  1. Kiefer's a bad ass.

In addition the fact that he's played a villain in every movie he's ever been in, he played Slash once and has been the only one to authentically do so. He's a great guitar player and even has his own custom model double cut Gibson on wholesale.

    Keifer looks spunky here

  2. 4. Robert Smith - The Cure

    rock3

    yep

Aww damn, I forgot Nick Cave!

I saw Nick Cave in a tiny little upstairs room in Sydney back in 1985. I was too stoned to remember the whole gig, but I must say those were the good old days for small clubs and great local artists.

  3. are you not a bit old to be jumping around your bedroom acting like axl? :D

:rofl-lol: isn't axl a bit old then, going by your logic

not realy m8, axl is doing it on a stage and getting paid, it looks like this guy is jumping around in his bedroom with a gnr tshirt and bandanna in his you could be mine video

i was laughing at the image you conjured up in my mind about this guy... i see your point, but hey - age can often just be an external thing.

    edit: more power to him

  4. Hated Into The Wild.

The guy wasn't a hero. He was a tool.

What he did in Alaska was reckless and dangerous and irresponsible.

There is a difference between going on an adventure or a spiritual journey and just being wreckless and stupid.

Rescue people DIE trying to save people like him.

What he did was both brave and wrecklessly stupid. I think the film conveys that nicely. :shrugs:

i agree with this. i bought the vinyl.. just to keep. I like sean penn (director) , and eddie veder did a great job on the soundtrack. It's one of those quirky films that a lot of people don't get.

  5. If you want overpriced hardware, yeah

not really over priced when you consider how virus proof they are. I've been running our intel mac for 3 years without any anti virus whatsoever on it. And my kids go on all the popular teenage sites that are rife with malware, spyware and the like. I haven't had to fork out one cent since we bought it. You get what you pay for buddy, and in the long run it pays for itself if your smart.

  6. i run a Mac and it's been a while since I had a pc. but i recall I used to do a search "all files and folders" with keywords of whatever you want to remove.. then you just manually delete them as they come up in the results. I suppose there's a quicker way to do that these days, cause it does take a while to search your whole hard drive (especially when you already have a ton of shit in there to search through) :shrugs:

  7. here he is like you might not have seen him before

    - this would have been not that long after he was Davy Jones & the Kingbees, when he recorded an album full of odd quirky songs about things like gnomes; he had that typical enchanted storyteller persona back then. I guess that's the basis from which he evolved his future characters and songs. Definitely a man born into his destiny. The world would never have been the same without him, I'm sure no one could disagree with that. And he has aged so gracefully into his maturity. How very well he handled his fame and fortune, always with a smile on his face.

    ... And this, lol

  8. Buying bootlegs is wrong. The people that sell you the dvd is making money off of the bands back. Most of the dvd's i've got say that they are to be freely traded and not sold.

if you say so, i won't argue with that. your biz. k.

  9. It's pretty simple.

To start with it's best to do a few B+P's (i'll cover that in a minute) to get some shows. Everyone has to start somewhere and alot of people will generaly help you out. Then move on to trading.

First off, a B+P is where you contact someone, say myself, and ask if they would be able to do a b+p. You would then send the person the number of dvds you'd like. So say you want 5 shows that are 3 1 dvd shows and 2 that are 2 dvd shows, you would send 7 blank disks to me. You would also include a return envelope with your address on. Also include the money to post it back. I would then burn the shows and post it back to you. Then just wait for your shows to arrive. Do this a few times and you should start to build up a nice little collection.

Okay, so you now have a few dvds and want to trade. start by searching forum's for traders. HTGTH have a bootleg list thread and so does gnrsource.com. Here, just search trade in membrobilia.

If you find something you would like on someones list you then contact the person for a trade. Generaly if you contact someone you have to send first. But as you get more known people will aggree to send at the same time. This is something to work out with each person though.

Normally when i contact someone for a trade i put something along the lines of:

Hey, i was browsing trading sites and come accross your list *enter address of where you found the list here*.

I've noticed that you have got X shows that i'd like. They are:

    *list them here*

my list can be found here http://www.freewebs.com/ssiscoolbootlegs

Let me know either way please.

    Thanks.

    ssiscool

Then if they aggree to the trade, you copy the show they want and post it off to them. When they have recived your dvd, they will post their dvd to you. Then once you get it, your done.

    Thats basicly it.

    Some tips though,

    1. If you do start trading, keep a list of what shows you have. I've got my website for people to browse but i've also got a MS database that tells me where i've got it stored. for online lists, i recomend http://www.freewebs.com it's real simple. Other sites include db.etree.org and Tapetrader.com. Though i could never get along with those.

    2. Browse trade sites and look up "good traders/bad traders" get to know who to avoid. That way you will be less likely to get ripped off. Also if you do that you can find more traders. I do that every other day to find shows that i want/need.

    3. Post links to your lists and forums but don't spam. Let people know when it's updated. I generaly post on VR forum, htgth, gnrsource.com and The Traders Den.org (TTD is for all kinds of music from Britney Spears though to extreme Metal)

    4. When you have plenty of shows, don't be affraid to help out new people. You were there once.

Thats about it. Drop me a PM if you want to get started, i'll help you out.

you make it sound like it's some sort of honest business... WTF !! People like you are what make buying these things outrageously expensive. Did you ever think of that? Why does everybody have to HAVE everything that everyone else has. Do you feel so inadequately significant without your status symbols? If I just want to see a movie i'll borrow it. I only buy the ones I particularly love. Quality always beats quantity. And, not to mention the drain on the earth's resources. OVER-CONSUMPTION IS NOT KOOL.

To be honest, I dont really understand how the whole trading thing works. There are so many shows I would love to have so could someone fill me in on how to do it?

why on earth do you display a pagan avatar? must be part of the status thing.

  10. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=iq5jCQK47RM&...feature=related

This is pretty killer. I came across it while watching a preview for a remake of the horror movie, The Last House On The Left. Axl must love this cover. The piano on it is brilliant.

it wasn\'t that brilliant.. i nearly fell asleep

lol, :rofl-lol: ha ha. Fucking enjoyed it. Thank you.

  11. NIN/Bowie tour...good memories.

He never gets credit for changing the face of music and taking chances.

He's the reason why Velvet Underground is namedropped in the first place. He saved Lou Reed from being his dad's gofer. "Transformer"? Listen to "Satellite of Love".... Bowie's vocals at the end take it into an awesome direction, plus playing the sax on "Walk on the Wild Side".

^_^ I have exactly that record on my turntable right now.. a gem. Co-produced by Bowie

  12. have you heard much of his early stuff, quirky stuff?

Massive talent, every character he created came from within his soul. Not some made up trendy gimmick. Not many like that. a master storyteller. :shades: rock2
