Axl really brought it. I'm glad to see he really still has it.

Sometimes I wear my hair like Tommy's. And I have two pairs of True Religion shoes because of Axl. I like leather jackets and I'll probably wear a bandana once my hair starts to really grow out.

I don't know if this has been posted yet or not but here's a pretty awesome video of There Was A Time.

I was at this show and I have to admit that I was extremely leery on how Axl was going to sound being as the videos I've seen have sounded terrible. I've seen Gnr 5 times now and I honestly think Axl sounded better at this show than any of the other shows... and I saw 2 shows in 2010. He had lots of rasp and seemed in a great mood and was really into it. I only noticed the "mickey mouse" voice a few times.... end of Estranged and parts of rocket queen... but to be honest it doesn't even sound bad live?!
My girlfriend was with me and she said Axl sounded amazing.. she's just a casual fan (at best) but she also came to one show with me in 2010 and she said he sounded way better this time. I also heard nothing but good comments from other people at the concert.
I took lots of pics and a few videos which I might post once I put them on my computer which might take forever.
My only real complaint would be that I really think they need to shorten the set list a bit... get rid of some solos and covers... the concert is honestly too long.. especially if you're drunk! Lots of people left before the end.
Also, on Thursday night (Nov 15) I was at Cabo Wabo and saw Richard Fortus sitting 2 tables down from me (he was with the photographer chick)... I wasn't going to say anything to him but he walked right by me so I had too. I ended up getting a pic with him and he chatted to my girlfriend and I for a good 5 min... super nice guy!
Setlist too long? If that's the only complaint then I'm happy to hear it!

Anybody gonna record this? I really want to watch it but I'll be unable to see it stream live.

Word on the street is they're going to play Sgt Pepper.
No, they wrote a new song about Dr. Pepper. Get your facts straight.

I've fallen in love with Entourage. I want that show to be my life!
Really?
Which guy wouldn't?
Straight ones.
I dig your username, Johnny.
And who wouldn't like it? It seems like an awesome life.

Guns N’ Roses has teamed up with Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to invade Las Vegas with a never-before-seen, one-of-a-kind music experience. Each night, the band will perform an electrifying show featuring a set list created exclusively for The Joint.
Exact details about the show are being kept under wraps but fans can expect the raw and gritty heavy metal Guns N’ Roses is known for along with a few surprise elements. Produced exclusively by AEG Live, Appetite for Democracy is unlike any show the band has ever done before or will ever do again.
I hope this is true and not all talk. I guess we'll see.
It'd be crazy if they brought back every past member to join them on stage.

Great editing! It's awesome to have such a great talent on our humble forum! I hope we hear this song again from the GN'R camp someday. It's such a good cover.

Dr. House is also a great character. And then Julian, Ricky, and Bubbles together make one of the funniest television shows ever. All the characters on that show is great. Mr. Lahey, Randy, and JROC all deserve mentions as well. Taco and Andre from The League are pretty hilarious too. It's hard for me to choose five! The ones I've named here didn't even make it onto my list. I may need to reconsider it.

1) Goku - Dragon Ball Z
2) Shawn Spencer - Psych
3) Homer Simpson - The Simpsons
4) Barney Stinson - How I Met Your Mother
5) Burton Guster - Psych
You're so close to having the perfect list! The first two are spot on. Take out Homer and move Barney to number three. Desmond Hume at number four and Christian Troy at number five. The last two are constantly changing though.

While I like AC/DC, too many of their songs sound the same to me to get in to full-blown fandom.
I feel the same way. Plus, I'm not really a fan of Brian's vocals outside of Back in Black. I absolutely love Bon Scott's vocals though. One of the best frontmen ever to live in my opinion. He had that look in his eyes that few frontmen nowadays have.

Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds. The whole album is great during the summer!

Suspicious of people who 'LOVE' all of the following:
Dexter
NWA
Nirvana
NIN
:xmasssanta:
The only one I really like is Dexter. NIN is a decent band but nothing exceptional... NWA and Nirvana suck.
N.W.A. is awesome! Eazy was the godfather of rap, Dre is one of the best producers out there, and Cube can write some great rhymes.
As for Nirvana, I've always openly disliked them but at the moment I'm trying to see if I can get into them. They're not quite as bad as I originally thought. At least not yet.

I guess that's a way I never looked at it. Let somebody else who values it much more possess and enjoy it. But I'm not a collector or anything either. The music is all I really need.

Anybody a fan of indie pop?
Jukebox the Ghost - Safe Travels
Voxtrot - Voxtrot
Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend
Good picks.
Try Animal Collective - Feels
Silversun Pickups - Swoon
The Shins - Wincing the Night Away
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!
I'll definitely check them out! I've heard a few songs by the last two.
I actually saw both Jukebox the Ghost and Vampire Weekend live last month. The JtG concert was second only to the two Guns N' Roses concerts I've been to. Ben Thornewill's voice is gold. Even got a picture with him!

I think it's just the fact that someone who's musical opinions someone may trust (Axl... because the person likes the music Axl creates) gives a certain immediate promise to a band. That's not a bad thing at all. If Axl had not recommended them than a lot of people who are typically classic rock fans would have brushed NIN off immediately after hearing them. Because someone like Axl likes them it persuades people to give them a fair chance instead of dismissing so quick like we all do with plenty of music.
The thing that this thread isn't touching on is I think the affection for the band is genuine... all Axl did was encourage some people to listen more than once. This happens all the time. You respect your older brother? Well, if you're a classic rock fan and he recommends the talking heads you'll probably give them a more fair chance than radiohead, even if the truth of the situation is you'd like both if you gave them the chance (for example). Like I said, though, the liking of them that develops is genuine it's not hero worship of Axl or whoever.
Spot on post.

Don't forget, Normal and Abnormal are concept albums. It's one continuous story told over the album, with several changes of style in the songs of which the story is reflected. I can see why someone who just listens to Glad To Be Here itself thinks it's a badly written song, but it makes sense in the context of the album. Musically, there's nothing wrong with it. It's meant to be funny.
This.

I think De Sade was a fucking genius, i really do. Mental and a proper sick fucker...but a genius also. I mean, he kinda sussed the importance of sexuality as like...a guiding thingie in our psyches, isnt that pretty much what Freud was lauded for years later?
I think he understood more than the world around him understood. And i love people like that, the paradox of it all, the way we work in society we kind of like...there's nothing more unsettling to modern society than a nonce thats got a point, you know what i mean? You can't really let someone like him live out in the world and live free, going around imprisoning girls for 2 days and doing freaky sexual shit to them and fuckin', y'know, every housemaid he ever had done a bunk, claiming sexual mistreatment, you can't let a fucker like that walk the streets...but then to burn his works and try to neutralise his genius is also a crime. The overriding notion that nothing good or elevated can come from a truly sick fucker in the way De Sade was is actually a load of bollocks.
He was a pervert and a sicko BUT his genius and his contribution to human history is intrinsically tied to his perversions and sickness, a difficult man to truly admire but i don't think he genius can really be denied, except by the squeamish and *stands up* by God, I am not of those
SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!
Might want to take your own advice sometime.
Sounds like I need to read the works of this guy. I'm always interested in disturbed geniuses. Sounds pretty sick though. Oh well, today's society is pretty sick in it's own way. I doubt it'll phase me too much!

Guns N' Roses. No doubt about that one, at least for me.
