  1. In my opinion BBF seems like the nicest guy you could ever meet. But, whenever I look at him I just see this guy has no personality or stage presence. He is so boring to watch live, it's almost unbelievable he has landed a gig in one of the biggest bands. I just look at him and I can't help to think, wow what a dork. I mean everything is just wrong and seems silly.... His weirdo foot guitar, his other strange guitar choices, his whole bearded monk look, his complete and utter awkwardness on stage and even his nickname "BBF" just leaves me scratching my head about the guy and wtf is he doing in GNR. I do feel somewhat like I shouldn't say these things about him as, like I said, he seems like a great guy. It's just that he comes off as a complete weirdo to me. I'm surprised so many fans have clung to him (I guess because he communicates a lot) because he just seems like such a dry personality. When he performs he stands in the same spot the whole show like a cardboard cutout. I'm sure he is a great session player but should not be on tour as a lead guitarist in a mega band like this. Sorry guys, but that's the truth.

Yes, yes, let's make the injured guy move about the stage some more.

But really, the man is in a great deal of pain. Add that with a double-necked guitar attached to his back and it's a wonder he moves as much as he does. I've seen the band play live twice, and Ron had great energy both times. The beginning of this thread was arguing that Ron is too "generic" and now you're arguing that he's too "weird." Not to make this a flame war, but Buckethead is by far the weirdest member to ever be in Guns, though second in talent to Ron (my opinion of course). And there's honestly not much special about Slash anymore. In most people's terms, he would be defined as generic. I love all three of these guitarists and I'm not trying to bash anybody, but I think Ron is the best guitarist GN'R has ever had. He's simply the best in my opinion.

  2. It sounds very spaghetti western, if you know what I mean. Reminiscent of Ron's song "Spaghetti." At least for me. It definitely wasn't DJ's best performance of the song but I'm sure it'll improve as the tour continues.

  3. The American way is the right way. Always. :)

Yeah? Then why didn't you invent the black box flight recorder which, may I point out, was invented by Australians.....how many American lives have we saved through this? :P

Does anyone have a full version of Guns singing Chip Away - Axl's voice always sounds so much better on cover versions apart from Bon Scott's voice. rock4

You, my friend, take things a bit too seriously. Unless you're just joking back of course. In that case, all is good. :)

  4. Would you rather him pretend to be somebody he's not? Ron is an awesome guy and an incredible guitarist. The awesome thing about Guns is that each member can be their true self. They don't have to act "rock n' roll." GN'R is about expressing who you are and not caring what anybody else thinks of you. And I think every member of this band fits that description. They're doing what they love while staying true to themselves.

  5. That's possibly the best Civil War I've heard from this line-up. Axl sounds great on it and Richard absolutely tears it up on his solo.

The Jungle video is awesome too. When Axl comes back in after Ron's solo...it's just simply awesome. His scream is great.

Looks like the 2010 voice may have met its match. :)

  6. Technically he wasn't wrong. Dublin got Estranged, Civil War, TWAT, Ashba 2.0, and Rons' new solo?.

Richard's new solo. I think Ron's was just Pink Panther with Danny Boy thrown in for the Irish crowd. I still haven't seen a video of Ron to be sure though.

You're right. I was thinking about Danny Boy. He practiced his new solo but never played it.

I'm also not too sure about the Irish crowd though. If they can't tell the difference between the James Bond theme and whatever it was that Richard played; who's to say that they know the Pink Panther theme when they hear it?

I'll wait for an actual video of Ron to surface before I'll say if he played something new or not.

He played Pink Panther and then threw in about 20-30 seconds of Danny Boy after around a minute of playing. There's a video out there but I'm on my phone and don't feel like going through the hastle of finding the link and posting it. :P

  7. We talked about it last night, Richard said it was just an original composition the guys thought was cool so they decided to change things up a little bit. He said it was his tribute to the band Cactus... the conversation spiralled a bit there and ended up being about the Bumblefoot song Cactus.

lol is he familiar with the BBF discography ?

I doubt many people know about this song...I mean, it's a hidden track on a BBF album.

If the company of tumbleweed is unexpected fun...you're a cactus. :D

  8. Ron is my favorite guitarist of all time. The guy's playing is like none other. He's outstanding. Buckethead is probably my second or third favorite. His playing is magical. I have a lot of love for both of them so I don't like seeing people back either of them. But Ron is in the band right now and he's doing incredible as always. Even with his injury. That man deserves a lot of credit.

  9. I heard this song live in Hamilton and I can assure you Ron did just fine with the solo. He was incredible as a matter of fact. I can't wait for a better quality video though. Axl sounds great and Ron's solo sounds pretty amazing.

  10. Everybody satisfied now? :)

    Well, atleast it's something different.

Now lets hop they begin to add more Chinese Democracy songs back in the set.

Or TWAT becomes a staple which would be awesome.

I know it came from DJ, but he hinted at new songs at Glasgow next week. And even if There Was A Time becomes a staple, people will still complain about the setlist. Same thing happened with Estranged and Civil War.

  11. I hate when Tommy sings never liked his voice I always thought he ruined It's So Easy

Really? I love Tommy's voice and his overall performance. He's true punk. There aren't many true punk rockers out there anymore.

  12. Starting college this fall. I'm pretty excited. My major is undecided right now and will be for my freshman year but I'd love to have a career in something artistic like music or film. Who knows what I'll end up doing though. I'd really like to produce. So I might end up majoring in management or something like that.

  13. I don't understand why so many people are freaking out about the setlist. It was only the second concert of this leg. Are they not allowed to have a warm up show? And for the people complaining about Civil War, we were lucky to get it in the first place. I'm sure it'll be added back to the setlist later on anyway. If you're a GN'R fan then you should know what you're getting yourself into. You know how this band functions. So seriously, stop with the excessive name calling and complaining.
