  1. He sounds great live no matter what, so if you're going to a live show, why worry? He sounded amazing live at all the shows I've been to. Even the ones where he didn't sound as good on the streams.

So you are saying that the streams doesnt catch the rasp? LOL

I'm saying he sounds worse when he is singing into a direct mic feed that is not mixed correctly. I'm saying that he sounds better when his voice is heard how it is intended to at a live show, when it is projected to the live crowd. I'm saying when you are there live you don't care about "rasp" or anything like that.

what you mean is he sounds better when his voice is hidden by the guitars, the streams have his voice volume higher so you can hear how he realy sounds, watching live in the hall the volume will be turned down to fit in with the guitars and it wont stand out as much so should sound better

  2. Deff I had a taxi home Christ knows what time I got in at, this year am taking my car saves all the hassle

A lot off people where leaving early for the trains or buses ,

Hopefully he will come on earlier this year but a doubt it lol

aye and remember him telling them to fuck off and catch your bus, nice thing to say to people that have paid for his time

  3. It was like £35 in '06 sad.gif I hate being skint.

Probably even cheaper than that tbh, I went abroad and went to the France show and think it was like €30

In 2006 it was £37.50+booking fee, about £43 in total.

They have a much bigger production this time, I think its a fair price.

no realy a fair price, axl is not the big star he once was, back in 92 and 93 think i paid about £17 a ticket when he was at the top of his game, my pay has not increased 3x times since then so why has the ticket went up by that much? £100 for me and the mrs is going to put a dent in this weeks giro :rofl-lol: no ice cream van for the weans this weekend :rofl-lol:

Nowadays GN'R lies in the midsection when it comes to ticketprices. It's not the cheapest tickets, but certainly not the most expensive ones either.

iv no been to a show since gnr at glasgow in 2006 so im a bit out of touch on the price, but being a scotsman anything over a couple of pounds gets me moaning :rofl-lol:

  5. have to laugh when people blame the mix for axl sounding like shit, what you mean is that you are hearing his real voice above the music and that is how he realy sounds, when they mix it his voice is turned down and not asloud so it doesnt sound as bad

  6. android on my galaxy s2 lets me zoom in and out so i can view the whole page without having to scroll from side to side, id imagine the iphone would allow you to do the same?

  7. He's in fact the one singer that I would say dosent use synch...

Think of, The countless times axl has stopped shows (anyone notice any lip synching?? Em No) or The varied voices from Mickey and then to an unbelievable roar (cos its live!!!!). As another poster said, look at Rio which Says it all.

He's too unpredictable to even consider it. Plus, why bother.

    Worst thread ever award.

i agree, but next thing you know they will claim the guys that thow stuff on stage are plants to make it look like he sings live :rofl-lol: think some of these people need to get their hole and stop worrying about this shite :rofl-lol:

    Rant

im 36, seen the band at gateshes in 92, then both nights at milton keynes in 93 with izzy, i then seen them in glasgow in 2006, for me the old line up was better, probably because it was slash standing right infront of us spitting big snottery groggers at the security :D axl sounded good at all the shows, but its only my opinion and i dont think axl sounds good at all these days, the stuff where he needs a growel in his voice doesnt sound good, its to high pitched and sounds forced, half these youtube videos are poor quality and mask how bad he sounds.

im to old and cant be fucked to argue with some 12 year old kid on here that loves his voice so dont even bother, if you like how he sounds these days then good for you

  8. Personally i dont see the point in having a signature Wah pedal.

I play through a standard Jim Dunlop Crybaby and sounds fine.

People say that if you truley want someone's tone then you need their rig. for example the Slash Crybaby. Not true in my eyes, Slash didn't have that pedal during his GnR days, which, lets face it. Are what Slash is known for. So to spend £109 on a Crybaby to sound like slash is pointless. Expanding on this point though a little, it's the same with signature guitars/basses. I'd love to have the Duff McKagan Fender Jazz special. But as someone pointed out. Yeah for a while it's like "yeah i got a bass like duff" then the novelty wears off and you realise, your still just playing a bass. Having their sound and gear doesn't make you any better. End of the day it's you and an instrument.

the slash wah is ment to have a better bypass than a normal crybaby also its ment to sound better with high gain

  9. My UYI I disc fails to play properly these days (2 tracks skip lots). Does anyone know where I can pick that up for such a low price ?

You get what you pay for in quality terms dude,

CD is the album that time should forget

I actually think the opposite, buddy... as soon as there are no more bitter fools such as yourself that, more than 15 years later, cry themselves to sleep every night thinking about the original formation, Chinese Democracy will finally be heard as what it is, not what it could be or should be. People will then start to give the much needed value to the music and not the band members or whatsoever.

i dont agree, im not bitter and i realy dont care who is in the band aslong as axl sings, but i think C/D is shite, it has a few good songs but over all its just a mess (in my opinion) id love to know what age the people are that love the album and what age the people are the dont like it? my guess would be its mostly younger people that like it

this is my opinion and i can understand why some may love the album, its just not for me (and others)

  10. a. Axl Rose is not fat

    b. He's pushing 50 so the spandex thing doesn't work. Save for the awful biker mustache and eyeliner, the look he has now works for him.

    a. Yes he is:

    b. I agree with the biker shorts and moustache not working. Eyeliner is fine though, but his look is not working for him.

Compared to 2006 he looks awful. well the hair is probably better, but in 2006 he was in much better shape both physically and vocally.

    LP

How does that clip show he's fat? The man is not fat at all??? Seriously how can anyone think he is, if you had never seen him before in your life and just met him there is no way in anyones mind he would be called fat, unless idk you are from a 3rd world country maybe where there is no food to eat, then I guess maybe I would be fat to you too, I mean I'm pushing 125 at 5 foot 7.5. Sorry but I just don't understand how people can call the man fat, he looks damn good for a 50 year old, hell regardless of his age he looks damn good. And there are pictures of him backstage at that concert at I think Rose Bar and he was changing his shirt, and he looked good.

youy are 125lbs at 5ft 7? christ you must be built like a little girl to pull thats weight off at that height :rofl-lol: im about the same heigh and the lightest i could get down to was 11stone and even then i looked ill and under weight

  11. ffs sometimes i wonder if im the only person over 12 years old on here :rofl-lol: the best thing they can do is turn up on time, play the set that people have paid to see and then go home, forget this shite of what can they do to show they have big baws pish, fans have paid to see them, thats the only thing they should care about

  12. I've always been intrigued by Guitar Pro, and I see a lot of TAB on ultimate-guitar.com which uses this programme. It seems quite pricey, so before I shell out any dosh I was wondering if any of you could tell me whether it is actually worth the money?

yes its probably worth the money if you want to pay for it, most people get it for free though ;)
