  1. Ps3 login? It keeps saying error occurred an wont sign me in. Don't wanna watch on my comp or phone when I halve a 652 inch bravia with klipsche surround

Yeah that's my problem. Want to watch on my big screen LCD, tried using Webtop on my Bionic and it just doesn't have enough RAM. I can watch it on my PC but the screen isn't great and it has this bug where video gets all glitched after about an hour. So now I'm downloading it, converting to mp4 then will put on my Bionic's SD card and watch it via HDMI that way. Fingers crossed.

BTW no need to convert, MX Video Player app can play f4v files if you're on Android. Free.

  2. Instead of rewatching it all again, I'm just downloading using Firefox and the DownloadHelper add-on. Still, its super slow, so I'm downloading the first 3 parts now.

Can you explain how you got this to work? It doesn't work for me. Says it's not a supported site.

If you use Firefox, just search for the Video Download Helper. Once installed, click on the icon and chose a folder where you want to save the file. Thats it.

For me it works just fine. Im using the latest version of both Firefox and Download Helper.

Yeah I did all that. Still doesn't work.

OK, I figured it out. If you have the Adblock plugin, you need to disable it.

  3. Just a PSA.

At least, so far it's still working. Tommy playing Motivation now.

    Finally!

"Thank you very much, Happy New Year, fuckers!" - Tommy

I'm sorry but this is still the greatest fucking band in the world. Maybe the last rock band in some ways.

It keeps going. Every now and then it reloads and adds more time. On Richard's solo now.

I feel silly live-blogging a show the day after, but I want folks to know the stream is still working. On LALD now.

If it gets choppy, exit full screen and then re-maximize it. I know it sounds crazy but it works.

  4. Bump. iClips shat the bed worse than my phone during Civil War in Nashville. No point blaming management though. It was obviously a tech failure.

It appears to be working now though, so see you in about 3 hours. ;)

<edit>Check that, only about 27 minutes still. A plague on all their houses.</edit>

Hey guys, it keeps going after 27 mins even though it doesn't look like it would. Looks like it may be the full show. Try it!

    Choppy though.

Smooth again now. At the end of Estranged.

Love the footage of dolphins at the end of Estranged. It's like the band acknowledging the dolphin bomb. Not sure which came first though? I never paid attention to the footage before.

Damn, Axl is really tearing it up. Loved the purple mic stand, he's on to a neon blue one now on Rocket Queen.

OK iClips, all is forgiven if this continues to work for 24 hrs (wouldn't mind a deadline extension though, to make up for all the delays).

  5. Hey, Guys.I saw on the Chinese Democracy Facebook tour page that if we're subscribed to the official newsletter,we'd get a 60% off code for tonights stream.Does anybody know anything about that?? I mean, $9.99 isn't bad but I'd much rather pay a little less.Plus, I'm flying out tomorrow for the NYE show, anyways.Anybody meeting up anywhere at The Hard Rock tomorrow?

Check your email. ;) Mine just came through in the last hour or so. I was on the fence about ordering since I'm on the east coast, but for this price I can't say no.

  6. Hmm so Beta, Fernando and Vanessa have been managing GNR since December 2010. Judging by the results, they have been doing a fantastic job so far. The North American tour has been mind-blowing. If they can manage a new GNR release in the next year or so it will be a major victory for the band and the fans.

No, December *this* year, as of, like, a few weeks.

Wow, I totally misread that. So that means it was around the time of the Nashville concert, I guess. Crazy, it seems like you don't normally hear about this kind of thing until much later.

Still, so far so good it seems. The Pacific Northwest concerts looked amazing on YouTube.

  8. Like lots of CITR- but have a hard time making sense of the outro (i.e. just wish the lyrics were a little more understandable/discernable).

Pretty sure based on my own research/interpretation combined with comments Dexter has made on the forums that the final verses (starting with "On an ordinary day") are about the murder of John Lennon. His killer, Mark David Chapman (who was 25 at the time) supposedly bought a copy of "The Catcher in the Rye" on the day of the murder and wrote "This is my statement" in the book, signing it "Holden Caulfield". Chapman was found reading the book at the scene of the shooting (outside The Dakota apartment building in NYC where Lennon lived) when the police arrived.

There has been a lot of speculation over the years as to how much "The Catcher in the Rye" contributed to the murder. Chapman initially plead not guilty by reason of insanity, then later changed his plea to guilty and was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison with psychological treatment. He has made several statements demonstrating his obsession with the book and also urging others to read it. Dexter seems to be one of those who think the book has some sort of pernicious influence, and that the book and its author J. D. Salinger therefore share some of the blame for Lennon's murder.

Personally, having read Catcher and all of Salinger's other books, and also being a fan of John Lennon and the GNR song, I don't think there's much to the theory. Chapman was clearly delusional and could have been just as easily influenced by any other intense work of art. There's nothing overtly violent in the book or suggestive of murder, and even if there were, I find it a stretch to blame a book for something like that. Ironically, Dexter/Axl seems to be making the opposite argument in "Shackler's Revenge", which he has described as partly about school shootings and the fact that the media made a lot of hay over one school shooter's statement that his favorite song was Mr. Brownstone. But none of that in any way detracts from my enjoyment of "Catcher in the Rye", which is an awesome song.

  9. Because he's not the innocent victim, like he's tried to paint himself as. He's responsible for the break up of the original band, his 4-5 year isolation in his mansion, and the long wait for chinese democracy. He blames the old members, the record labels, management, etc. but the music business has been around for a long time, and no one else seems to have the same problems as him...

    Dexter bait

Is this post serious? I hope not...that's so retarded I don't even know where to start. If I was a nerd I would put the facepalm picture up right now.

If you were a nerd you would be calling people retarded on an internet message board ... oh wait. ;)

  10. Best version of "You Could Be Mine" that you ever heard? I would venture to say that last year with Duff at the 02 was better, but everyone has an opinion.

Link? I would love to see it to compare.

Am I in the minority when I say that Axl looks 1000 times younger without the hat and glasses?

It's almost shocking how young he looks in that footage at the end.

  11. Loaded and some Guns + Picture:

That was epic, some of the best footage of Axl from the whole tour in the second half. Great shot of Axl drop-kicking a dolphin at 7:26. Duff coming out at 7:58 is just epic. This was the best version of You Could Be Mine I've ever heard. Axl seemed energized by Duff's being there.

  12. beter sound

    what is he singing?

    Epic! rock3

Pretty sure he's singing "Happy trails to you ... until we meet again ... motherfucker!!!" :rofl-lol:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Happy_Trails_(song)

Anyone have a good quality video of the speech he gives after this about the Vancouver riot? Would love to hear that! And somebody post a vid of Civil War with Duff! What don't you Nucks have smartphones? :tongue2:

Oh and BC bud is the best! :rofl-lol:

  13. PLAY COMMA

    PLAY SEMICOLON

    :rofl-lol:

Seriously though, I would love to hear this lineup play Coma. Much more so than OMG. Just my personal preference though, and I'm sure the last verse of Coma is a bitch to sing live.

  14. Given all the inaccuracies in his initial and follow up piece, I'm given to wonder how much of his story about "being banned" is true in the first place.

It's ok though, I left a comment with a link to my music blog where REAL reviews of the 3 GN'R shows I went to are located.

Awesome blog post! I'm jealous you got to see three shows -- I made it to two (Atlanta and Nashville), but then again I did get to witness the surprise performance of Civil War in Nashville which was pretty goddamn epic. rock3 Completely agree with your assessment of the current GN'R lineup and Axl's vocals.

For others who may have missed the link in the comments, check it out here. Much better reading than Jeff Napier's hissy fit.

  15. Such a great freakin' song. So glad too see it being played live again. This song is as important now as it was then. Even more so in my book.

It's true -- how many major artists are commenting on important issues these days? Everything in entertainment is so superficial and vapid. Meanwhile we've got two wars going on.
