  1. This decade is easily the worst for music, followed by the 90s. For me the only bright spot of this decade was the second half of last year with the new Metallica, GNR, and ACDC albums.

It seems as though no one is trying to make music that requires talent of any form anymore. Popular music is what these people are trying to make, since that is what the mainstream wants. The mainstream is settling for popular music instead of music that is good, that is why this decade has been horrible. Guitar solos are pretty uncommon now, lyrics are made to be easily comprehendable (even if that means they dont make sense), songs dont seem to exceed 4 minutes very long, and they all sound very similar.

I really wonder what people are going to be listening to in 10 years, I assume everyone is going to get really tired of this rap/hip hop phase.

  2. Ive only been to two big time concerts, and they were both within the last two weeks. That is what you get when you live in the middle of nowhere.

5/12/09 - Korn and Slipknot. I am not a very big fan of either of these bands but I gave it a shot just because I heard it would be fun and my friend really likes those bands. The place was packed with thousands of people down on the main floor and we got about 5 feet from the barriers and it was all great until Korn was supposed to come on the crowd got brutal. Had I not gotten out when I did I wouldve been dead before Slipknot came on. Slipknot put on a great show for the crowd, the singer seemed to be very interactive with crowd which I think you need to have. Most of all this concert hardened me for the next concert.

5/25/09 - The Offspring. The first two bands were just awful. Street Dogs (who?) and Alkaline Trio were just plain boring. The main floor tickets sold out for this concert so it got packed, really packed. For some reason a group of maybe 5 kids that all had to be 14 at the oldest were front and center. During one of the moshes I pushed my way in through there and made myself at home, the kids were pissed and clearly had never been to a concert before and I told them to deal with it. When the band came out they got the entire place jumpin and screamin, it was amazing until Dexter started playing the piano and completely killed the mood. That mood never made a full recovery but it was still a great time. People kept crowd surfing into the back of my head though, and I feel like I fractured one of my ribs from being pushed against the barrier for an hour. Amazing concert.

  3. On May 12th I saw Korn and Slipknot in Sioux Falls, SD. I about died at the front of that crowd.

Yesterday I saw The Offspring and some other no name bands in Sioux City, IA and they just brought the house down. It was the best concert Ive ever been to. I had no idea that it would be so great to see them live.

  4. This decade sucks and I dont see it getting any better. Terrible music, movies just arent as good, 8 years of George Bush, and this economic disaster is apparently the finisher. There is so much more to rant about, but I got my opinion out.
