Speaking of Vikings raping Saints. Is anybody else watching New Orleans vs Minnesota right now? :(

Yeah I m a Packer fan so it is hard for me to root for them but if they beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl I would happy man.

  2. I am on a Stones jag right now so just finishing rereading "Altamont" by Joel Selvin and listening to Stanley Booth's "True Adventures of the Rolling Stones" audio book on my work commute every day.......both excellent books about the Stones epic  1969 U.S Tour......

  3. Watched the HBO documentary  "David Bowie  The Last 5 Years"  last night  and it was fantastic...it was  a 10 out of 5 it was that good.......I  realized watching the doc that I had seen on his last tour ever in 2004 at the Boston Fleet Center......... I saw him for the first time in 1974 and at least  half a dozen times after that and man I really miss the man's brilliance...........

  4. I was never a Motorhead fan but did like Lemmy in Hawkwind and enjoyed reading interviews with him as he was a colorful character

...but I don't believe Fast Eddie was  an actual  founding member as Lemmy founded MH  in 1975 with guitarist Larry Wallis and drummer Lucas Fox I  believe......

    Deep Purple.

But if I had to choose between the two, Sabbath. I loath Zeppelin with something bordering on a passion.

I don't agree with you concerning Led Zep but you get a like for mentioning a very under rated Deep Purple..........."Made in Japan" has to be one of the top 5 all time great live albums IMHO......and that is without any overdubs or studio sweetening............

Yes but he saw better concerts then everyone else here.

Yeah there is some advantage to being an old bastard I guess................I saw some great shows back in the day........unfortunately I was too altered state to remember much about a lot those concerts  from those days...........but I do remember having a great time......I think......

It is all a matter of perspective I guess....maybe some of the  younger posters here  envy the shows I saw but I also envy those older than me who got to go to the Fillmore East/ West and see bands like Hendrix, The Doors, Joplin, Cream, Duane Allman the great festivals of the late 60's early 70's and, my ultimate concert fantasy, the Stones 1969 U.S. tour.......hard to believe but I was too young to see those bands/ concerts..........:shrugs:

    Another brave x politician,

Jim Traficant, former US Congressman and former Sheriff in Youngstown, Ohio, was leading Project Freedom USA to end the IRS, Divorce the FED, restore HONEST MONEY to the US and our Nation’s destiny to the American people. Here speaking out about the Zionist lobby.

Boy you know how to pick them mate

He was expelled from the House after being convicted of taking bribes, filing false tax returns, racketeering and forcing his aides to perform chores at his farm in Ohio and houseboat in Washington, D.C. He was sentenced to prison and released on September 2, 2009, after serving a seven-year sentence.

6 corporations control our entire media, this has been happening at an extremely fast rate. This is a blatant example of the consolidation of power, and at this point is a complete illusion of choice.

In the 80s we had over 50 corporations that had a stake in the MSM, now we have only 6, they are

    Viacom

    Time Warner

    CBS

    Disney

    Newscorp

    Comcast

This is important to know because the internet is the LAST place for freelance journalism. The CEOs want to control the internet just like they control the cable, if that happens then searching for any shred of truth online will be extremely hard to do. As of now, countless people and groups are censored and targeted when they expose things. I can't tell you how many times I've seen videos pulled down.

Now I see where you get your theories...this guy is real tin hat conspiracy stuff...........call me crazy but this guy makes Alex Jones seem credible..........

  9. Love both bands but If I had to choose it would be Zeppelin for me...I do like both the Ozzy and Dio eras of Sabbath and some of the other incarnations are not bad as Tony Iommi is a riff machine.

Got to see Ozzy Sabbath twice once in 1975 at Asbury Park and in 1978 in New Haven, CT. and both were excellent shows...saw them with Dio once which was also a great show.

I had tickets to see Led Zep in 1975 at MSG, NYC but it snowed like crazy that day and I lived a hour from NYC and could not get into the city...still one of my all time concert regrets missing Zep live. I did see Page/Plant in the old Boston Garden with the Orchestera but as good as it was it was not the same..........

  10. Continuing my Stones bootlegs jag I just got these two today.......the vinyl on both are very clean with almost no marks and just a little dirty so hope they clean up nicely...

This is a partial SB from on e of the Stones shows at MSG, NYC in 1972. Legend has it it is a rough mix for an aborted live album that someone bought from a Stones associate back stage at a show. I have this on CD and it sound like an official release.

This is another SB recording  from their 1978  Capitol Theater Passiac NJ gig that legend has it the cassette was stolen from the SB at the end of the concert when the Soundman was not looking. It is almost complete except the last song SFM is an audience recording.

Does anyone here use discos to catalog their collection?

It'd be cool to post links to your collection if you have them public so we can all see what everyone really collects and what not...

Here's mine for anyone who cares...

    https://www.discogs.com/user/Rickylovas/collection

Nice collection!...I admire you taking the time to catalog them...My collection is about half the size but I can't see ever taking the time to catalog them

  11. Blade Runner 2049......I loved the original but this one, while visually stunning, dragged for me...I give it  a 3/5 only because of the tie in with the original.

Watched "Marshall" last night..about  former SCOTUS  associate justice Thurgood Marshall when he worked for the NAACP and focuses on a particular trial where a black chauffeur is accused of raping his employers wife .....the acting is a little stiff  and the  production is B grade but it is a great story so I give it a 3/5 if you have interest in that part of our history.

  12. I have been on a bootleg vinyl buying jag lately and got this delivered from an  ebay seller  this past Friday. Looks to be an orginal early 70's pressing and I still need to clean it before playing but visually the vinyl  looks mint with no obvious scratches or marks. The nice thing I am learning about old bootleg vinyl is many of them may not have been played much so you can get them in really nice condition if you are patient. This is an audience recording from the Stones  November 10, 1969  San Diego show recorded by the same bootleggers who recorded he infamous Oakland "Liver than You'll Ever Be" vinyl bootleg. I have this on CD and it is an excellent sounding audience recording so looking forward to giving this a spin..............

  13. I  have been getting into Stones bootleg vinyl lately and picked this beauty up in clear red wax. It is actually the first  1969 Oakland  early show but was recorded by the same people who recorded the infamous   "Liver than You'll Ever Be"  bootleg which was the late show and  that supposedly forced the Stones to release the " Get Yer Ya Ya's Out " album...JMO but I think this show sounds a little better than its famous brother which I have an original pressing of...

possibly because the P.A. blew out so the  concert volume was much lower than normal giving a better balanced recording... you can actually hear the P.A. go out about 4:25 into the opening number JJF where the sound completely drops out for several seconds.....it actually sounds better after the P.A. craps out......from what I read the P.A. issues are what made the tapers decide to release the second show and not this one originally.......It is a recent release and can be found on ebay for reasonable prices and,  as you are not expecting Ya Ya's quality sound,  it is highly recommended for any Stones fan.
