  1. I saw Charm City Devils open for Tremonti a couple of years ago. I didn't think they were that great, but weren't horrible either. I think around that time they had a single out that was getting play on Octane that was ok. doesn't excite me, but could be worse. really excited for Wednesday!!!

  2. Ok, let's get this fired up! :devilshades:

    Who's going?

I'm sure I'll be taking in more than one show in the next year or so.

The first one being on July 13 in Kitchener!

Wasn't one of the Conspirators in Big Wreck? One of them did Remote Control but that's Age of Electric I think. Been awhile since I lived in Canada.

wasn't the bass player Slash announced before Todd back when he put the band together in 2010 from Big Wreck? he announced him, but then when they got together and rehearsed Slash didn't feel he was the right fit. then Brent suggested TK?

and Myles has a history with Big Wreck. he's guested on one of their songs and I think he's even guested on stage with them before. there's an interview I just saw very recently with Ian Thornley where he talks a bit about it (I think this show is even mentioned which I think is why MK is discussed).

  3. they did watch this at least a few times and Myles played on that. certainly anything instrumental I'd imagine Myles would play since he's not singing (like he's being doing on WTTJ since Todd sings that one). I'd say maybe the instrumental from WoF, but I think it's too soon for that. I don't see that making it into the set list until after the album is out.

Well, "Safari Inn" is supposed to get acoustic parts on it but i don't remember having heard them...

We'll see, first gig is in 3 days !

and I'll be there to find out!! :)rock4

Obviously you've never actually heard Myles try to sing a Led Zep song....butchers it worse than he butchers GnR classics. He may be good enough for Alter Bridge...but he sucks in Slash's band. And thank God he never toured/recorded as Robert Plant's replacement.

Fair enough. Here's my counter-responses. To be fair though, it's been nine years ago and they hadn't done it since, but still.

the vid foghat posted is the absolute worst possible example of Myles singing LZ. you know how big a fan of Myles I am and I never bought the itunes sessions because I thought they pretty much fell flat all around, but definitely not the best example of Myles vocal abilities. I'd throw in SMK&C covering Immigrant Song from the last show of the AL tour or Communication Breakdown from the first European run on the Slash tour in 2010 as far better examples.

  6. Saw this while at boston pizza that night. My wife makes the comment, " of course, slash gets immured from the please remove hats rule of thumb." Touché.

any performers of the anthem do when it's part of their "uniform." when I was in college marching band we didn't have to take our shakos off for the anthem when we played it. Slash is so known for that hat, I can't see anyone forcing him to take it off to play the anthem.

and on topic, far from his best performance ever, but also far from horrible.

  7. Slash seems really happy with his actual band and working with Myles, I'm sure he enjoys playing with Duff but why would he want to go back to VR? With the Conspirators he can play songs from his solo albums, snakepit, GNR and VR... anything he wants. Duff has Walking Papers and what they're doing is pretty good.

Personally I would prefer for both of them to keep doing what they're doing right now, I'd rather have a third Conspirators album and a second Walking Paper album than a VR album.

tbh, as excited as I am for the conspirators album, what I want more than anything right now is that Myles solo album I mentioned. been anxious for that since he first mentioned he was working on it in an interview over 5yrs ago. I'm so happy for him with everything he's done since then, but it's been a bit of a bummer that he hasn't had a chance to finish it yet.

  8. I dont think he likes Duff playin with GNR so he'd probably be a bit more into getting VR going again.

    this

the new singer gonna be probably Myles lol

see my post above. not going to be Myles.

aside from what I said above, if it was going to be Myles it would've been done already.

    Oh c'mon

If Slash ever wanted to suspended his own band he obvisouly wanna work with Myles (a guy that actually works for him and wors with him well)

I'm not a big fan of Myles, though

(I don't even like Scott too, not my cup of tea)

Did you read my post above? I gave the exact reason why it won't be Myles that Slash has said himself. Myles will not leave AB and with AB in the picture, Myles will not join VR as Slash wants someone who will be 24/7 VR. And I'm about the biggest Myles fan you'll find on here. I'd be shocked if he joined VR nor do I really want him to. If he did it'd mean the end of AB who is my absolute favorite band. It could also mean that his solo album that he's already been sitting on for the better part of 5 years may be pushed into further delay. My hope is that if they do find a singer for VR, Myles will get an opening while slash works on that after this album tour to finally get his album done, out and toured on. Although it sounds like it may be time to get to work on AB's fifth album by then if they hold to the 3 year window between albums.

  9. at this point a reunion with scott is most likely tbh, but that would only be if he lives long enough to eventually sober up and get himself on the right path.

Slash has said he can't/won't (can't remember his exact word) work with Scott professionally, so I don't see that as likely. he did that one night for 4 songs, but not as a long term working relationship. Slash has also said that they're looking for someone who will be 24/7 VR which Myles would not with AB consistently picking up steam. thus Myles isn't an option either.

  10. Having to stand on the balcony in the back of a Slash show because they had changed venues (slash couldn't sell enough seats to justify playing a 5k seater so he moved to a 1k) to one that served alcohol on the floor. Despite being 18 at the time, I had forgotten my ID and had to stand in the very back with a bunch of obnoxious 16 year olds despite paying more than what most of the people on the floor had.

I remember that i think, want myles sick too?

Yep. The crowd sang half the show for him.

Swear Myles does that most of the time anyway, which annoys me given that he can actually sing.

he loves engaging the crowd and hearing them sing the songs (which in AB are a very high percentage of his lyrics) back to him. he almost always looks very happy on stage, but his smile seems to get even bigger when he gets a great response from the crowd singing along. he will lean on that crowd interaction more when he's sick. obviously it helps save his voice a bit if he doesn't have to sing as much. it's just how he is. personally I love seeing him keep the crowd engaged.

  11. Could someone post a clip of Myles really going nuts on guitar? Maybe its not a video and just audio. But whatever it is, I've never heard it, but I hear everyone say it about him and I'd just like to see what's its like. I'm sure its just gonna give me another reason to love him. He's up there with Dave Grohl as one of the coolest guys in rock and roll these days IMO, despite being far less well known.

I'm not sure what there is of him in recent years. He kinda takes a back seat to Mark and Slash guitar-wise. There's a video of him I think just out of college winning a guitar competition. Posting vids is a bit of a pain on my phone (as great as iPhones are, still a pain for stuff like that).
  12. saw these guys last night at the best buy theatre in NYC and they were fucking great! 5 - 10 feet from the rail - great live band

It was a great show! I was on the rail right in front of Myles' side stage mic. Saw them 3 times this week and loved every minute of every show!

I was on the right side in front of tremonti closer to the wing -- the chicks next to me came down from canada for the show - 3x's this week is a sick amount of travel! sick fucking performance though!

yeah. it was a lot of travel. especially with Monday night being in Baltimore and Tuesday night being in Boston, but as far as I'm concerned, AB is SOOOOO worth it! been a fan of them since just a couple of months afteir their debut album came out in 2004. I've seen them enough times that they recognize me now. lol. such an amazing band and I'm more than happy to go see them whenever htey're in the area. great group of musicians and a great group of guys.
