  1. Wicked Game - Chris Isaak. And covers by Stone Sour and Giant Drag are good too in different ways. Isaak's original is pure sex, the Stone Sour is more obviously a lament, the Giant Drag is like the fury of an angry rejected lover. Cool to see how the same lyrics can be intrepreted in so many ways.

    HIM cover sucks though.

  2. I hope GnR come to the UK this year preferably Glasgow, but i'm willing to travel else where in the UK to see a Guns n Roses Show!

    :)

Glasgow, Edinburgh... wherever in Scotland. Be more than willing to go to Manchester and London. Hell I'd be up for going to France or somewhere else in Europe as long as there are cheap flights and it's after the exams at the end of May. Was considering Sweden, Gary Moore, Aerosmith, W.A.S.P. (saw them in Glasgow in December, they were great, especially considering Blackie had the flu) and Bachman & Turner were tempting but being more expensive than Download and Rock im Park was off-putting.

  3. Hanging out with members of the Black Eyed Peas? Seems him n' Slash have some new mutual friends. "News" about new album will probably be blown out of all proportion (don't mean to be cynical, I'm anxious for new material as much as anybody). Awesome article, pretty positive, bit funny that the editorial forgot to include DJ Ashba's name (new tat sounds cool). Rock on Axl, shows the kids how it's done rock3

  4. 9/12 songs from AFD on there. No Ain't it Fun or Sympathy, which is a shame (only got into GNR when CD came out, bought CD, skipped Greatest Hits and just bought all the albums instead). Cool to see 14 Years and Locomotive on there (always thought Locomotive was around a couple of mins too long but the outro is just beautiful). Think the 1-CD Greatest Hits does the job as a starter well enough though. Don't really see the point of this (if it's actually gonna be released). See the Greatest Hits prominently on the shelves in HMV all the time.

    EDIT: Beautiful packaging/artwork though.

  5. I liked it at first, but now it just sounds like a crappy Stairway to Heaven wannabe (to make it clear, Stairway is one of my favourite songs, the live performance from the Song Remains The Same at least). Still looking forward to rest of album.

Surprised no one has mentioned the remix of The End is the Beginning is the End, The Beginning is the End is the Beginning, from the Watchmen teaser trailer (perfect choice of music, while I may not love his films Zack Snyder sure makes the best damn trailers).

"Rocking the Axl Rose circa 1989 look in New York."

Be pretty cool if Axl decided to rock a Lady GaGa look in return, maybe this one for LALD (would go well with the pyro): http://music.uk.msn.com/photos/photos.aspx?cp-documentid=152281819&page=26

Anybody know of any other examples of people following Axl's fashion? I remember a while back somebody put up a link to a fashion show where the theme was Axl circa Illusions (bicycle shorts, bandana, Nike trainers, etc.).

  7. For now GNR are down for the 12th of June in Sweden Rock according to the preliminary running order, though it says final running order will be released early April. Single-day tickets to be released Monday. I was considering single-day but I'd like to see Aerosmith and Gary Moore as well. Only about a tenner difference (in UK pounds) between the 3 day and the 4 day, best prob to go for 4 day to be on safe side.

  8. already read like three articles like that one where I'm the bad guy =/

I guess it's hell of a lot less of explanations and therefor more comfortable to write about when I am the same as Madison and that I was claiming the exact opposite of what I was actually claiming... three minutes of fame and I'm already trashed to pieces.. wonder how Axl feels

Wonder how Axl feels? wasn't your mention enough? wanna get a personalized rant? then stop beign sarcastic.

I really don't think Revolver was being sarcastic, and instead is showing genuine concern for Axl. All his comments have said what a great time he had and how cool he thought everyone, including Axl, in the Guns camp was. Revolver doesn't need to be needlessly attacked again.

  9. There's been quite a few of these "TBA" CD versions A, B, C, etc. floating around on Amazon UK and other sites ever since CD came out, and all have come to nothing. Don't want to get hopes up too much. Would rather just wait for a new album tbh.

  10. The RS piece at least makes it clear that Axl was attacking the fan (Madison) who was perpetuating the rumour. Nowhere near as badly written as the other piece. And it mentions the surprise gigs too as a positive. Out of the media outlets which still make the effort to report on Guns, RS seems to be one of the better ones.

  11. http://newsblog.thecmuwebsite.com/post/Axl-comments-on-Slash-ban.aspx

The number of errors in this article are mind-boggling. Everything has just been amalgamated together so that it looks like the same fan who got backstage (Revolver) is the same as Madison. And apparently this is the forum on the official website :P

Shoddy journalism at its finest/worst. Found it when I did a Google search for the "latest" on GNR to find stuff on the fashion show. Can understand why Axl would get so pissed off as the media really can take anything and make it worse.

  12. I just got the phone with ticketmaster,They said they were contacted by the promoters and it will be strickly enforced all the way to cell phones.and pat downs etc..this was a supervisor i spoke with and i asked about the other show's in the area and if they were also contacted ,she said NO..only the ACC..for some reason the promoters for the Toronto show want to make sure there is no pictures or recording of this show they lady said to me.She also said she found it strange that a voice mail was sent out to everyone who bought tickets online..i don't have my ticket yet i get mine at the will call center at the ACC,but she said that maybe they forgot to print it on the tickets and want to make sure everyone know's that camera's are not allowed,BUT there was also one other thing she said which really got my attention.and that was maybe there is something else going on at this concert that the promoters Do Not want anyone recording or getting pictures of..Maybe just maybe they are going to be recording part or all of this concert .It is possible,The lady could not confirm this but she did think it was a good reason why they would call people. But she made it a point that it will be strickly enforced what ever that means.I guess time will tell..

"Something else" sounds intriguing. Could just be camera crew filming pro-shot for a DVD.

  13. Lol at that review, talking about Set Me Free...I saw that and had to like triple check the setlist, that would be fuckin hilarious if they just ripped out a Revolver song or two in spite...I would lol so hard.

Not gonna lie, there's a ton of Revolver material I really want to hear Axl sing...

Only one I'd want to hear is Fall to Pieces (not a Velvet Revolver fan, nothing against the musicians, just don't like the music). Like to hear what lyrics he would have written for that. Shame Slash didn't want to work with Axl on that. Guess that's one for the 'reunion' dreams, though the fact that they didn't end up working together on it also makes the lack of a reunion a harsh reality.

Still, can't complain with great shows like this, can't wait for Axl to come to Europe, new Guns studio material, also looking forward to Slash's solo album and subsequent tour!
