  1. Which show did the tornado hit? Anyone know?

I searched and found this, looks like Rio 2010

    http://bravewords.com/news/sebastian-bach-band-forced-to-borrow-guns-n-roses-gear-as-equipment-truck-rolls-off-cliff-in-brazil

Yes it was, I was there in line to get in while the stage collapsed.

But what did Ron say? Anyone care to summarize? Can't watch it right now. Thanks

Edit: Ok, I saw it. It's just 10 min, I thought it was more.

Nothing new to me. The show was cancelled and the next one started at about 4 am if I recall correctly. Thank God I wasn't there. But then, when they came back to Rio a month later, there was no tornado, just a little drizzle, and Axl got on stage 2 am anyway. Bach finished his set at about 9:30 and we just stood there waiting. Also, they opened the gates earlier, at 5 pm and I couldn't take my power bars in, and they didn't sell food inside, so yeah, that was a fun day.

But last year he was on time! caught me by surprise, I was sitting down, having a snack (learned how to fool the guards) and expecting to be there for a while and it started. I was like "something is not right". I was home by 1 am. Blew my mind.

  2. Fernando -

You probably won't come back here anytime soon and thus probably won't read this anytime soon

But even the 'few' you talk about who engage in racism or hateful posts aren't really doing it out of 'hate' for you, Axl, or your family. I don't think anyone really hates Axl or his family. But it comes from a great deal of frustration. For years, a lot of the 'hateful' people were loyal supporters, some were even ardent defenders, of Axl.

From an objective standpoint, you have to understand how divisive Axl continuing the GN'R name without Slash, Duff or Izzy being there is for some people - and yet many of the 'haters' today were at one time either supportive or open to it. I think a lot of these wounds have festered because of a lack of communication, and because of remarks made, at one time or another, that seemed to indicate that TB viewed/views the fanbase as enemies.

There's also people who feel burned and embarrassed, that they supported Axl even in what seemed to be a dubious idea - continuing GN'R - only to have what they see as embarassment after embarassment (one album since Slash and Duff left; VMAs 2002, cancelled tour, Rio 2011, etc).

A lot of the people here you see being hateful, they want to see Axl at his best. They want to see Axl being productive and really showing the rock world who the best frontman still is. In their eyes, instead, for the last few years, Axl has gotten out of shape, and hasn't seemed to really give his all. This is a guy who has 'victory or death' tattooed on him - to see him 'half ass' it is kinda like, for one, where is that guy, where is the fire? Secondly, it feels offensive to the fans who do pay for tickets, to see Axl either stammer through a song or sound like 'Mickey'.

When Axl talked up 'new Guns' as it began, he talked about it being a vision. Basically, taking Guns further than Slash was willing to. But instead, from our POV, Axl's only done one record in the 19 years since Slash quit, and he has the band playing mainly the hits by the old band in Vegas Residencies, reminiscent of Elvis' latter days. We don't want to see Axl reduced to a nostalgia act, not when he's still relatively a young man.

The people here who come off hateful, are just angry because they see Axl not using his talent. Not being willing to speak with us and let us know what's what, which shouldn't be TOO hard for him. And as far as the 'racism' goes? This is a band who released a song that has lines which are against black people, immigrants and homosexuals - of course there's gonna be some fans who are racist, and unfortunately, due to your closeness to Axl and the fact that your mother manages the band, people ultimately blame her and scapegoat her for Axl's decisions (similar to the way people blame Yoko Ono for the Beatles' breakup).

But genuine hatred here? No. But genuine frustration, yes.

Absolutely fucking fantastic post that sums up my feelings exactly, and no doubt most other's on here. I was the most ardent, loyal, die-hard supported and defender of 'new Guns' and still would be if Axl put out music, videos and toured it with the fire of 2010.

    Yes, yes and yes.

He doesn't even need the fire, cause when we're there we have fun ( I do at least). It's when you see it later that you go "Oooh".

But some news, music and videos once every five years at least would be nice, yes.

  3. I don't understand why Ashba could just come out and say it and Bumble still doesn't after a fucking year. Grow a pair.

I like bumblefoot a lot, but his attitude towards all this has been very disappointing.

I do not see how the fuck Axl can do anything next year, really. He had a full band and did nothing, now that he has to find TWO guitar players, well NOW things are gonna get going... pfff

Such a shame Axl, you have so much talent, write great songs, if you gave a fuck you could sing great again, but you just waste it all.

Edit: Don't see a reunion either. I mean, the man said "not in this lifetime". When he says SOON it takes 14 years, not in this lifetime would probably take 3 lifetimes. And IF it happens, I don't think it would be any good after all the hate that went on there...

  4. should i read the books before or after watching the dvd's ?

    I'd say before.

Just elaborating a little more: I read the books between seasons 3 and 4. It was fine, cause at that point the show was pretty much faithful to the books. But I would have preferred to have read it before all the seasons. The books are more detailed (so much so I have to read them again cause I read the comments here of people who are reading them now and the theories and I see how much I have fucking forgotten or just didn't pay attention to cause I thought it was just some sort of filler and now it makes more sense and is important) and you understand the show much better, as they skip through some things.

  5. Last night's episode was fantastic! Now that the show is getting to the real action, NBC cancels it.

There's so much more story to tell. The guy with the pigs is so damn freaky. Can't stand to hear him talk. IF I was his sister, I would kill him in his sleep and inherit all the money and disappear.

But her father left the money to a male heir only. If there are none, the money goes to charity or something. That's why she tried to get pregnant last season. If she had a boy, she could kill him and take the money. But now she has to put up with him cause he cut out her uterus.

It's been a while since last season, but I think that's it. :P

  6. IMO Theon could have done more. Actually, SHOULD. And Sansa being there made it harder cause she's not as fragile as Jeyne so he could be the total hero as he should to redeem himself. Also didn't like the fact that she went in all strong and "fuck yeah vengeance is mine" and then got fragile again. She had to know she wasn't gonna get lucky AGAIN and have Ramsay be as kind as Tyrion. Especially since it's fucking Ramsay.

Also don't get WTF the Boltons were thinking. I mean, Sansa is already married to Tyrion and wanted for the murder of Joffrey, they're technically still on the Lannister side so how would they get Cersei's approval for that? Anyway...

But I do get they can't hire one million actors, too much money and bla bla. Also, ten episodes is not enough to do everything.

  7. I have to rewatch season 2. Can't remember what was the last scene with Gideon, so I can undertand why Hannibal is eating (ate? will eat?) him slowly. They took too damn long and I have trouble remembering details. :P

Edit: Ok just read it online and omg I don't remember a LOT of things. Definitely have to rewatch
