  1. Pretty much banned by axl. She was a mod or whatever and was somewhat like groghan you could sa. A devout follower and believer in nu gnr but was critical as well. She was just more well known and connected I guess you could say, more outspoken as well. Axl came to the forums called her a cunt and all this garbage and she got banned.

Axl should have been banned fr the personal attack lol. Oh, the irony.

She wouldn't let people here talk about Buckethead's playing shortly after Chinese Democracy was released just because she didn't like him.

I feel like Axl just said what many people here thought if I'm being honest.

Good memory Rovim. This is the reason for Axl's outburst and I don't blame him one bit.

  2. DJ: Oh yeah, you know... I have been working in a lot of material, but we already have lots of finished stuff. Axl has a lot, a lot of things remaining from Chinese that are really good, and we have been working and re-recording and writing new stuff everyday.

He had better fucking not be re-recording Buckethead's parts.

    He had better fucking not.

Buckethead is prolific as far as music creation in ways that DJ can't even fathom. If he couldn't get Axl motivated enough to finish and release music, then color me skeptical that Ashba is going to suddenly get Axl to open the flood gates.

    This x1000.

  3. I'm not knocking Buckethead in anyway when I say: By joining Axl, Buckethead got the one thing he wanted, A RECORD DEAL!

What "deal" are you referring to exactly?

Bucket was signed to a major label long before GNR hired him. For example, "Giant Robot" - a 1994 release on the Sony label.

  4. Fair point, but anyone who's ever heard Population Override would surely agree that Buckethead could quite easily play the laid-back, bluesy role when required.

He can lay back and play something chill when necessary, if given the chance, maybe he could have been the sole lead guitarist. I don't really know why he wasn't.

This was Axl's plan. Buckethead was the sole lead guitarist for the band leading up to Rock in Rio, then Robin decided he wanted back in just before the show. Robin was allowed back in because of a contractual loop-hole. Buckethead was not impressed, and I don't blame him.

If Robin never returned to the fold we'd probably have Buckethead on lead guitar to this day.

  5. I'd be cool with DJ re-recording Fincks parts, it'd make for a big improvement.

Just leave Buckets parts the FUCK alone ok DJ?

DJ wouldn't rerecord Bucket. Ron would.

By that logic Ron wouldn't rerecord Finck, but he did (Riad comes to mind).

There are exceptions. It's GNR dude, anything can happen.

  6. Ron's solos sucked on Catcher in The Rye and Shackler's Revenge. We should have had a Bucket solo and a Brian May solo on those two respective songs. I just don't see the point in watering down the music in order to keep these guys happy. If they don't like just being touring guitarists than Axl should replace them.

They were probably way better than what Bucket had since Ron improves on most of his other solos live.

    cupcake alert!

  7. I think that the best solution would be calling in Buckethead. Easily the best alternative!

Though Bucket would never rejoin. If he would, he'd be in the band right now.

An interesting development though, hope it's not too serious and he gets well in the short term.

Bumble's mate Guthrie Govan would be a suitable stand in lead axe.

  8. Trey and Matt are Primus fans ( Les Claypool is the voice of the South Park theme too ) so there's no wonder why they'd praise Buckethead.

This will be the second time if Bucket is in fact praised in this episode.

The first time was the Guitar Hero episode.
