Has Axl said anything about playing with Buckethead on the new album? I don't recall...
Axl told a forum member at the Versace afterparty years ago that Bucket's solo on Silkworms will blow us away...
I hadn't heard this. Cheers
Well I wouldn't mind if Bucket played some solos here and there, I don't think we have to worry about Buckethead taking song structure for a ride, Axl wouldn't go for a structure that doesn't enable him to take centre stage and display his vocals.
This brings up an interesting point - even if his solos are replaced, it's likely he'll still be all over the album in the rhythm sections and riffs. Think Madagascar, Scraped, and Shacklers.
-
I don't see why bucket would have any involvement at this stage
People were saying this constantly between 04 and 08. We all know what the result was.
-
Any predictions?
I reckon Bucket will reign supreme once again, with a smattering of Ron and DJ.
It would be nice if Fortus got at least one solo this time around.

A big thank you to team Beta
they have been quiet proactive since (officially ) becoming gnrs management and they've already achieved a lot in a few months which would of taken years under the past managers.
-iclips
-shows booked throughout New York and the world
- more to come
She's done nothing that previous managers couldn't do.
If she wants to impress me, put the album out.
Oh aren't we Mr. Self -Important
I can fucking guarantee She ain't trying to impress you, lose that misconception.
She is managing GNR and doing a damn fine job!
I simply stated what everyone was thinking and you know it.
Au Contraire, you don't speak or think for " everybody", that is a pretty grandiose assumption.
Beta,Fernando, and Vanessa are doing a fantastic job,if you have some sort of personal issue with this arrangement, its nobody's problem but yours.
Get your head out of Beta's ass dude. It's embarrassing.
When all else fails, get Mum on the job "Axl! Stop piss-fartin' around in your room this instant young man, you've an album to make!"
"But Mum, Tom & Jerrys on!"
"1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9
*sighs and comes out of his room and heads to the bathroom*
There's a good lad!
*under his breath* i hate you...
You what sunshine?!?!
Nothing Mum, nothing!
lmfao, probably true too

How do we know this is a new entry to ASCAP?

Fuck off Fernando.
We seriously couldn't give a rats ass about NYC.

Do we really have reason to believe that a whole new cd is ready?
I don´t think they are going to announce the release of new music, the tour ended a few weeks ago and it´s impossible that they record a whole cd in that time.
It's been ready for years. Time to get the fucking thing out.

Great news for Euro fans
All we need now is UK dates
No, what we need at this point is a new album.
-
GN'R should start over. They got DJ now and he's a really good guitarist. They seem more like a team now.
I'm not interested in a new CD of 12 year old songs. I think the new guys creating a new album would be better.
Lolllll whatttttt!?!??!?!?
What? DJ is a great guitar player man don't deny him that...you can criticize a lot of shit but he can play the AX like it's nobody's business.
Sorry champ, but the dude cannot even replicate Robin's TIL solo, and even Robin was not a 'really good' guitarist. Bucket, Bumble, Fortus, yes they are really good guitarists. DJ? No. Not in my opinion.
Replicating an extremely sloppy player is no easy task. I'm not a DJ fan, but his playing is light years ahead of Finck.

What? Are you fucking insane?

Sure Robin had his offnights on his own solo's, but not that many to be honest.
I loved how he played the SOD solo. And the first half of the CD solo from Boston 2002 is fucking awesome as well.
And I always wondered how This I Love would've sounded if they played it when Robin was still in GN'R.
I love DJ's take on it tho.
He couldn't do it.
What you hear on the record is hundreds of takes that have been edited ad nauseum.
-
As long as that album has the cd left overs/bucket songs in with some new song then that's good
I really hope these albums see the light of day. I'll spew if Robin's parts get cut and redone by DJ.
This is a joke, right?
Robin is a stain on the GNR legacy.
-
Fortus should have done all Robin's solos on CD.
In fact, Robin shouldn't have been hired in the first place.

Whats next?
in 2012
My prediction : another few rounds of cash-grab tours. Two new replacement guitarists plus a new drummer for good measure, and no new music until at least 2017.
I hope I'm proven wrong, but doubt that I will be.
So when did touring become a bad thing? Slash tours because he loves to play live, but if Axl tours its a cash grab?
It's a cash grab when they keep embarking on tours with no new music.
Some people are happy with this arrangement and that's fine, however I'm not interested in seeing 4 more shows with a samey classic GNR setlist.
I'd love to see GNR release some new material, but I'm not expecting it - that way I won't be let down when it never happens.

22 songs and no sign of seeing any of them released in the near future.
Well that is just fucking depressing isn't it.

TMS SHOW UP.
in 2011
I haven't seen it yet.
Any details on new music and when we're likely to hear it?
Dont hold your breath
So nothing was discussed regarding new music?
I find that very hard to believe. It's the elephant in the room.

Agreed, though think about this - If they could polish a turd and make Robin sound decent on the album (which they did), I dare say DJ would end up sounding even better.
I shudder to think about how many times Robin's parts were recorded. I'm guessing 10's of thousands of takes.
