  1. So GnR are toruing Canada, I am interested to know from Candians and others if they can handle the midnight concert start time.

In Sydney it started to get a bit edgey around 11.45pm and still no Axl on stage

Lol, but I thought the show starts around 7:00 and GNR go on stage around 9:00! lol

Take the next day off from school or work and you'll be all right and hope that Axl has had a good day and decides to actually play a concert.

  2. Okay, so the Canadian dates have been confirmed by GNR. Hurray for you!

Since it's being called the Chinese Democracy World Tour, I assume that somewhere down the line, there will be US dates, since we are part of the world. lol

But then again, who knows what Axl considers a "world tour" to be? I skeptical that Axl could hold up for a world tour. Most bands nowadays tour for a year or 2 to promote their cds and play many shows to meet the needs of their fans. Since the last so called US tour didn't really make people too excited, that could be why the US is left out, but then again, maybe if Axl and the GNR camp gave us some incentive and promised to actually do the whole tour, we fans might actually buy the tickets.

I this point, I really don't care either way. If there's a US tour one day soon, before I'm too old or dead, and GNR come to Dallas, I will buy tickets and hope and pray that Axl finishes the tour, but until then, I have so many favorite bands that have come to Dallas and will continue to tour the US as well as the rest of the world, so I'm good.

tour dates in asia, tour dates in north america, 2 continents = world tour. its not what most would consider a "World tour" to be, but it is a world tour. so the usage of "World tour" does not guarentee more dates, although we all expect more dates, whether they actually happen or not.

Then it shouldn't be called a World Tour. A real World tour would include all 7 continents, which would most likely include the US. You know the country where Axl lives and makes most of his money. But then like I said, since Axl isn't really reliable, the sales in the US probably wouldn't be worth them touring here. Either way, I won't lose any sleep over it. Like my friend said, if Axl and GNR did tour here, we probably would be disappointed anyway, since Axl's new GNR couldn't compare to the original act of 20 years ago and that is just so sad.

  4. wow! I just checked ticketmaster and low and behold there are the dates for some Canadian cities.

I also clicked on the DEMAND IT sign for GNR to come to Dallas. The page said 18 people have requested GNR to come and play Dallas. lol I guess it's a start.

Like so many of us have said before, selling the tickets and schedule the shows is one thing, Axl showing up and performing is another. I really hpe this tour happens, because then maybe GNR will decide to play some major US cities. I think it's about time we got something for our loyalty.

How about it Axl? Think you can actually start and finish a US tour?

  5. Well, actually ... a proper single release with a proper video would be a brand new, ground-breaking idea. This has never been done before! :xmasssanta:

    lol, not lately anyway.

It seems weird to do a single and video now for a cd that's almost a year old, but it would be nice if something was done. If/when there's a tour it would be nice to have some form of promotion too.

If the dates in Canada are real, I wonder if GNR will decide to actually play dates in the US? It would be nice if they did tour their own country for a change.

  6. Yep, it shows how amazing a presence Axl is on stage when he really has his heart and soul into it.

I would assume Axl watches old movies, like any person would, but I bet it's also bittersweet for him. Sometimes you can't recreate that ever again, so that must be sad, but then again, at least he had it once and that's something to smile about.

Axl is a true showman on stage. I just don't understand why he doesn't tour much anymore. Who wouldn't want to feel that way more often and have all your fans supporting you and singing your lyrics back to you. It's gotta be a rush like no other.

  7. First of all there's no comparison from Led Zepplin to the original lineup of GNR.

The members of LZ were like brothers and that's the reason why when John Bonham died, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones retired LZ. Yeah, the original 3 remaining members have played some shows with John's son, Jason, but to actually tour again as LZ I doubt it.

Robert Plant has had an amazing solo career. Jimmy Page still plays with other amazing musicians and has done other solo projects and even did an album with David Coverdale of Whitesnake, but to actually make a new LZ, highly doubtful.

Now back to the original GNR, these guys were never like brothers, but then again, some brothers do argue and get violent with each other! lol But I just think it was creative differences that broke up the original GNR, whereas with LZ, it was 2 tragedies, the death of their drummer John Bonham and the death of Robert Plant's young son. Sometimes there's no way to continue after that. Besides, their music lives on for many new generations of fans to hear. LZ is a band that will live on forever and I believe GNR's music will do the same because both bands were unique in their own special way.

  8. I went to Hot Topic on Saturday and got the new GNR CD t-shirt for $15. I also bought a Bullet for my Valentine shirt for only $5.00

Anyway, I love the t-shirt. It looks very cool! I told the guy when I bought it that I don't care what people are saying the cd is amazing. He hadn't heard it yet, but he heard it was a lot of ballads. It told him to listen for himself.

Anyway, I'm glad they had the shirt. They also had a few Slash ones. I'm hoping that Axl will release more shirts and possibly some of the older shirts, but you never know?

  9. Damn, I like that shirt. I'll have to get my ass to Hot Topic.

Years ago when Axl and GNR were on MTV and he said about the US tour, I got a couple of t-shirts that had the GNR logo with a star on the front and Chinese lettering on the back. Has anyone else seen these shirts? Anyway, I figure they might be worth something now! lol
