  1. Whether the (nugnr) band members have left because there is a reunion in the offing, or whether their defection is merely

coincidental with Axl and Slash's rapprochement, it has certainly built up a 'do or die' scenario, the least desirable outcome of which would be Axl simply recruiting a couple of Johnny Randoms

and doing the South America-Vegas itinerary again. I just could not imagine him going back to that, but then, I could never have imagined him selling Budweiser or cash-grabbing in Vegas at one point either!

    I

    We''ll see...

I just don't get the hate for the Budweiser commercial. I thought it was brilliant. And I HATE Budweiser beer. And the residencies were a blast! Vegas and GNR is a great combo. The only problem for me is the cigarette smoke. It made me very ill and I have been given strict medical advice to not attend another residency in Vegas which is a total bummer for me

I can only speak for myself but I found it embarrassing. A cheap nasty and shamefaced bit of cash-grabbing. Same as Johnny Rotten doing a butter commercial, or Iggy Pop flogging car insurance. Vegas is where you go when you are washed-up.

You are entitled to your opinion. I just really liked the performances of the rappers and Axl looked so cute making the toast. But I am one of those people who watches the Super Bowl for the commercials. And I think the perception of Las Vegas being for washed up acts is not true like it was in the past. They have some great Broadway shows. And some of those Cirque Du Soleil shows like Beatles LOVE are amazing.

.. I hope to god tb is getting axl ready, this is the time to pull out the rasp, look, ect...

That's my big thing. No matter what happens next, I just hope Axl is ready for it. He needs to go out on top.

    agreed

If he come out in 2011-2014 shape and voice, then the reunion will be a laughfest

    Which will probably happen

Why would it be a laugh fast? I thought Axl looked and sounded great. It still blows me away the way he runs around the stage.

  3. If nothing happens this is going to be a let down of Phantom Menace proportions. There are going to be a lot of unhappy people. Generally I've come to expect colossal letdown from gnr so I am certainly equipped for this.

If nothing happens, I think we have finally come to the end of Guns N Roses, and I can't imagine what anyone would continue to care about in terms of being a fan. This is really sink or swim at this point.

Honestly that just supports my conspiracy theory. That somebody in power took Slashs comments as a way to plant rumors that would cause reunion hysteria
  4. Slash must be laughing his ass off right now. All he had to do was say "I talked to Axl" in one interview, and less than a month later, anything GNR does for the next decade will be a disappointment short of there actually being a reunion. And if the reunion is actually announced this year, I will eat my fucking hat. It's not happening guys. There is no reason to think that it's happening. This is just sad.

I really don't think Slash is laughing his ass off if he and Axl have truly made peace. I really don't think he knew that one simple comment would make the world go crazy.

  5. So.... everyone still thinks this is happening? Have I missed something official apart from the fact that Slash said he's no longer arch enemies with Axl which led to some rumours about a "reunion" tour?

Sorry, couldn't be bothered reading through all the pages - thanks!

Reports say that people "close" to the involved have confirmed that they are reuniting and also that they will tour next year. And oh yeah, Nikki Sixx says so, too.

The conspiracy theorist in me still wonders if some of these so called insiders were just planted rumours to stir up reunion specualtions that spread like a ultra virulent airborne virus in this age of the internet and social media. I remember in Wall Street that Michael Douglass character really did a lot of behind the scenes manipulation to get his insider trader schemes going. there are a lot of people in the industry who would stand to make a lot of money off a GNR reunion.. and I'm not talking about the artists and the musicians.

  6. Well Axl and Slash have told about their differences and what happened, them more talking about it won't actually make sense. For a person their side of the story is always right, just see the facts what both of them have done in the past 15 years.

That's my thing; If we're to believe that it's over and done with, then just let the past be the past.

I agree from what I know of Axl, he is a very private person.

  7. Grace Potter?

I could Carrie covering "Love Hurts" with Axl and maybe doing PC as an encore.

A collaboration with Carrie could be really cool if that was something that Axl wanted to pursue. I loved Bad Blood with Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar. Personally I would like to see Axl collaborate with a RAP artist. I know a lot of people disagree with me here, but I really did like that rap version of Paradise City in the Budweiser beer commercial. Love the Terry Fator version of SCOM.

  8. Chinese Democracy came out to the world...no masterpiece..no nuthin....you just waiting to be disappointed again.

GNR = AXL SLASH DUFF IZZY.

I totally disagree. I was happy as a lark to hear CD songs live in concert. And I truly believe with proper promotion some of those songs could have been huge hits. When Velvet Revolver first launched they put a song in The Incredible Hulk movie which was aimed at the youth market. It would have been better to put a song in a superhero type movie than a political thriller like Body of Lies.

Promotion....yeah well we are talking about Axl here, yeah some songs could have been bigger, I do recommend some songs to people who like GNR and all, I just see some of the songs and good songs and not GNR songs, its better to take a positive route and not always negative. Not trying to be a creep, but you do look beautiful if thats you, its hard to believe that beautiful girl would be a weirdo, No offense lol.

Now back on the topic, IF this reunion happens, then well I would like to see the original line up and yeah they can throw some CD songs here and there.

That is really nice of you. I am not as weird as people think. Just an over the top Axl Rose fan.Who worships the ground Seth MacFarlane walks on.

Whatever incarnation of GNR we see in the future whether it's in 2016 or 2017 I hope to hear CD classics and CD 2

  10. Gilby says Well, you know what? I hope it happens. I honestly have no information, but I hope it happens. I think it's great for music, it's great for rock music. It was a great band. Everybody's alive, healthy. It should happen."

I thought not to make another thread about this, so im posting it here.

    http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/gilby-clarke-on-guns-n-roses-reunion-it-should-happen/

OK, so obviously Gilby hasn't been invited to the reunion, which is disappointing but not surprising. I'll say though, its nice to finally hear someone talking. Gives me hope that cause Steven, Sorum, and Izzy aren't that maybe they're involved in some way. I trust Gilby saying he hasn't heard anything, and his speaking at all is just nice.

EMO, if thats you in the pic you're pretty hot.

It is me, and that is very kind of you to say. It was a little intimidating to stand next to someone as devastatingly handsome as Misha.

I'm not saying that it has been a waste of time, but that Axl is perceived as having fired Gilby, Matt snd forced everyone out to go his own way with GNR. Then after CD isn't as successful as hoped he gets all the old guys back to save his career.

Are you saying that's not how it will be perceived?

I'm just assuming that it will be something like that, and how will Axl deal or feel about that?

Whereas with the hybrid thing its more like still progressing with some of the old guys returning to right some wrongs.

I thibk Axl will always be viewed as some sort of Anti-hero no matter what he does. I would hope that he could remain true to himself and not let the haters get him down too much.

That's how I feel about DJ as well. Hopefully he stays true to himself and doesn't let the haters get him down. Do you feel the same way about artists/entertainers that you've bad mouthed on here? Or do you think we should be able to bad mouth any celeb that isn't Axl?

As for Axl being the anti-hero. Isn't that just rhetoric by the fans that defend everything that Axl does?

First - every artist will have detractors. No artist in the history of the world has had 100% fan and media approval.

Second - tomorrow Axl gives an update on the status of GnR. Then does a full length interview with Rolling Stone where he honestly talks about his entire career.

Just in time for Christmas, GnR releases an 8 song EP featuring the remaining/leftover CD songs.

Also on the GnR webpage they make the ten best old concerts available for download for a couple bucks apiece. Pick the 10 best shows GnR has ever done spamming their entire existence and make them available for fans.

Then in the summer of 2016 GnR releases a brand new album written by Axl, Izzy, Slash and Duff.

To support that album the band tours the world for the next two years. Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy and Sorum/Adler are the band. Gilby is also involved to give Izzy time off. And Sorum and Adler split the drumming duties.

Make pro shoot footsge of those concerts available for the fans. Some bands already do this.

For Christmas of 2017 GnR releases a box set.

Studio versions of old material like crash diet, just another Sunday, etc

    Concert DVD from reunion tour

DVD featuring lost Illusions behind the scenes footage

Greatest hits CD with the songs remastered. Plus three new songs.

    Axl's autobiography

If that was Axl's next two years do you really think GnR fans would be bashing him??????

Axl could easily be more loved and respected in the music industry.

I don't think it is fair to label people as haters when Axl has chosen to out himself in a position to draw scorn and negativity. Don't blame the fans for his actions - or lack of actions.

That was a well thought out plan. do you work in the industry? There is a difference between disapproving of someone's actions and not being a fan of theirs and being an all out hater. Great artists are going to illicit strong emotions both positive and negative with their work. Axl does things his way. that is part of his charm. I am an extremely loyal person to family and friends and I defend my homies. Even though I don't personally know Axl, his music means a great deal to me. Some celebrities just affect us that way. When Princess Diana died, I felt like I had lost a family member. Maybe that's crazy, but she was just such a positive force in this world.

We only need Axl N´Slash on THAT same stage...

In their prime? Playing songs they had recently created? Hell yes.

Today? 25-30 years later, playing songs that they've played on stage 500 times? I suppose that's exciting to some.

I would honestly rather hear new music more than anything else.

    You and me both, brother.

Axl is the greatest rock singer of my generation. I want to see what the man has created, what his current vision is, how he has matured and grown as a writer/musician. I want to hear what this man has to say in 2016 and 2017 --- not just go back and listen to him rehash what he created in 1986.

I think he has some masterpieces that just need to come out into the world when he wants them to.

Taking it a bit literally, the whole reunion show would be a bitter pill to swallow? It's saying everything in the last 20 years was a waste of time. Now do a reunion with Matt and Gilby. I doubt Axl will even give an interview, he'll show up for shows take the money and leave. At least with Fortus and Frank there's something to lessen the humiliation or whatever. maybe the possibility of a record.

Maybe this doesn't play into it?

How exactly is it saying that the last 20 years has been a waste of time?

Don't know if posted scott weiland talks about guns n' roses reunion in a new interview.

Scott should be more concerned about his own career, btw is that you in your profile pic?

Yes it is. Misha Collins did a special photo shoot dressed as Castiel for his favorite charity. I wanted to prove that I am real and I really like the way the picture turned out.

  14. Without some nu GNR members the reunion is too close to being VR with Axl singing.

So what? That would be fucking amazing. Velvet Revolver was more GNR alone that all the incarnations of nuGNR together

Hell, even when Slash came here to Argentina in march with Duff and Gilby, even that was more GNR than nuGNR.

So, i hope it is Velvet Revolver + Axl than a fucking hybrid lineup

I think I just threw up a little.

Not sure how relevant this might be but Hollywood Vampires have just announced that they're playing Rock In Lisboa.

Duff and Sorum were in the Hollywood Vampires line-up back in September but no mention of them this time around. Just Perry, Cooper and Depp.

Don't know much about the Hollywood vampires. Who are they?

Alice Cooper was in a drinking club in the 70s that called themselves "Hollywood Vampires" and had people like Keith Moon, John Lennon, Ringo Starr as core members. Johnny Depp, Joe Perry and Alice Cooper decided to form a band a few years ago playing covers of the members of the drinking club who had died and just anyone in general who had died from excess. So you get covers by The Who, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon/The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Doors, T.Rex etc. And they put out an album as well this year.

They've done about 4 of 5 shows I think, and Sorum and Duff were both part of the line-up. Possible that they could still be involved now, but would have thought they'd have been mentioned in the press release. But they've only mentioned Perry, Depp and Cooper.

    thankyou that was very interesting.

How many of you are nervous about a Europe show with all this ISIS stuff? I would rather go to South America now.

Having seen Sixx Am in a venue very similar to the one the EODM played in paris made the attacks even more real to me. Just live your life. Don't let terrorists dictate your actions. I'm still going to NYC to see LAZARUS despite the propaganda video about bombing Times Square.

  16. that means that ONLY lawyers and axl/slash/duff truly are the only ones that know and any intern drawing up menial work in the lawyers offices whos leaking tips to the press

That is a possible explanation. But I would just think that lawyers of that caliber could keep a tighter reign on their employees. How could they truly achieve trust with high powered clients if their underlings can't be trusted. I would think that lawyers would screen employees very diligently. People don't pay lawyers large sums of money to be betrayed.
