  1. I'd love to hear this live again. It''s easily one of GNR's best songs. I'd probably go nuts if I heard that damn riff in concert. Fuck the haters, this song is absolutely awesome.

    What do you guys think?

    Hey Axl knows,

I though you didn;t like anything Slash and the AFD line up wrote after AFD?

    Another "Axl Should" thread?

Man, people like you make me sick. You expect entertainers to be exactly what you think they should be instead of individuals. Get off your high horse.

  3. They did not begin Chinese democracy in 1993. That's my biggest pet peeve when reading reviews of that album. Gnr was

on tour for half of 93 and released an album in late 93. Not to mention all the band members quiting in the mid 90's. I'd say 98 or 99 is a more realistic year they began working on it. The media just sees their last released album was 93 so they assume that's when they started the new one.

You're splitting hairs. Axl began working on "This I Love" in 1993 (or earlier).

  4. I seriously doubt Slash would have been famous outside of maybe a somewhat famous 80's hair metal band without Axl there to organize it all.

Wow. Some of you people are crazy.

We've seen what Guns is like with Axl in full control. An anti-publicity machine. Do you really think anyone would have ever heard of Guns N' Roses if Axl had been the dicatator that he is now back in the '80s?

  5. What he said. Plus Axl would have never let the band become "boring", or "irrelevant". They would have been a combination of U2's constant innovation with the Stones edge. They would have a beautifully produced website, have been more fan friendly, and put out music more consistently because they would have an excellent management team in place. No one hear can say for a minute they wouldn't trade the path that a band like Metallica took for the one that Guns n Roses took. That being said, I love the new band, I love chinese democracy, and I will support whatever Axl does. But don't think I wouldn't trade all of it for Guns having stayed together and became the Rolling Stones of Gen X.

U2 were constantly innovative? :rofl-lol: Don't make me laugh. U2 were one of those bands like Queen who were garbage after their first four/five albums and continued to mail it in for the extra dough.

I'd rather Axl maintain some dignity than become another Bono or Mercury, who put shit on record knowing that the brainwashed public will lap it up.

Whooaaa there buddy. Don't go dissing Queen. They were and always will be amazing.

The only bands he likes are Guns N' Roses, Sebastian Bach and Bumblefoot.

  6. Besides the setlist (A mix of the hits people want to hear the songs from the album he is promoting) there is nothing boring about the new band playing live. period.

    are u that dissillusioned?

To be fair, the TS was saying that the old band would have become boring. The question is: More boring than the current band?

  7. People ask us all the time about a next album and we all speak the same truth, that we would *like* to work on another album, and hopefully will. I think some quotes in that Bergen Norway article got lost in translation, from what the band said to what was printed, to how it was translated again to other languages. Right now the focus is touring, bringing the live show to the world. After that, we'll see what's best to do next...

  8. Slash has actually been putting out alot more music since 1991 than Axl has, and none of it has been even close to the level of Chinese D. In other words, we have more than enough Slash material to judge that he is a poor songwriter

Back to Slash, eh? No one ever claimed Slash was a great songwriter - he's just a great lead guitarist. Only one piece of the puzzle. It was the combination of Izzy, Axl, Slash and Duff that made timeless music. It's just Axl fluffers like you that think a band is made up of one man.

    Axl's just getting started.

    Oh please facepalm.gif

  9. Funny thing is, what makes that song timeless is Axl's vocal delivery and the vocal melodies, which Axl wrote. The riffs are only decent.

Another song raised to a much higher level by W. Axl Rose...

Funny how Axl hasn't been able to come up with anything "timeless" since 1991 ...

  10. All of you Axl fluffers are so focused on Slash (subconsciously jealous much?) that you forget that Izzy Stradlin was the main creative force in the band.

LOLOLOLOL. Izzy made some nice contributions to AFD but he hasn't written anything even half-decent since. Axl was the main creative force behind the band and it isn't close. Post AFD the ONLY good songwriter and creative member of the former GNR lineup has been Axl.

    Wrong.

According to ASCAP the only 2 songs Axl Rose ever wrote by himself are "My World" and "This I Love."
