  1. Has anyone here read Slash's book? He said on That Metal Show that he talks about why there will never be an original GNR reunion with him.

I haven't read the book, but I'm curious to know what exactly Slash has said. It has to be something really bad for Axl and Slash to say they would never reunite again.

  2. Trunk really getting him to open up! Pretty interesting stuff. I'm paraphrasing here: Slash says the bad stuff between him and Axl only comes from that final period in 96. "If Axl wants to do it, we need to talk, and I want to do it. We need clean up the personal stuff, and business stuff. It's seems like it will be a fun cool thing to do. We have to do it different than 91, 92, and I just don't think that is possible. But, it's hard to say what is going on with all that stuff. I haven't been thinking about it, but need to. Steven has the best thoughts about it, "let's do it", but he wasn't there from 91-96. I'm done talking about it.

Slash stating in same sentence he wants a reunion, but then saying not possible.

    ______________________________________________________

Disclaimer, I have no argument or personal desire for or against a reunion. I love the new band, and of course would love a reunion. As long as I see either again soon, I'm cool.

Okay, I watched That Metal Show and I didn't hear Slash talk about a GNR reunion. He did mention not wanting to talk about it anymore and that's why he wrote his book. I haven't read his book, but from his tone, it sounded like an original GNR reunion would never happen.

He did mention if GNR ever got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame he would be there as he thinks most of the guys would.

when asked who he would want as a singer, Axl or Scott, Slash did say Axl, but as for a reunion, I really don't think either Slash or Axl want one.

Axl has said he's moved on with his new band. But I have heard Steven and Duff say it could happen because everyone of the original members are alive. I think it could happen, but I won't hold my breathe. At this stage of my ljfe I would just love to see Axl and i really don't care which band are behind him.

  3. When I was 17-18 yea... but now 10 years or so later, not so much. I do respect him though....I respect anyone who came from dirt, survived the fire, and made something of himself.

I know how hard that can be.

    I agree with you.

I really don't idolize anyone, but I do like Axl for his voice and his amazing music. I only wish I could have seen him and GNR back in the 80's. I listen to the live cd all the time and man they were fuckin awesome!

Slash was recently on That Metal Show and they started talking about being inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Slash said he would definitely be there and so would most of the band. I would truly love to see the whole original band including Axl accept their award. even if the other band members have to stand between Axl and Slash I think that would be so damn awesome to see!

Anyway, Axl rocks in my book.

  4. Throwing shit on stage is stupid. I can see t-shirts, bras, flags, etc...but any type of bottle or anything hard is stupid. I don't understand why people bitch about Axl when he stops the song to address the fans about it

This is the reason why the venues in Dallas never allow you to have a bottle of anything at a rock show.

The few jerks who like to throw things at the bands make it hard for the rest of us to have to carry our water in those stupid plastic cups.

Grow up people. If you don't like a band, then sit outside the venue or walk around. don't fuck it up for the rest of us!

  5. I still listen to GNR alot. They're are one of my all time favorite bands.

The Dallas rock station plays them a lot too. Usually, whenever I'm in my car, I'm sure to hear a GNR song.

I think until the day I die, GNR will always be a huge part of my life.

Now if only I could see Axl live in concert just once! That would be cool.

  6. I am so torn on that statement. An icon? Pffft more like a pussy, like his music but the guy was a fucking idiot

I agree partly with you about cobain being a pussy. but I also hated his music.

I have to laugh remembering the when Axl and Kurt and his slut of a wife told Axl how he was the old generation and they were the new one! Yeah, right. Kurt is dead by his own had. She's still a no talented slut who couldn't even raise their daughter correctly and Axl is still standing and better than ever.

I think some people who die young get this icon status even if they sucked. I think eventually, Nirvana would have broken up and even though the original GNR isn't together, Axl is still standing. Who's the loser now? I think Cobain should have shot his wife first and then himself. I'm pretty sure she was one of the reasons he killed himself.

Whatever! I actually prefer Axl being the way he is. He does his shit and keeps his life private. I think we have too many douche bags out there who can't keep their shit together and we have to hear about it over and over again, ex. L. Lohan. God save me from these jerks who get all the press.

  7. Hmm,... Wonder what the rest of Poison think about all of this? Where the fuck would Brett be without them? Taco Johns, perhaps?

Hey, Bret loves his Poison mates. I've seen Poison so many times in the past 10 years and because these guys give 110% on stage and have an awesome time, so do we fans! I never thought that of all the 80's bands, Poison would be one of the ones to last over 20 years, but seeing them live, I totally understand why.

The guys know Bret loves to go on the road and entertain his many many fans, but they also know that Poison is very important to him.

Bret will always be a huge part of Poison along with CC, Bobby and Rikki, but for now, Bret wants to go it alone. I think what the guys been through in his personal life, he's entitled to do whatever the hell he wants!

As for playing Welcome to the Jungle, great for Bret! That song was and always will be the BEST hard rock song of this century and beyond! I know one day when I become a grandparent, my grandchild will be rockin to it as well!

  8. Today is a very sad day for all of us metal/hard rock fans. Dio was on of the forefathers of heavy metal. He had such a unique and powerful voice. It was such an inspiration just to listen to him and his music.

His wife Wendy confirmed Dio's death at 7:45 a.m. this morning. She said many family members and friends were able to say their goodbyes. Dio died peacefully in his sleep. Metal will never be the same from his death.

Dio was diagnoised with stomach cancer and was having chemo treatments. Sadly, he died anyway.

I wonder why doctors insist on putting so many patients through horrible chemo treatments and then they die anyway. What is the point of it all?

    This news sucks big time.

It was a very sad day when the Rev from A7X passed away and now Dio. I know there is no comparison, but both of these men meant a lot to me and I'm sure many many other fans.

Dio was one of a kind and no matter if he was solo or the frontman to Black Sabbath or Heaven and Hell, the man was awesome and always put on the most amazing performances and wrote the most amazing songs!

Dio is now my Rainbow in the Dark!

Rest in peace! I do hope you are in a better place.

  9. They tour the States every four years. And according to my math, they will be touring once again this year.

    2002

    2006

    2010

    Makes sense.

Well that's just great, but they never came to Dallas or any other Texas city.

  10. If GNR came to Dallas they would have their pick of venues. We have all sizes. The new House of Blues has had many artists play there and the sound is awesome.

I just saw Bullet for My Valentine and they sold the place out. Their new cd, Fever, debut at #3 on the Billboard Charts and they were so happy to be playing the House of blues.

I agree, if a US tour would happen, Axl would have to be content with playing smaller venues. Many acts that were huge years ago, have come to Dallas and played smaller venues.

The US fans don't trust Axl much. The last supposed full tour was back in 2002 and we all know how well that went. I'm hoping now that Axl is older and hopefully wiser, he will consider a US tour and play smaller venues like in the old days and get the fans to trust him again. Maybe then if a new cd is ever released, GNR might be able to play bigger venues here in the US again.

I honestly don't think there will be a US tour. Sixx Am is supposed to do a new cd and since they share a guitar player, then it seems unlikely that GNR will tour the US after the European tour. Besides it'll be almost a year and I doubt Axl will want to continue after a year. lol

Whatever. I have many favorites bands that continue to tour Dallas so I'm good.

I'm just so excited that A7X have decided to tour with Mike the drummer from Dream Theatre filling in for the late Rev. I'm so glad they actually want to play new music for their fans. Maybe Axl can take a lesson from the younger bands out there.

  11. I have a bad feeling that once the tour in Europe is over, Axl will call it quits. I would be so surprised if GNR actually did a full US tour. I mean they played that surprise show in NYC and I think that's as far as Axl needs to go in the US.

I would be really sad if GNR decided to end the tour after Europe. I figured Axl would say they've been on the road for almost a year, so that's it. In a way I don't blame him, since unfortunately Axl and the new GNR don't get the same attention and admiration they seem to get everywhere else and that sucks.

Maybe if Axl agreed to play smaller venues, US fans would trust him again and come out and support him. I know if GNR came to Dallas, I would go to any venue and pay whatever just to see Axl once. Maybe one day that will happen, but in the meantime, I've got plenty of favorite bands who do tour the US and that's something to look forward to!

  12. I should make another thread about Axl's shoes.

That would actually be better because I do actually want to know what kind his red and black style shoes are so I can look for them.

    ^^ red ones

Thank you for making me laugh! lol

I particularly like the green ones. Who knew Axl was so hip and stylish with his crazy colored shoes! :)

I know this is off subject, but the other day we posted messages regarding the volcano and if it would hold up the GNR European tour. I was thinking about Axl and thought to myself Axl stating "Thanks fo the lameass volcano I'm staying home". I just thought I'd amuse myself that day.

  13. I was thinking about this too since the scientists are saying there's no way to tell how long the volcano will continue to erupt.

I read today that the British navy have sent out 2 of their warships to get British citizens from the US to bring them back home.

Some so called experts said it might take at least a week for the volcano to quiet down and then airspace to and from Europe will open up again.

I'm worried that Bullet for My Valentine might not make it to the US and I am seeing them in Dallas on May 7. I only hope they are already in the US.

Maybe Axl can take a boat to Europe. I know I did read in the local newspaper that some musicians had cancelled some concerts in Europe due to the ash.

I would hope for all the fans that by the summer festivals this problem will be solved or at least okay enough for the airspace to be open again. The airlines are losing millions of dollars a day because of it. Not to mention, those poor people and animals in Iceland.

Mother Nature is a nasty bitch when she wants to be. I think we humans better start taking care of our planet before it's too late.

  14. Because of a few stupid jerks who have to thrown things on stage without any regard for fans or the band they paid to see, here in Dallas, every drink has to be in a plastic cup, including water.

This is one of the reasons I don't do pit. Those poor fans get all kinds of shit thrown on them by the other fans behind them. It makes everyone pissed off and disrupts the show. don't they realize throwing anything with force can hurt someone if they hit them directly?

Some people are just too stupid to realize the consequences of their actions.

I'm was so glad when Bach got that fan thrown out for throwing a bottle at him during one of the SA shows. That guy just wasted a lot of money and never got to see GNR.

  15. blabbermouth.net has Axl falling/sliding during Knocking on Heaven's door. Luckily for Axl he landed on his ass. the crowd clapped and Axl got up and continued with the song.

Also at the same show, Bach got a so called fan thrown out for throwing shit on the stage during his performance. He said to the crowd if the guy wasn't thrown out of the concert, he wouldn't continue and Axl wouldn't come out either.

After a few minutes, security got the guy out and Bach told the crowd to say bye bye asshole. lol

It's only rock and roll but you gotta love it!

  16. Axl always was a good looking guy. I think he will always be cool and will probably age very well.

Look at the stones and Robert Plant. Rock and roll makes men age well and still look sexy at any age. Look at the Crue. Tommy still looks like a kid and Nikki is still super sexy. Vince to me doesn't look all that great and he's had how many facelifts. you can't mess with the aging process. it looks fake. Besides, men have always aged better than women. it's a fact of life.

  17. It was weird that they showed the GNR band of 20 years ago. Why didn't they show the new GNR?

Anyway, it is nice to see Axl being interviewed and being so nice. :)

It's a shame Axl doesn't get the same respect in the US. :(

  18. I don't think the personalities would mesh well.

I kind of think they would. Sharon has the same sort of "Fuck You" attitude as Axl.

.....when those two "fuck you" attitudes clash against each other though, you'd have trouble.

I feel exactly the same way. Both Axl and Sharon are strong headed people and I don't think either one of them like being told what to do. lol Luckily for Ozzy he was pretty good at following Sharon's directions. I doubt Axl would be so willing to do things her way. I've seen dvds of Ozzfest and many bands are afraid of her, because it's her way or the high way and she has fired many bands or refused to let them tour on Ozzfest because they didn't follow her rules.

although, I would love to see her and Axl try it out for awhile. You never know what could happen, but I bet it wouldn't be boring to see!
