  1. IMO, it is because he was surprised that CD didn't do as well as he thought it would. I personally think it is every bit as good as the Illusions, and that the album would have re-cemented GnR's old spot in the rock and roll world. 8-10 million copies sold, 3-4 top 10 rock hits. I'm still surprised that it didn't do better, or that more fans didn't embrace the album. There are so many songs off the album that are better than songs that were mainstream rock hits.

I'd guess it was frustration with working with the label (something that has been the case since 1987) and frustration that the world didn't embrace CD. So now he is in no hurry to go through that process again.

Which is a crying shame. Because I think that millions of fans would love any music that Axl put out.

OH - no, disregard everything I just wrote.

Axl isn't releasing new music because he has artistic integrity and only sell outs release albums on a consistent basis. Axl will release the music when he is so inspired to do it - and if that is every 10 years or every 20 years, it is only because he is a true artist and has respect for the music. When he has 14 songs that touch his soul - then he will release an album. Until then, we should all bow down and respect and worship the fact that he has such artistic integrity that he isn't willing to compromise on his music vision.

CD is an average album, I didn't like it so much...couple of good songs others bullshit :)

  2. I was wondering did the RIR2011 performance raise any tensions after the show inside the band? What did they think about Axl's behaviour for example

during patience?? And you can always ask why did the old gnr members left the band, was Axl too difficult to handle and perhaps there was musical differences so I wonder

will history repeat itself to nuguns also, I hope not but....

  3. Wow. The NR clip is like nothing I've seen from Axl before. On a whole, compare Axl of last night to Axl of last year or 2006 etc: Is this the same guy? The Axl in 2006 looked like a guy ready to take over the world. Last year he came back heftier, but looked badass, and performed incredibly.

I think the original poster is on to something. I didn't think of it before, but I think Axl does have a drug problem, prescribed or otherwise. Maybe health problems: thyroid or some metabolic problems or something. But something isn't right.

This guy went from giving the best performances of his career a year ago, to what we saw at Rio last night. I don't think this was just an "off night" either.

If he needs medication to function, that's great. A lot of people do, and it's a really good thing. But, there are ways to medicate without it hindering you like this. Time for Axl to find a new psychiatrist.

And if it's a self medicating thing, then people in his inner circle need find a way to get through to him and get him on track.

I could say maybe he was drunk or something, but have we ever seen Axl like this before? Never. Even during his bad performances, he is crisp and powerful, giving it his all.

When he performed NR, it was downright hilarious and endearing. The funniest part was when he mumbled the words to try and pass it on as part of the song, and then he looked straight toward the front of the stage, like he was saying, where is those damn teleprompters when I need them, DAMN IT!!!! and as far as him having these up and down moments, if we havent excepted it by now we may never, just listen to scraped and know his life is a roller coaster. I hope that he is not on drugs, he is such a private person, the world may never know, I just hope beta taking care of him the right way, and making sure he is alright since she has the biggest influence over him.

Yeah, I'm wondering how much influence this Beta has on Axl, I only know she is Axl's "mother" from LAX incident and a housekeeper or something...I really wonder what type of people is Axl surrounded with, any ideas?

  4. I haven't given up, am just in shock though. I've never seen a performer forget his lyrics, not just a performer but Axl! He's played November Rain and Patience over 100 times, and he has no excuse for showing up out of shape like that.

dont try to be a smartass, but, ive seen Axl messing up the lyrics lot of times... but yes, the show was kinda weird, i think Axl was looking at something during NR that caught his eye and distracted him... dunno what happened...

    top hat

Maybe Slash was in the audience =)

  5. The sad thing to this is that this whole situation puts gnr fans to different camps, to those who support Axl and to those who criticise Axl's odd behaviour and I don't like how

gnr has evolved to this joke...I mean, no promotion, interview from Axl, no new songs, same setlist for 10 years...Old guns did a lot more than this new "act"...

  6. all the critics here are fucking crazy. I watched the whole stream live and thought it fucking rocked! sure there were problems with the singing, but you know what? axl ALWAYS has vocal issues when playing live. he had always sounded bad and if you don't beleive me go watch some UYI stuff.

    Truth

Actually the truth is here, here is your UYI stuff =) Do you still say after hearing this Axl sounded bad? =)

  7. Messing up lyrics you've known for decades in front of 100,000+ people and then carrying on with one awesome vocal performance is hardly acting like a child...

Just watch end of november rain, Axl is so pissed off that doesn't even want to sing it, is it professional singer in action? Look how Bubmlefoot just enjoys his playing next to Axl..

  8. Thing is.. It's not the fact that there are setbacks (weather, no gigs for a while etc, vocal problems, technical problems, missing a lyric) that make this such a bad show (although they don't help, obviously). It's the way that Axl chooses to handle them that's horribly unprofessional and quite honestly just plain shameful.

He acted like a 6-year old, who is pissed when mommy don't buy candy, fucking ridicilous!! And this comes from a huge gnr and Axl fan..

  9. This moanin' and cryin' bullshit is almost enough for me to leave this fuckin' place. I have too much respect for the band and the site to let some pussy start a wildfire over somethin' he/she knows fuck all about. You waited over an hour for GNR and complained, they hit the stage. You complain. They play Estranged. You complain. You cocksuckers wouldn't know talent if it kicked ya in the ass. Axl is getting older, doesn't rehearse, had time off. We don't have any clue as to what he's been up to during his downtime. We also don't if he had a cold, flu, family issues etc. Stop speculating. Go watch some other band cuz u ain't no gunner I'll tell ya that much. Just a bunch of punks tryin' to stir shit up.

    FUCK YOU!!

Get in the ring, motherfucker =)

  10. First off let me just say that to hear Axl sing Estranged again after 18 fucking years was amazing, but i think what the problem was at the end of the show was years of regret. My opinion is that at that moment when we seen him stare off blankly in the distance the way he did he was thinking about playing with the old band and wishing they were up there with him. Again i am all for the new band and new songs and moving forward but it is my opinion that he just really misses playing with Izzy,Duff, And Slash and he is finally realizing that/

    +1 =)

  11. I think that Axl handled the whole situation bad. I mean, why he didn't sing end lyrics of november rain? And acted like a baby when singing patience, just standing there and watching to a horizon but

again it's nothing new on his part. Just look the gnr history like the show in Paris -92, where he is pissed off, skip to 22.03 and see for yourself..
