  1. Axl also says he want to get to the point where he can do 3hour shows. do you think this is something that Axl still wants?

You know, I think Rock in Rio would be the perfect place to really get that idea going. I certainly wouldn't mind. :xmassrudolph:

  2. Wasn't Axl starting shows at like 1 am and later last year when he toured South America? I thought he even started one show sometime past 2 am.

    Yes. 1AM+.

São Paulo concert was booked to 22PM and it started 00h40AM. And I was there since 1PM. It was hard.

Is there just so much love for Axl in Brazil that he can get away with that or were people on the verge of rioting?

In Rio they came on at around 2 AM. And it was scheduled for 10 PM too. But Baz played until 11:30 or something. I guess everything started late. People booed during the wait and the intro, but once the band started playing they just enjoyed themselves. I didn't see anyone trying to start trouble.

  3. The only problem I see with this is that there will be more or less 200 thousand people and it would be a disaster having a riot there.

Actually, this year the limit is 100 thousand people.

And there is going to be an amusement park in the place, a place with electronic music and another one with jazz and whatever. Whoever gets sick of waiting, just fuck off to one of these places. Of course there is always going to be an ass who will want to start trouble... :shrugs:

  4. In 2001, I believe DirecTV had the pay per view thing, and it was on Multishow as well.

So my guess is if Sky has the rights this year, it will be on pay per view, as well as on Multishow channel.

But I have no concrete information for you, sorry.

What about Viewers Choice in Canada?

I posted later on the rest of the article in the OP, which states that they still don't know how Sky is going to do it, but most likely it will be alternative channels like DirecTV in 2001.

I myself have Sky, but I have no idea how it works, like, if what we get in Brazil in pay per view you guys can get too. As soon as I find more information I'll post it here for you.

And someone most definitely will record it. I'm seeing if a friend of mine can come over and record it here, since no one will be home at the time... well, my dad will be, but he won't record it for me. Anyway, if I don't record it, someone else will. Plus, Multishow has reruns forever and ever.

And yes, Multishow has an HD channel, but I'm not sure the programming is the same as the normal one. But Rock in Rio will probably be on both.

  5. Multishow, Globo and SKY will transmit Rock in Rio 2011.

Rock in Rio is the biggest music festival of Brazil. Initially performed in Rio de Janeiro, the event already had three editions and moved to Europe in 2004, being made in Portugal and Spain. In nine editions, gathered about 5 million people. In september 23 24, 25, 30 and october 1 and 2, the festival will be back to Rio de Janeiro and promises to bring international artists.

The broadcasts on pay TV and network TV for the Rock in Rio 2011 are already set. In broadcast television, the transmission will be made by Rede Globo; who should transmit daily specials of concerts with compact sets. In pay TV, rights have gone to Multishow and SKY. Multishow shall transmit the concerts of the World Stage (where the main attractions will perform, including Guns N' Roses) live...............

Yes, I just found the rest of this article, it says:

Multishow will broadcast the concerts of the "World Stage" (where the main national and international atractions will perform) live and in full, in addition to flashes from "Tenda Brasil" (with performances of national artists), "Tenda Raízes" (with the best of regional music from many countries) and "Tenda Eletrônica" (with the best DJs from Brazil and all over the world). We still don't know how SKY will broadcast it, but it is believed that alternative channels will be created with live broadcasts of the concerts from Palco Mundo ("World Stage"), "Tenda Raízes" and "Tenda Brasil", as they did in 2001 on DirecTV.

  7. I can see them just playing the new stuff off CD that people in Rio havent heard. Sorry, Shacklers, If The World, This I Love.

Uhm, We've heard it, yes. They came down here last year, remember?

Or do you mean they'll play songs they didn't play on the setlist last year? Cause they did play Sorry and TIL.

I won't mind hearing them again, but I wouldn't mind hearing something new either. Or something old that hasn't been played in a long time.

I don't care, just happy to be able to go to another one :)

  8. I'm pretty sure system of a down will headline since they won that vote by a mile. I don't see gunners on the list, hopefully they get to be part of this.

    That vote didn't mean shit.

On the pop vote, Britney Spears won by a mile and Avril Lavigne came in second. About 4 days later they confirmed Shakira and Lenny Kravitz. Lenny had 1.99% of votes and Shakira had 2.79%.

I'm guessing they had them lined up already and just wanted an estimate on how many fans will show up :shrugs:

Edit: Avril won and Britney came in second, if it makes a difference.

  9. FUCK SOAD are ahead by quite a bit now keep voting people!!! we need a pro-shot Concert of the new band!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes we need. I really want them to play Rock In Rio even though I have no chance to be there. What could be better than proshot of Axl and boys in current shape + 200k jumping Brazilians?

BTW, has the poll result any effect on if they're playing it or not?

Well, since it's on the official RIR website, I presume the production will at least try HARDER to get the winning band, since it will theoretically sell more tickets.

  10. Can someone tell me how many votes/ % we have?? I'm still blocked. LOL

Try this and vote again http://ultrareach.com/

    Edit:

    Guns N'Roses 29.97% (181,948 votes)

    System of a Down 30.03% (182,346 votes)

I downloaded it, trying to figure it out

Meanwhile, I got blocked again. Shit. I think I can only vote like 50 times before I get blocked.

    Edit: Ok, got it. :P

  11. " we have received too many votes from you. You will be unblocked after a cooling off period." lol

    Bastards :anger:

They told me that too... but I'll be back.

No matter how much we up the votes, SOAD is always 4K behind. Fuck.
