Out of all the acoustic songs Guns could play, including several they have written, why this. Could have done acoustic KOHD

Any videos of this sound check hard school?

Why's nobody shouted for Eye on You? It's what they've all paid $$$ to hear!

Weird how the rasp returns on fast rockers like SOYL. Would like to hear Perfect Crime in light of this.

I thought same thing. And I suspect Hard School on the Alt list may be the band trolling us too, like Perfect Crime last year.

I get disappointed when Axl sings so much in his clean voice not least because I could sing this full set in a clean voice no problem. I can do a lot of rasp too but not for three hours, my voice would blow out. What makes Axl amazing to me is his ability to use rasp for so long and it sound great (like he did just very recently with AC/DC). But then again, I'm not 57, I can't sing anywhere near as good as Axl could in his 20s in mine. What he needs is Steven Tyler's vocal coach. That man's voice hasn't aged at all from what I hear.

He’s not brilliant - but he’s nowhere near as bad as he normally is on the opening show of a leg after a layoff. I’d even go as far as saying he sounds good !

I really like it, not Mickey though. He was very much in control of the song. Wasn’t out of breath and bosses the outro. The only disappointment was no intro and the short scream at the end, everything else was grand IMO.
Yes it seems he actively chose to do a full clean jungle which was better than an unintended mickey because it enabled him to control the song more as you say. If you like his clean voice on rockers then you are going to very much enjoy this tour. I only like Axl's clean voice on ballads because I think the rasp is what makes the hard rocking songs more extraordinary and differentiates them from say Myles Kennedy singing them.

Axl sang Jungle really well IMO
You like his clean voice then? I prefer it raspy. I think most people could sing that clean no problem what makes it unique is Axl's signature rasp

Axl did a clean "Fuck Off" in it's So Easy (not usually a good sign because it means his rasp isn't going to come easy later in the show), he did a bit of rasp at the end of It's So Easy but was a bit shaky with it. Lots of clean highs in Mr. Brownstone. Evil sinister voice made an appearance in Chinese Democracy but I've never heard him struggle with that. What was different was that voice even went clean for a bit which was weird. And now we have an almost full clean Jungle. For some reason, he either can't or does not want to use his rasp too much live tonight. I just hope it's because he is saving it for a new CD or new songs. It is a very destructive vocal style.

Would like to hear any new songs (not covers) and things from Illusions that haven't been played since 1993. Sympathy for the Devil would be nice to hear live because it has never been sung by Axl live. That is all, GNR if you are reading this, thank you.

If Axl had put vocals on these tracks they would be the best he has recorded since Slash left I think
-
The Hey Hey's would sound very cool like Alice in Chains without the cringy 'I know you think your'e bad but who's the Macdaddy'!

My heart bleeds for leaks More leaks that is! What a brilliant song.

I love this song. I think with a bit more rasp and another solo this could have been a masterpiece like Estranged. The lyrics are great and the tempo. Brian May's solo really lifts the whole thing as well.

can someone transcribe the lyrics to the 37sec of checkmate/hard school/jackie chan?
All cautions made
Every chance was given
No effort spared
To save what we had... can sb continue with the lyrics?
I've heard a slightly longer version of the old checkmate leak and pretty sure the next verse starts:
'All in good faith'
And for some reason, I've always had this in my head following (not certain at all with this but read lyrics along these lines years ago somewhere and they fit):
All in good faith
But you didn't listen
You walked away
Destroyed what we had
Motherfuckers in game, it's checkmate.
