Former keyboardist & programmer of GUNS N 'ROSES, CHRIS PITMAN, explained his absence from the current tour and the formation of the group in which he was replaced by MELISSA REESE.

After a tweet truly controversial earlier this year, where Pitman had classified the return of Duff McKagan and Slash for a tour as 'contract to start a change', the musician public eye disappeared - as well as its tweet, which he attributed to a drinking binge.

At dawn today, posting in response to a Chilean forum dedicated to GN'R, Pitman explained his situation:

'Hello Brother! I have been out of Facebook for a while, but I gave up the band's past successes, they just want to repeat this stuff 30 years ago again, it's boring.

'But now, I have a brilliant new band with Danny [Carey] of TOOL and Matthew [Setzer] of SKINNY PUPPY ... and we are very excited! I hope you're well. '

Pitman joined GUNS N 'ROSES in 1998 and was employed in the group until February.

Who does not like or can not stand to hear about Axl Rose should move away from specialized news in rock and metal for at least the year. It is the name of the time. And it makes sense.

In the early days of the year, the rumor that Slash and Duff McKagan would be back to Guns N 'Roses confirmed. The first performances are taking place and, despite the return of two important musicians of classical training, only talk about Axl Rose. Compliments to the singer's voice make up the majority of comments on social networks and opinion pieces press and fansites.

Not only that, the rumor that Axl Rose would replace Brian Johnson, even temporarily, the AC / DC put even more spotlight on the singer. The rumor began baseless, but gained momentum in recent weeks to be finally confirmed. Now Rose is ahead of a Guns N 'Roses partially assembled - and immense media power - and an AC / DC dismembered in a curious partnership.

The truth is that this has been the year of Axl Rose because he decided it was. Ok, the opportunity in the AC / DC was a (unfortunate) chance, but the singer has always opted to stay reclusive and endured for many years in doing the right thing: accept the musicians (whether some, or all) that they did, the side of it, that Guns N 'Roses were great.

The mind of Axl Rose is an intriguing mystery precisely because his actions over the past two decades were controversial and he rarely bothered to give explanations. Why do so many lineup changes in recent times? Why take so long to release "Chinese Democracy" - with most of the songs had leaked in demo versions? Why there was such a great difficulty in making (or close) a major tour with previous training? Why prevent and demonize the press? Why just go back with Slash and Duff McKagan now?

Probably all these questions have answers. But Axl Rose prefers not to answer them. There are also questions linked to entering the AC / DC. But if Rose is not going to solve any doubts, imagine Angus Young, who is even more reclusive ?!

The mystery surrounding Axl Rose contributes to the legendary image that it looks like to have. The singer does not care even to be the villain of the whole story of your life - whether in matters relating to the band when, for example, was "accused" of "kick out" all the musicians from Guns N 'Roses from second half of the 1990s; whether in personal matters when, for example, he was accused (without quotation marks) of assaulting his ex-wives and preferred to millionaires agreements so that the trials were not ahead.

There are many questions and few answers. We only know that 2016 will be the year of Axl Rose, on the basis of a correct decision and chance as fuel. And follow without knowing it, from the mouth of Rose, the reasons that made 2016 his year. In the end, it might be more fun that way.

  4. Much speculation about what music should be played in the new tour of Guns. It follows, then, a list of ten songs that would be great and requested that reviveriam the golden 90s.

    So Fine

It is certainly one of the most anticipated by fans. Many gunners waited this ballad during the shows that have participated Duff. It's a song that sticks out, even competing with Civil War, KOHD, YCBM and other classics.

    Think About You

Everyone knows that the debut album is full of classics, as everyone knows. But there are also songs not played so well and are great songs. The beautiful Think About You is there to prove it.

    Anything Goes

It follows the same line as the previous song. It is an explosive song and refers to the group of crazy young people who started a band in 1985. The prurient content music is not played live since 87 and it would be a good surprise for the meeting.

    Coma

The longest music of Guns N 'Roses was rarely played live. It's ten minutes and fifteen seconds of perfect communion between the vocal and instrumental. It is certainly one of the best songs of the band.

    Locomotive

There is no visual records of this music being played live, it is known only that it was played three times. There are rumors that it would be played at the legendary 1992 show in Paris. One of the pearls of the Use Your Illusion

    Get in Ring

Of course, Axl has no age (or physical conditions) to stay short and box gloves on stage, but it would be a great song on the setlist, especially for its message against the media and that has value to the present day.

    Dead Horse

The last time Dead Horse was played was in emotional farewell show in Argentina in 1993. More than twenty years have passed and many fans would like to hear again this music, which is one of the best among non-classic.

    Dust N 'Bones

Almost twenty-four years have passed since this song was played for the last time. The Uyi II song was played for the first time in 1989 and for the last time in August 1992. It is another great song on the album, thinking that it shares space with Don't Cry and November Rain, for example. It is worth remembering.

    Bad Obsession

Harmonica Teddy announces the intro. Axl enters the stage with one of his typical shorts and starts dancing while singing this great song.

    Pretty Tied Up

Pedro Bial announced the last band of the night to perform at Rock in Rio. The band, now with Dizzy and Sorum, started playing the first notes. Axl wearing his legendary white coat comes in singing a song that would only be released later that year. The eighth band Uyi II was the opening song of one of the best shows of the band.

Three giant attractions are being prepared for the second half of this year, and the animal is on behind the scenes in intricate negotiations to adjust the details of the tours: AC / DC, which should have come at the end of last year, which is promoting the tour "Rock or Bust"; Black Sabbath, which as already disclosed, should bring his last tour to Brazil in the first half of December; and finally the new-old Guns N 'Roses, whose tour begins now in April in Las Vegas and should do six to eight shows in South America.

  6. Making a double album, did it take you back to your teenage years in the 70s and the classic doubles of that era, such as Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti and The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway by Genesis?

Bruce: Oh yes! The thing is, back then, in my group of friends, we used to go to each other’s houses and we’d all sit and listen to it, two of three of us. We’d play one side and go, ‘Wow, what did you think of that?’ We’d talk about it, go down and have a cup of tea or something, and then go back in for round two.

Dave: It reminds me of when I was a teenager, buying Physical Graffiti. I love the whole feel of a double album, that warm 70s vibe.

Ninety-two minutes of new Iron Maiden music is a lot to take in.

Bruce: It is (laughs). After all that, you need to lie down in a dark room.

Steve: Even the last album (The Final Frontier) was pretty long – 72 minutes or something. But we knew Bruce wrote Empire Of The Clouds that this album was going to be really bloody long. We don’t seem to be able to condense what we do.

    And you don’t want to?

Steve: Not necessarily. Having said that, there are some short songs on the album, Speed Of Light and Death Or Glory.

Bruce: After six songs we said, ‘Either we stop now, or it’s going to be a double album.’ Then we thought about all the possibilities for artwork – gatefolds and all that shit. Great! Let’s make it a double album. And of course the first thing Rod (Smallwood, Maiden manager) said was, ‘Oh no, it’s a pain the arse!’ I said, ‘Rod, it’s brilliant. I know the record company will possibly whinge, but Maiden fans will love it.’ So we won him over. Rod said, ‘Couldn’t you do Album 1 and Album 2?’ I said, ‘What, like [Guns N' Roses'] Use Your Illusion I and II? No, that’s bollocks. It’s one double album, and that’s what it should be.’

Adrian: It’s funny. On this album my idea was to get back to shorter songs. A couple of albums back, on Dance Of Death, I had a go at writing an epic with Paschendale. Just to challenge myself. This time I went for punchier songs like Speed Of Light, in the style of 2 Minutes To Midnight. Little did I know that this album would be the longest we’ve ever done, with the longest song we’ve ever done. Probably a good idea I didn’t write any epic. It would have been too much.

Bruce ensured that Quebec and Montreal will be in the band route on the upcoming tour and when asked about the memories of his previous visits to Canada, Bruce Dickinson said with humor reminiscent of a time he wanted to hit Axl Rose at the Colisée de Québec.

Guns N 'Roses opened the show of Iron Maiden and, according to Dickinson, Axl Rose would have told the public that the Maiden was only the main attraction because he spoke French. "I should have gone to the stage and punched him. How could he dare to talk to my audience in this way? I always regretted not having done so."

Translated a bit weird, but I think I got the gist of it.

Didn't Bruce pull the same shit with Ozzy? and get eggs pelted at him. And he still thought he was in the right. But! Bruce is a great singer, hurtling towards 60 and he shows no signs of slowing down. I generally I agree with what he said though. When you're opening the bill you pay respect to the headliner. Maybe on the last show if the headliner has been a proper dick to you, you pull some sort of prank or call them out backstage... but you leave it backstage.

"When you're opening the bill you pay respect to the headliner"

    this bro.

  9. In this post I want to outline the reasons in favor of Bumblefoot in, shall I say, the heated argument between him and the band.

The general outcome of this post is to underline that he deserves a lot more respects than he now gets.

I believe the reasons are not subjective, and exclude arguments such as "so cute", "pretty cool" or "the best".

This post should serve as a stimulant for a following discussion. It should work the best for open minded people. In the shadow of changes within the Guns N'Roses band, it is a good moment to update our retrospective view of things.

So to summarize my whole ided beforehand:

    1. BBF deserves a lot more respect in GNR history than he seems to get

    2. BBF shows other musicians how to deal with fans

    3. His decision to leave GNR is a sign of being creative, like an artist should

    4. fuckin bury Appetite already

I should start with saying that BBF changed the face of GNR - and hopefully, forever.

He was the first member of this band to acknowledge fans - and did a great job of it.

The band notorious for ignoring its fans finally got a musician who stood level with and one on one with the fans.

If you ever spent 10 hours doing a banner to welcome GNR in your country (sometimes for the first time ever) during their world tour, then arrived at the venue early morning of the show, waited around in the scorching sun to make sure to be the first in line when the gates are opened, and then stood another 10 hours in the first row, holding your banner, not going to the bathroom or to get a cold drink or a burrito to eat, clinching to that fuckin fence and making sure when the show starts 5 hours later than the ticket says (usually around midnite), and then wave your banner - if the was ever any one person to give you any kind of notice from the stage for your work and efford - it was Bumblefoot and Bumblefoot only. Who else? Buckethead?

Same goes for writing those 'will you marry me?' banners. BBF held it up for these girlfriends to see, during the GNR set. Now, that's some memories in the making right there.

I have never been to a GNR meet and greet, so I there's a certain limit to which I can be held realiable here, but still, I have seen thousands of meet and greet photos over the years, and all of them can be easily categorized into two groups:

    - a pack of mannequins stands there clueless next to a group of middle-aged-crisis fans, totally outta the place

    - a pack of mannequins stands there clueless next to a group of middle-aged-crisis fans, totally outta the place + Bumblefoot doing or at least trying to do something funny, unique or special for you, so you have something to show for the thousand bucks or however much it is you paid for them to pretend to care about you for a second. Such unique or specials things include pointing to the writing on your t-shirt, as in "I agree with that guy", or some other kind of nice gesture acknowledging your presence in the room. It's cool in my book. Even if some strike back "it's only BBF, he ain't no Slash", I still say the best you can get is take a picture home with you and next time you go to a bar, show these chicks and pricks that you had a picture taken with "that guy from GNR".

Up next, I think it was Rio 2010 when a GNR concert was cancelled. While Ashba was drunk and locked up in his suitcase, as he often boasted about during the interviews, and Tommy was drunk out of the fuckin loop, it was Bumblefoot who took his guitar, went outside the hotel and had an "acoustic impromptu" show with the fans (for a lack of a better word). Hanging around with them, singing songs, doing what ever monkey tricks they wanted him to do. Had it been me travelling a long distance to a show that got cancelled, taking time off work, going thru the hassle that only concert goes know, it would have meant the world to me that my effort was acknowledged, and even more so while all the other band memembers were in the same hotel and didn't give a shit to walk out, getting fat in their cozy, warm five star rooms with their mini bars. Fuck that.

And should I mention twitter? While Axl twitts fuck all and Matt talks shit about dolphins, over the years BBF has replied to as many of our stupid messages as he could. For me the best argument in here is that I created a twitter account to follow the band more easily - and the next time I logged on it I got a message that BBF follows me. And it came to me as even a bigger surprize bikoz for one, I didn't even ask him to, and two - I didn't even tweet shit! No messages, no posts, zero activity, nada. I swear to God.

I don't want to play band members against each other, but just to show you by comparison, Richard Fortus won't answer a tweet to save his life.

    Izzy's interaction with the fans?

Remember how in 2012 there was a voting regarding who should enter the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame? It was a close one between RHCP and GNR, and you could vote once an hour. Now, I went thru some much trouble to vote as often as I could, setting those alarm clocks every hour to remember to do it - I don't even know why, I just thought RNR HOF is serious business. Not to mention bugging friends to vote too. And don't tell me some of you didn't just as well. And Izzy didn't even show up to collect the award. It's thanks to people like me and you that he is a Hall of Famer, which basically means that his music will still be played on the radio for the next few years and the checks will keep coming. So as far as that goes, in my book "Where's Izzy?" changes into "Fuck Izzy!".

Message to butt-hutters : yeah, I love his solo discography too, I didn't even mention that so relax.

A lot of people root for Robin to come back to the band now. It was especially clear to see during the 2006 tour - a few, far and between, people would every now and then have a picture taken with Robin - nobody knows how, just somehow, maybe by accident or by some heavy stalking. They would post it here or on HTGTH, and worldwide masturbation would being.

    - aw ma gawd, Robin exists off stage too?

    - aw ma gawd, #Robin Finck Starts Now

I was one of those people too, whenever I saw someone else take a picture with Robin, I'd feel the same feeling of excitement and thrill when people drop the word "THE VAULT" here. Is this something you would call interaction with fans? And as much as I love his style of playing and I know he is an artist, Robin Finck-the-GNR-member is a fuckin mannequin, not much more than that. He doesn't exist before the show and he doesn't exist after the show. He never did interviews, no videos, and once he had a website that had pretty much nothing on it. His only purpose was to stand on stage for two hours and play and then dissapear.

Again, butt-hutters - I love Robin, I'm just objectively sayin as far as acknowledging that YOU AND ME exist, BBF fucked Robin in the ass like they fuck on the discovery channel

It's a little different with Buckethead, bikoz with him it's an open and fair game - it is his identity and he must remain a certain character. And he does a great job of it bikoz being, what, 25 years in the business and still nobody knows jackshit about him. That's different. That's not because he neglects people. He makes it a lot more interesting.

I will now compare Axl to Bumblefoot and focus on one little fact - being patient with people. While Axl is known for throwing fans out of the shows, abusing them verbally or even hitting them - Bumblefoot had to put up with TONS more shit than Axl, and NEVER lost temper.

I for one met BBF once, and was quite drunk while so, doing the drunken talk just to use up some of his time, thinking "hey, I deserve this". The day after I felt stupid - should have just let the guy go, but instead he was there, standing sober with his poker face, and I was blabbering shit faced how many times I saw them live, how many albums I have and what not. If the roles had changed, I would have smacked myself in the fuckin face. This guy is a Mother Theresa of meeting with fans. And yet, it's fans to turn against him.

Thankfully, when DJ Ashba joined the band, he followed suit and was also open to interact with fans. I hope it stays that way with both new guitarists. It's a fuckin minimum, if you ask me.

    Now, finally.

I'm fucking sick of AFD too

BBF did right to leave this band to seek personal fulfillment - he is an artist, unlike some

I'll use a quick argument here. I live in Europe. I saw GNR live five times in four different countries. I saw Slash too, twice in my country, and I saw Adler. I traveled approx 2'500 miles to see Adler live, bikoz he didn't tour in central / eastern europe. And guess what. All those shows had one thing in common - they all played Appetite to the hilt. Up to fuckin ten songs from one album. Even when Slash played the same country twice in the space of two years, he still tortured us with AFD. Sure it's a crowd pleaser for sunday rockers, but maybe it's just me but I'm fuckin sick of this album. I fuckin hate it at times. GNR had so many side projects, and no matter who you see from the original squad, they shove AFD like they shove dicks up groupies asses. That's not what I call being an artist - piggy riding one fuckin album for your entire career. Creating side projects with random people just to have one more chance to hit the road and play AFD songs anyway.

Think of yourself spending 9 years of your live staying loyal to a band, and all you get is a "touring member" patch. Not a SINGLE song written. And those were 9 active years, not the Paul Tobias years, which means you had to leave home, miss your family, leave friends behind to play somebody else's songs and answer drunk tweets.

If BBF can't stand playing AFD for another 10 years - I get that bikoz I can't listen to it either. If I were him, I'd much rather play something else too.

For those out there, who say BBF sucks bikoz they dont like his style of playing - opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. We all are entitled to our opinions. As long as it is said "I don't like that kinda playing", it's all fine. But I think the moment you say "he can't play" you should prove to us that you are a guitar expert to cast the first stone - get a video camera, get a guitar and record yourself playing better than he does. I than will believe you, but until then the "I hate BBF bikoz he can't play" argument won't stand.

    Care to join?

    Great post bro.

    Tanx.
