  1. Man, that was a damn killer show. 7th time seeing them in various lineups, and Axl looks and acts happier than he's ever been. Band was super tight, great set list that really caters to the more hardcore fans, and the sound mix was pretty superb. Everyone and everything was firing on all cylinders. Axl seemed especially talkative. For example, after Madagascar, he talked about people questioning his vocal style on the track when Chinese came out and how he was influenced by The Old Man and The Sea, joked a lot all night about Music City, etc. I know this is very unpopular to say but I still don't really understand what Slash is doing a lot of the time. He's noodling and shredding on songs that don't call for it, and plays stuff that doesn't even sound remotely like the original parts. Perhaps he's bored so he's just improvising more to keep it fresh but I dunno. I also think it's weird that they're still playing Wichita Lineman lol
  2. Gonna be there. Super excited. I havent been to this venue before, I didn't even know until right around the time this show was announced that they had even built a soccer stadium lol. Gonna be a great weekend, Ghost is playing in town Sunday!!
  3. Y'all defending Slash's solo have to be purposefully trolling, or being contrarians lol. It is a terrible solo. Honestly probably the worst Slash solo of any GNR song that comes to mind. Embarrassingly bad.
  4. After having listened to it several more times today, my biggest takeaway is that I simply can't believe that's the Slash solo they decided to go with. I mean, im stumped. Its horrendous.
  5. Haha, this is wild to me. You seem to know a little bit about guitar. I hear Brian's tone and phrasing in that original version, painfully obvious to me. Listen to it and listen to his Catcher solo and it sounds identical to me. The tone is unmistakable to me. Like, I would literally bet my life on it lol.
  6. Really? That is insanely clear to me that it's Brian May playing on that original demo. His guitar sound is unmistakable to me. Its sooooo something he would play. I might be imagining it but I was thinking he had confirmed that it was him playing on there. I remember the very first time I listened to it, I was like "that's one of the Brian May songs!!"
  7. Always been a fan of the song, I actually really dig this version, they did the best with this out of the 3 they've redone, but my God, what were they thinking with this Slash solo?? This song begs for an epic Slash solo, but instead, we get 15 seconds of him where it sounds like half his strings are breaking and the other half are way out of tune. How did they hear that and think "that's the one!"?? I didn't expect it to top Brian May's solo (I LOVED his original one), but this is AWFUL. The rest of the song sounds pretty fantastic.
