less than 100%, well except for the Dublin show but we all know that story.

Oh and even though he seems like a really nice guy, DJ Ashba irritates the fuck out of me.

  3. A huge problem for Brian (and I imagine Axl) was sections. Axl and Brian write in sections. Better is a great example, it's very unusually structured. Very complex, in my head I Imagine Axl spent a very long time getting it just right. Don't get me started on the ending to twat.

Heroes and Villains on Smile had about 50 different versions. Brian had no idea what to do with that song, he had all these different ideas and sections to be fitted into a 4 minute song. The single that was eventually released was a shell of what it could have been. It's still awesome though.

  4. The Beach Boys are my favorite band. Brian Wilson in particular.

Axl and Brian are very similar in personality as is CD and Smile. Smile as a project collapsed because of drugs and the amount of time the project was taking. Brian was feeling pressure from the record company and his band mates to get it done. The Beach Boys were releasing more than 1 album a year at that point, so Brian just shelved it. Brian spent half a year making Good Vibrations alone.

It's hard to make comparisons between the albums because so much is known and has been written about Smile but not much is known about the years Axl spent making CD. What we do know is both albums are incredible and were worth the wait.

  5. He looks like total shit. That said I really couldn't care less what he looks like, or does, or fucks.

Just wake me when they might be releasing an album. Which hat this stage I couldn't really care less about either.

  6. I'm going and I'm pretty nervous..

Just look at the website. You can add bands to your "lineup". Kanye has over 2k, same with Kings of Leon, Nas, 1500, The XX 2K. GNR just 600, about as many as the lowest billed bands.

I know it's not a huge thing but add the petition, all the anti GNR stuff on the facebook page. It's gonna be a pretty hostile and small crowd with no time for Axl's shit. Got disaster written all over it.

    Excited to see Kanye too.

  7. Well considering from pictures I've seen parts off the arena were curtained off I wouldn't exactly start acting like GNR sold the place out in 10 minutes.

Also, thousands of seats remain unsold for the next show.

I'm not taking sides but people shouldn't be surprised GNR got a few thousand people inside a building, at the same times it's a shame GNR can't sell out arenas anymore. God knows how bad it's gonna be in 5 years. If they are still active.

  8. Is this really a surprise? The jig is up with GNR, people are on to them, even us. The touring jukebox won't last much longer unless they go to Iraq next.

Of course they always will sell a couple of thousand tickets wherever they go because the GNR logo holds a lot of prestige but realistically America, The UK, Ireland now Australia have no time for this incarnation of the band. The mystery has gone.

Axl's my dude, I love the guy but the last two years have been hard to take. He is a complete joke. You can't defend a 5 year greatest hits tour, trust me I've tried.
