Man, that was a damn killer show. 7th time seeing them in various lineups, and Axl looks and acts happier than he's ever been. Band was super tight, great set list that really caters to the more hardcore fans, and the sound mix was pretty superb. Everyone and everything was firing on all cylinders. Axl seemed especially talkative. For example, after Madagascar, he talked about people questioning his vocal style on the track when Chinese came out and how he was influenced by The Old Man and The Sea, joked a lot all night about Music City, etc.
I know this is very unpopular to say but I still don't really understand what Slash is doing a lot of the time. He's noodling and shredding on songs that don't call for it, and plays stuff that doesn't even sound remotely like the original parts. Perhaps he's bored so he's just improvising more to keep it fresh but I dunno. I also think it's weird that they're still playing Wichita Lineman lol
