It was Frank's birthday a few days ago.
Not sure how old he is though. I've always assumed he's the youngest in the band.
He is. I want to say he's in his late 20s now. I think he was 24 or 25 when he started with SMK&C.
I love that wished him a happy bday by posting a sleepy Sidoris pic. Lol!

In the meantime, Myles appeard on the new DMC's song against violence
Am I listening to the new "Better" intro?
Myles is easily the highlight for me. certainly sounds like him rapping a bit in the second verse, too! I giggled a little hearing that! the song as a whole, while it has a good message, doesn't impress me. Myles makes it.

^^ Nope. Myles is still recording vocals for the next Alter Bridge album. Unless Slash is back in LA getting ready to prepare to do whatever he needs to do to get ready to record for the next solo album in a few weeks or so.
Slash could be recording without Myles. Problem is, Brent and Todd haven't yet. Todd seems to be busy with AiE and TKO stuff at the moment, so that makes it seem more unlikely than Myles being in the middle of recording AB vocals. According to Mark on Eddie Trunk's radio show Monday, there may only be another week or so of AB recording. My guess would be that they'll record like they did WOF and Myles will be among the last to record (TK's backing vocals I'm thinking would actually be last after Myles ' leads). They could certainly start while Myles is busy.

If you're referring to the next SMK&C album as Slash's new music, it won't be out in the fall. Alter Bridge will be. Myles will be with AB this year.Slash is really in a great position right now. If the "reunion" is a disaster, Axl stands to lose a whole lot more than Slash or any of the other members. We all know that Slash can still kick ass live and his playing will definitely not be a risk or a weak link for the reunion show(s). But if Axl is out of shape, out of breath, can't sing for shit, shows up 2 hours late, or has a mental meltdown and goes into one of his childish rants...that could make this whole reunion more of an embarrassment than anything else. If so, Slash just returns to what he was doing with MK&TC...nothing really lost.
Slash has always been in the best position. Unless he causes the downfall of this reunion, which there is .00001% of happening, he comes away unscathed. The press says Axl just couldn't keep it together, sounded horrible, started up with his same old crap, and they say about Slash he tried to go back but it wasn't his fault, he played amazing, Slash has more music coming out in the fall! He stands absolutely nothing to lose and never has, and he's so well liked that there's nothing he can do to be badmouthed if this all falls apart. For all intents and purposes, he's along for the ride just to see if this works.

It's time for Myles to give Alter Bridge his attention. So SMK&C 3 can't come out too soon. AB 5 will be in the works very soon. SMK&C 3 won't start recording before April (late March the earliest). Hasn't slash said SMK&C won't tour in 2016? I doubt he'd put the album out if the tour wasn't imminent.

SMK&C at HOB Vegas on NYE just announced! Ugh! Damn cross country thing!
Not to mention being scheduled to work NYE and NYD....

Slash said in a Polish radio recently that they will go to the studio this spring and album will be released in late summer / early autumn 2016.
Hello everyone.
doesn't seem possible and better not happen..... Alter Bridge is recording first and will likely be releasing around September. there is no way SMK&C should be releasing so close to AB's album. especially if they're not touring at all in 2016 as Slash2Baz is saying Slash himself said. releasing 4-6 months minimum before touring just makes no sense what so ever.
-
Alter Bridge!
-
Well, Slash will definitely be touring with Conspirators in 2016 / 2017 with some breaks in between to let Myles touring w/ AB a little bit.Im psyched for another Conspirators record, but do they really need another huge world tour in 2016/2017? They have already gone everywhere several times. I wouldn't mind a break from touring in 2016 so Alter Bridge can have the spot light.
Honestly, Slash is very excited about the new album !
with some breaks in between to let Myles touring w/ AB a little bit.
Seriously?! Myles had better get more than "a little bit" of time to tour with AB once the album comes out.... If not that's going to piss off a lot of AB fans who have been waiting the (what's become) standard 3yrs for the next AB album/tour.
-
I just saw an article headline saying he expects to record in Spring, which basically goes along with what I thought. They're probably going to tour over the summer once AB's and their albums are recorded, but no chance it'll be out before, or even while, they're on tour. Honestly, don't like the idea of the album coming out so close to AB's album, which it will if it is out in 2016. That would make 2 albums with Myles' lead vocals out with a few months span. I'm personally happy to get as much of Myles work as possible. The more the better for me! Just being so close together doesn't sound great in the larger picture.
The new Conspirators album will definitely be out in 2016. The band should tour next summer !
negative. that's just writing. they still need to go into the studio and unless they go straight into the studio right after they come back from tour (the end of November, I think), the first part of 2016 is out. Myles will be in the studio with Alter Bridge recording their 5th album in the first part of 2016. Mark Tremonti is saying that the next album from his band, Tremonti, will be out in March, so it sounds like he's saying that AB's recording will be done around or by then. seems like March would be the earliest that SMK&C could go in to record. also, I can't see the SMK&C album coming out before or anywhere near AB's album. AB is talking about a fall tour next year, so I'm thinking their album will be out around Sept/Oct (which is about normal for them). I would then think that SMK&C would be early 2017 at the earliest. If its 90% complete, then I assume it should be out by March next year.

Good switch, IMO. Have loved 30 Years to Life since the pre-Aerosmith New Hampshire show last year.
As far as i know there's no Meet & Greet for this leg.Anybody know if meet n greets are being done for these shows? Going to gr show in michigan.
Yesterday in Cleveland, they switched "Serial Killer" by "30 years to life"

I pointed the obvious - the Myles & Conspirators project is still Slash's solo project and it's his money on the table, he's the boss
Except that it's really not. All band members are involved in the creation of the songs in some way. He's even said the plan is to just go by The Conspirators at some point. Actually, it sounds to me that it's much like nugnr. He's the boss of a band. Does anyone question that nugnr is a band when it's really Axl and his employees? Doubt it.

There's definitely a kinship there and a chemistry. I have to think Myles gets something from Slash, Todd and Brent, that AB can't provide.
True, I get that part, but you can say that when the roles are reversed. The thing is what he may get from Slash/Conspirators, that AB cannot provide, is something that kinda restricts Myles, in my eyes. I've seen from areas like the Download Festival Forum say things like Myles seems to have more fun with Slash/Conspirators than AB and he's more of a frontman because he's not playing guitar and standing still (something that people still give Myles flak for with Slash/Conspirators) and I get this negative shaky feeling in me when I read stuff like that.
People are looking for entertainers (something that guys like Axl possess and be damn appealing) that can give them a spectacle, nothing wrong with that. I just don't think Myles is that kind of guy, and I don't want him to be that kind of guy, but that's fine, because that's mainly the reason why he appeals to me. He's got a very real and honest, no prefab BS, non-pretentious aura that I love. He's the guy that I can relate to the most, along with Mark, and I feel like that sort of relatability shows more in AB than with Slash/Conspirators in my honest opinion.
That's all I got say for that post, but I had to get some of that tension out in manageable bits.
Still looking forward to what Slash/Myles/Conspirators bring though.
Pretty much nailed it

Since he's in pics from Slash's birthday, my thought would be yes.Slash2baz you know if Myles is there with them ?
-
They put in their 2 cents here and there
I think Myles has co-writing credit on pretty much everything on AL and WOF (save maybe Safari Inn since it's an instrumental and he didn't play guitar on WOF. And I think Todd has a co-writing credit on one of the WOF songs, too). I haven't looked at WOF notes closely, but I know AL he and Slash are co-writers on all. I'd say they have a pretty good amount of input.
-
5 shows within a 4 hour drive, time to max the credit card
Which Shows?
Toronto Hamilton, Detroit, Northfield, Fort Wayne and technically Grand Rapids. But I'm just doing Toronto Hamilton (I live between them) and probably Detroit and Northfield
that was like my friends and I in May. 5 shows within 5hrs and we did 4 of them. New Hampshire, NYC, NJ and Baltimmore were the ones we did. Stroudsberg, PA was only a few hours away, and would've loved to have seen Like a Storm opening, but it was mid-week and had to sacrifice one since the others involved days off of work as it was.
-
Myles is from Spokane and I don't think they've played there in the 5yrs they've been touring together, so not terribly surprising.^^ That's a little surprising, actually, since Brent Fitz is from Winnipeg, but I guess it's not really a major Canadian market as Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal.

Although, to be fair, Myles played rhythm on Apocalyptic Love.
I'd disagree; I think it may be too much of Slash whereas with Guns, VR, and Snakepit he had someone else's "voice" on rythm guitar rather than him playing both.I feel like Slash's current way of writing is to come up with with a decent riff and then write a generic song for it without much thought. WoF, which I mostly enjoy, is full of songs that have 2-3 killer riffs that don't fit together or with the rest of the song. Verses with nothing going on in them (not in the soft loud soft style of song, either), just a quick interlude before getting back to the chorus riff. It kind of feels like Slash's approach to writing is "this is cool, good enough, lets record now". His post two Conspirators albums feel like a conscious effort to not put too much thought or time into any one song.
Which, of course, leads to 15-17 song albums which could be cut down to 12-13, with the time spent on those extra filler songs that could have been spent making the good songs better.
Pretty much this word for word.
-
so wait, you thinks slash sucks as a solo artist because he puts out an album w 10 songs you really like and 7 you think of as filler? if you took every album that's ever been put out in the last 10 years and tried to find 10 good songs on every album do you think you could? or 58% of an album thats good? very rarely are albums filled with great song after great song, regardless of the artist and just because you think of something as filler, it may be the greatest thing ever to the next person. This song right here is why I find Slash to be incredibly frustrating as a solo artist.
I consider this to be one of the best songs he's ever written, killer solos, breathtakingly haunting bridge section and a very poignant message in the lyrics. And yet this gem sits alongside utter tripe like Iris of The Storm, Dirty Girl, Avalon and Too Far Gone.
The man lacks quality control. No album needs 17 songs. No album with 12+ songs has ever been free of filler and a song like Beneath The Savage Sun should be the measure by which he judges his own material, instead of diluting the great tunes with masses of throwaway, meaningless filler tracks.
Imagine if he'd only put out one album with Myles and The Conspirators and used the best cuts from Apocalyptic Love and World On Fire to put together a tight, kick-ass 10 track rock album. Something along these lines:
1. Beneath The Savage Sun
2. You're A Lie
3. Wicked Stone
4. No More Heroes
5. Anastasia
6. Not For Me
7. Shots Fired
8. Battleground
9. 30 Years To Life
10. The Unholy
^^ This would be one of the best rock albums from the last 5 years.
To me, I would respect Slash so much more and be far more excited for his album releases - even if they were only once every 4 years - if he took a bit more time over his albums and only put out the cream of the crop, instead of filling up every disc to maximum capacity and boring us to tears with so much unnecessary filler.
First, I never said Slash sucks as a solo artist, I just said I found him frustrating.
And secondly, my list took the best songs from TWO albums, not one. That was my whole point. Slash could've put out one of the best rock albums of the last 5 years if he'd taken the best cuts from AL and the best from WOF and made one solid album.
Point being made was that, that's based on YOUR opinion. While you included some great songs, you left off some of my favorites, too. I'm happy with what he's released. I'd rather have heard everything and decide which ones I like rather than have had them held back.

For next album and tour, I think Slash should Add keys if he can afford to pay for another musician, then they can try some illusions stuff like breakdown and do some cool blues jams.
He wouldn't have to for the album. Brent plays keys. Touring is another story.

yeah. it looks like they did a private gig for someone's birthday as The Conspirators.
