  1. Hey this shows how well Axl has grown. 20 years ago, he would have stopped the show and left the stage and never went back. Or he would have punched the guy out who threw the bottle on stage.

I think it shows how much Axl has matured and I think he handled it very well.

As for the dumb shits who threw things on stage because the sound was off, what are you stupid? If you had hit anyone, you would have been in big trouble. As for the jerks who tried to force their way into the show, why didn't you try to buy tickets like a norma fan?

There's always a few dick heads who try to mess up a good time for everyone else. I know I'm a magnet for jerks anytime I go to any type of show. I've had to put a few jerks in their place because although it's a concert, it doesn't give anyone the right to hit or fuck up my good time!

  2. blabbermouth.net has a story about an almost riot outside the stadium at Buenos Aires. It said 12 fans were arrested in trying to get into the sold out venue. Then some fans inside were throwing stuff on stage and Axl stopped the show twice so someone could speak to them to stop it. They said the sound was bad and the fans couldn't hear Axl singing.

I swear it seems wherever Axl goes, trouble follows. lol

  3. He looked uncomfortable and kind of depressed. Or maybe he was just tired. It's got to be a pain in the ass to be famous.

A pain in the ass is when people have to work 12 hour days in a factory/hard labor for minimum wage. Not signing autographs/taking pictures. Don't get it twisted.

These people are lucky to have met Axl though.Nice of him to do that for his fans.

    Right on dude!

Exactly, I do understand how tired Axl must be from going from country to country, but it has to make him feel good that fans are still looking forward to meeting him and still loving him.

yeah, I wish I had his job and at the end of the day, it has to make Axl feel good to know people still care.

As for Blabbermouth.net, they talk shit about almost everyone. I think some people are just so damn unhappy, it makes them feel better to bash someone who's successful and fans still care about.

Whatever! I doubt Axl or any other musician they talk shit about cares. They're still making money and pleasing their fans.

  4. I just checked blabbermouth.net and they have footage of Axl signing autographs and taking pictures with his fans in the Porto Alegre hotel in Brail. Axl doesn't say much, but he seems very happy to be with his fans. Axl is looking very good these days and I think this tour is doing him a world of good both physically and emotionally.

  5. I read this on blabbermouth.net.

I always thought their problems stemmed from personal reasons and not creative ones.

Slash has always admitted to be honored to be a part of the GNR legacy. It seems like he and Axl worked differently and that's what caused the friction. Oh well, I wonder if now that Axl and Slash are older, if they would work better together or not?

  6. I got that Revolver. it had a nice article remembering The Rev from Avenged Sevenfold and a very cool poster of him too.

Yeah, it shows a young Axl with his tattoos. Of course, it mentioned the story about Axl's cross tattoo and how the record company looked at it and loved it so much they made it the album cover. I actually the story was the other way around, but hey it's even cooler knowing Axl thought up the tattoo first. Unfortunately, we all know that Axl has blackened out the faces except for his, which I think was a huge mistake. That tattoo was amazing and since it was of a good time in his life, he should have kept it. I guess he was in an angry stage when he had it done, but I bet he regrets it sometimes.

  7. I think Axl and GNR deserve better than this.

Someone's dropping the ball yet again. How the hell do they expect GNR to sell any tickets for any US shows without so much as a mention of the release of chinese democracy followed up by maybe a video, a new single and possibly Axl doing some interviews?

The person dropping the ball is Axl. There is nothing stopping him from promoting his album even if the record company could care less. Waiting around for the record company to play wet nurse and do everything for you is just lazyness.

Look at Slash, he has no record deal or label bank rolling him (he financed the album himself), and look at all the promotional stuff he lined up for himself (the Classic Rock magazine issue, the record with Slash/Mike Clink contest) as well as doing little things like the promo video he just put out and a bunch of other stuff. None of it is rocket science, but it requires some effort and a little hustle.

Instead of making it happen even in the face of an unsupportive record company, he instead threw up his hands, and took his ball and went home.

That's certainly his prerogative to do so, but no one should be painting him out as a victim that the label didn't go above and beyond for him when there was plenty he could have done on his own to have saved that album.

I agree with you. But I don't think it was just Axl's fault the album bombed. It probably was also high expectation from fans and music critics, some people that just can't move on, and many people just didn't give it a chance. Also the 6 year old leaks didn't do any good as many people hear the demo's 10 or 20 times and didn't like them or the finished product. What really was Axl to do, a press release, a tour. Maybe some interveiws but thats really the best he could have done. He was on here chatting with use like a week or two after the release and he had that interveiw with Del James. It's obvoius he didn't like the way it all went down and their might have been some things behind the scenes we didn't know about. It was partly Axl's fault, but not in a whole. A video would have helped it get bigger, but maybe have a few more sales if they hear Better 4 times in a row. At least the album came out and were not still waiting for it.

Also , Slash may have financed the album himself, but he has some major well-known artists from today on it. Axl was trying to reinvent something the was huge in the 80's and early 90's. It's not that easy for Axl. Slash's album, which I'm definatly buying, it probably going to have many guitar-driven, riffy songs on it, which isn't bad. But it isn't like he's trying to change his sound and bring the best he can to reivent himself and the GN'R name. There was more weight on Axl's shoulders for Chinese Democracy as there is for Slash's album.

I totally agree with you, besides, it's always seems to be Axl's fault when things go wrong.

I feel the record company should have promoted the cd better when it was first released, but they didn't. the cd got a lot of great reviews, but little or no air play, at least none to speak of here in Dallas.

It is true that Axl could have promoted the cd himself, like in the old days, but who knows why he hasn't? In today's market, you have to put yourself out there to promote the hell out of your shit. do interviews, do videos and get the songs on the radio.

I guess since the tour is going so well, Axl figures why bother to promote the cd when he's performing the songs night after night as well as old stuff and the fans are loving it.

I probably wouldn't care much either if Axl toured the US and did all the major cities, including Dallas. At least then, I'd be able to say I saw Axl and GNR and they rocked, so who cares if the show or the cd wasn't promoted enough, at least I got to see them live. Unfortunately, since I can't say that, at least not for now, it just pisses me off how so little is done about GNR. It really is a puzzle. In the old days, Axl would promote the hell out of the band, himself, the merch and their music. Now it's like, whatever!

  8. So now the record company decides to re-release the cd to other stores and yet no publicity at all this time around. so sad!

I think Axl and GNR deserve better than this. There wasn't any ad in the Target flyer and amazon.com didn't send me any info about it. I always get a newsletter from them regarding recently released cds and since I've bought other GNR stuff from them, you would think they would have sent me an email regarding it?

Someone's dropping the ball yet again. How the hell do they expect GNR to sell any tickets for any US shows without so much as a mention of the release of chinese democracy followed up by maybe a video, a new single and possibly Axl doing some interviews?

    This really sucks big time!

  9. By the way I hope this drinking is just a bit of fun and not a problem

Yeah, I agree. I hate to sound like a downer, but I do hope the drinking thing doesn't get out of hand. The doctors don't give liver transplants to alcoholics anymore lol.

Axl should be working on planning on a US tour instead of partying to all hours of the morning. lol

  10. Did I hear Axl saying at the end "Do I have power now?" Was his mic out and instead of having a blowup like the old Axl, he just went into a Pink Floyd song until his mic was fixed?

Or maybe he was just kidding and felt like doing that song?

either way, Axl looked very cool and sounded awesome. It really looked like he had a blast during that tour.

What happened was that during YCBM (if I can remember well) he turned around and threw his mic stand towards the back curtain, under which sits the piano when it's not in use. Well, he threw it so hard (like a javelin throw) that it went through the curtain and knocked out some wires from under the piano. So when they brought it out for November Rain, it wasn't working, so they improvised until it was ready. It was a cool moment.

Yeah, that was a cool thing to do considering Axl could have had an outburst like he sometimes would do, X-D

Anyway, glad Axl is coping better when things don't always go well, which sometimes happens with live concerts.

  12. Whether there's anything to this or not, there'll be a US tour... Seems here in the US, Axl's image is more tarnished than other places, so it makes sense that they're touring all these other places first, as more shows go off without a hitch and no Axl-related incidents occur, the more successful their US leg will be.

The only thing I see GNR's image being tarnished is if they cancel shows.

    dude you're totally right.

If/when a US tour happens, Axl better get his shit together and start and finish the whole tour. Maybe then we US fans will have faith in Axl again. He has to earn our trust again. Axl's got the talent and this new GNR sounds great, so I think it's about time for them to do a full US tour so we can see what the rest of the world is seeing and hearing.

  13. yea, Axl will have to be coming on earlier than normal... And if they do outdoor shows... definately cant be going passed 11PM at some places... So i would expect arenas.. smaller arenas more than most

Yeah, you're right. The one outdoor venue here in Dallas does have a time limit. I don't think I've ever seen a headliner go past 11:15. Most headliners are on by 9:30 and are off by 11:00. Most all day festivals start around 1:00 or like Ozzfest around 9:00 a.m.

I really wouldn't care where GNR performed as long as they came to Dallas. There are plenty of venues here all sizes to pick from and like I said, the HOB venue has the best sound system.

  14. If gnr tour the US this summer and play Arenas it will be the same old situation, half the dates will be sold out, the rest half or little more filled.

Dates like MSG will be sold out

Yeah, and then after the MSG show, Axl won't show up for anymore shows and the producers of this tour will have to cancel the rest of the dates, just like in 2002.

I think if GNR do tour the US, they should try to play smaller venues, or if they play outdoor arena, they should have about 4 opening bands that are hot right now. That's what Motley Crue do now with Cruefest. They headline and get popular acts to open for them and then they close the show with a killer show, which is what GNR can do.

I'd be surprised if Axl and GNR actuallly do a US tour. There are so many cities they would have to play and I'm not sure if Axl wants to be on tour that long? It's all up to him, as usual.

  15. I think Axl is really sad that he sweat so much during this show and he'll probably reschedule the South American tour to an outside stadium Scandinavia tour in the freezing winter cold :xmassrudolph:

Do you know how hot it is on stage? And then add singing and moving around, who wouldn't sweat? It's just a fact of being a performer on stage. It's not unusual.

  16. The U.S. are greedy fucks and they are so negative why would Axl go there when theres so much love everywhere else...doesnt make sense to me...the crowd throws shit at em they are dicks i hope he doesnt do a tour in the U.S...I saw em in toronto last month and the band kicked serious ass..Axl sounded better then ive ever heard him...and you American pricks would probobly still talk shit about his voice...hes older now he doesnt want to deal with your bullshit...i met him backstage in Toronto and he was talking about that... he said Canada is amazing...I hope he comes back here instead of America...

LOL. "US are greedy". That's why we bail the rest of world out of any problems. And RE: GnR/Axl Rose band...didn't the US make em what they became? What's the last good Canadien band? Celine Dion...........

    Dude right on.

Canadians can talk big because they know the US will defend them when they get into trouble. You're also right about the rest of the world.

Everyone hates the US, but they're hands are always out for the money.

Hey Canada, how about guarding your borders better, so no terrorists can get through. lol Oh, wait, that's right you hate the US. Well, let's see how long you last if anything every happens to America.

and you're right. The US was the country that made GNR great and rich. Axl can't say that all US fans are jerks, there are plenty of loyal fans who would go to the concerts if they actually did a US tour.

Yeah, I know nothing has been said yet, and that's part of the problem. I bet after SA, GNR go to do festivals in Europe and by then Axl will have had it with touring and will just come back to the US to retire. lol

  17. Blabbermouth.net had the South America Dates listed too.

They also wrote about the Asian and Canadian tours and stated that there were no US dates as yet.

then it goes on to list Axl as well as the other members of the band.

    It also mentioned Chinese Democracy.
