  1. Unless you visited boards like these, no one would know about the tour.

yea, the million+ people they've played to aall frequent mygnr and htgth, you're a fucking genius.

if only you anti-new band mongoloids weren't so fucking stupid, you'd be wholly more tolerable.

"anti band mongoloids" :D Wonder what drives them to post here at all? but they are mentally comparable to play-dough!

  2. I hate this song with a passion and the first time I heard it I couldn't help but laugh and figured I would just skip when ever I listened to CD. Then GNR started the CD 3.4.6 tour and they were playing it live. I never thought in a million years Axl would play it live. It's by far the most cringe worthy song I've ever heard. What the fuck was axl thinking?

I'm thinkin' your a fkn idiot, who wouldn't know a good song if it splattered on your face, you are cringe-worthy as well as tone deaf, insensitive, and it's real easy to knock somone.*s efforts from behind ur puter keys, how many songs have u written? and your signature is more relevant and revealing than you probly meant it ta be,so suck on that behind your cyber safety net

Congratulations! Shittest post of the day award! Here's tip bud, it's a discussion forum, not everybody has to agree. I love the song to be fair but DB's entitled to his opinion.

I just know fuck, money, blood, and "stop, she said no".

    True dat! :rofl-lol:

Dazed and very confused, someday maybe you'll not be afraid to show your real emotions to the world and stop hiding behind false bravado, It''s a brilliant song with heartfelt lyrics, but who really cares what a fake Bowie and a rip-off of a zepplin song think on a fkn message board? Won't change my opinion at all kids ;)

  3. "Immigrants and f***ts /They make no sense to me /They come to our country

And think they'll do as they please/ Like start some mini Iran /Or spread some fucking disease /They talk so many goddamn ways

It's all greek to me /Well some say I'm lazy/ And others say that's just me

Some say I'm crazy /I guess I'll always be /But it's been such a long time

Since I knew right from wrong ./It's all the means to an end, I,/I keep on movin' along"

    ----------

I think that pretty much sums it up.

Why do we still tlak about this song. If you read teh cover of Lies, you'll notice a apology, and the song is called "generic and generalized." If obvious Axl knew he was gonn be flamed for this.

Axl isn't homophobic or racist. He play's with a black drummer, has played with a half-black guitarist, and he wanted NWA, a rap group, to open for them during the illusion tour. He also has played with Elton John, and has mentioned two of his musical influences are Elton John and Freddie Mercury, two homosexuals.

But, really, why talk about it. It's not played on the radio, not a hit single, does'nt have a video, isn't ever played live anymore (with it only played live once, I think).

    edit: kidding

A person's views can change in over 2 decades....

It was only a few months ago that Axl used "lesbian cunt" as an insult.

And it was well deserved and overdue

  5. I like Warrant, Poisonm etc.

But the bands that came a few years later blows them out of the water. Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Screaming Trees, Alice In Chains, etc.

Take Pearl Jam for example. They are down to earth, lyrics are real and emotional, music is genuine and good, and they are amazing live.

Alice in Chains is a great band, they are one step above the bands you just mentioned imho.... pearl jam? i honestly don't like em i see eddie vedder like a miserable human being

How come you see him as a "miserable human being"?

is just my opinion, but he seems to always try hard to look cool or smart or intelligent and i might be very stupid, not cool and dumb but i only see him as miserable.

he just doesn't seem happy with anything, or tries to portray that image... even Cobain, as genuine as he was looked better

if he hates his life that much he should try something else, flipping burgers or working at a car wash, but he doesn't seem happy being a rock star

again is just my opionion Whazup, is nothing personal. Jerry Cantrell, now that's a genius

I seriously love cantrell's Lyrics, whomever said they liked Warrant :D is beyond help, poison, and shit-bands like this are a fkn joke, don't like pearl jam either-he is trying to do a terrible Morrison impersonation imo

  6. Of course I would like a new CD but if I was American I would be pretty annoyed that they toured Europe etc and skipped us :fuckyou:

I cannot believe the arrogance, by a bunch of uninformed nimrods, that have no fkn idea of what activity is going on in GNR land, So there was no promotion,no media-whoring, and no selling out, after the release of CD,that is something special that it still went platinum, still is regarded in non-cupcake circles as something special or the usual group of idiots wouldn't be taking the tracks apart,I am still listening to it, still attending concerts (soon)and continue to support the band I have loved since 87', when you find something you really love you don't turn coat or jump camps-Don't like GNR? don't fucking attend the concerts, simple!

  7. Just out of curiosity, what bands besides gnr do you like?

he don't even like GNR, just Axl and whoever happens to be playing with him...

Are you in the fucking habit of answering questions not directed at you? how stupid/rude, and hate ta break the news to ya but Fortus,Ferrer,Ashba,Reed,Thal,Ashba and Axl ARE Guns N' Roses, like it or not,not concerned with any pathetic, whiny, answer you may concoct in your limited cereberal matter,so don't try,See ya in Sydney! ;)

  8. 'Axl Vs Grohl'

    ?

/check out the track on the new Slash album feat. Dave Grohl & Slash - It's really something

It's terrible, just like the rest of Slash's solo album... sounds like a collection of terrible B-sides.

    AGREED! It's Pathetic

  9. Axl doesn't seem to trust too many people in the media.

He was pissed off at comments made after the VMA appearance. But I think he should be making the talk show rounds on American TV next year.

Kurt Loder is still with MTV, as a film critic.

Question: Do you trust the media, imo they seem to have a personal vendetta against Axl + GNR, I see more negative than positive written, and whom would you suggest do the interview? (Not Larry King)! Most of the reporters are fucking Muppets in suits.

  10. As much talented as they might be, we're talking about Guns N' Roses, not Axl and friends.

No actually, you wanna check the register.

    Or even wikipedia.

The current line-up is Guns N' Roses. The old line-up were Guns N' Roses.

    :rofl-lol:

They won't even come close to the 'old' GN'R...

But than again, besides some handfull of people on the forums, nobody sees this version as GN'R.

    +1

The Axlites are so brainwashed that it's just funny. They kinda remind me of religious people who constantly bitch about "There's is a god and I don't care about logic thinking" bla bla bla. You just can't talk sense into their easily manipulative heads, just like the Axlites on these boards...

Guns N' Roses need five ingredients to be complete, and those ingredients are Steven, Duff, Slash, Izzy and Axl. Right now Guns N' Roses is just like a pizza with no cheese, tomato sause, oregano or meat. Pretty fucking boring in other words.

Blindly believing in reunion till kingdom comes, despite all the flip-flops of a false prophet is the dumbest of all fan religions.'Gn'R is Steven, Duff, Slash,Izzy and Axl' is as much the religious mantra of the Slashites/Reunionites as ' God so loved the world that he gave his only 123 so that you may believe in him and have everlasting life' or ' Hear O 456, your God is one' or 'there is no God but ABC and XYZ is his prophet'. Religious frenzy can blind very similar but different beliefs into thinking that their way is the truth and everything else is crap.

Times running out. A world tour feat. the real GN'R would be something

Yep, times running out and it'll never happen. How do I know? Slash had dug himself into a grave to much to just call Axl up and be like, "yo wanna reunite?" He has manipulated the public media in the defense that Axl wanted full control and he was this little kid who just wanted to play rock music. For all we know, It seems that Sash cared about himself than Guns N' Roses, even so far as to leave to do his own solo project in the middle of the recording process of the next album after the Illusions.

He also seems to be saying things like Axl has to do this, do that. Sound pretty "shut up and sing" to me.

Since Axl denied the material, claiming it was just "blues riff and nothing else," he to record himself, little did he know that Axl would want them latter with Slash to say "too late."

He even would say things like "Stephanie Seymour ballads," and he just can't stop saying how much he can't stand Sweet Child O' Mine.

He, unlike Axl, is very inconsistent and changes his story all the time. Just like with the Axl house story he said. First he went over his house, then he say's he was drove by Perla to talk to Axl, then he says he left him a note. Which one is it? It just never seems like Slash is generally saying what he feels sometime.

One week he'll say he'll never reunite, no matter how much they put on the table, than in a few weeks he say's how much he thinks Axl Rose is a good musician.

And now with all the fisaco with Axl being late at the Reading and Dublin shows, he probably felt it was a good time to say he couldn't stand Axl going on late. Even to say that GN'R going on late when Duff was there left "a bad taste in his mouth." But Duff, in his interveiw, didn't mention anything about that. It's seems Slash may have been jealous or bitter.

In my view, and even if he says he will never reunite, if Axl called Slash to do one show, he would fly across the globe for it. He's been living off other the GN'R name forever. Even to go so far as to still wear the top hat, braclets, and leather pants. Slash looks like ACDC sounds, because he had wore the same stuff for 20 years. He's more of a image now that a musician, always wearing the top hat and cigeratte. Even Axl tried to reinvent himself with the braid, Slash hasn't even cut his hair in the last 14 years. Or atleast ditched the leather pants, um someone please tell Slash it's 2010, not 1987.

In my opinion, Slash is a master manipulater, always painting Axl as the band guy and always has to make little gabs, or a song (Crucify the Dead) about him.

Like I said before, I think Slash has dug himself to deep in a hole for Axl to reunite with him. Everybody wants a reunion besides Axl because Axl doesn't wanna throw in the flag. He's has built the new GN'R from the ground up for him to just throw them away. He has to much pride and intergrity to just throw everything he's said and played with to the curb for the man he has hated for nearly 15 years and some extra money.

If anything, a charity concert or the RN'R Hall of Fame cerimony is probably the only time we'll see them together.

Exactly. All this reunion talk and support for Slash by his apologists, pigheadedly ignores the fact that there are two people here who CANNOT get along with each other, with one of them viscerally hating the other and seeing him as a chronic liar and an inveterate, manipulative cheat. It doesn't matter that they were thick as brothers or shared a lot of things and gave the world beautiful music. To use an analogy, if you were to compare Axl and Slash to a husband and wife who were once in a marriage - this is just like people who fall in love and get married and have children and get divorced. In some cases, the two people involved, perhaps after a long time, can still be friends again ( if this were Axl and Duff), but it isn't). In other cases, no matter what length of time, if things happened acrimoniously and they continue to toss barbs at each other through other people (Axl and Slash) , they may never ever talk to each other again. No matter how great it was when they were together or how great the sex was or how many great kids they had or how many friends they had in common, they will never EVER get back together - maybe, if they do for a romp in the hay for old times sake, even if it's good fun, they may just realize how crazy things were and that they cannot stand each others company.

Axl cannot stand Slash and Slash continues to rile him.

Taking this analogy further and going back to the religion comparison.

The Axlites are like kids who choose to side with one parent, say the Dad,and are okay living with his new spouse and the Slashites are like kids who choose to blame that parent and have issues with his new wife and still pray every night that Daddy and Mommy patch up and just find a way to get along. The Axlites are practical and the Slashites/Reunionites are the ones living in some make believe religious/fantasy world..

Bottom line - no matter how much anyone wishes for a reunion and no matter how great or not so great it might be, it's extremely unlikely. The people who aren't enjoying the music that we are getting now are just chronic whiners who aren't happy and just want to whine loud enough to let everyone know that they aren't.

how TRUE this is,slash is a manipulating, lying, showboat, who changes his stories routinely, is stuck in his "image" and tried for years to make Axl the villian in the breakup, fuck this mediawhore!

  11. Axl plays his and GNR's way. I wasn't going to mention Slash, but as you did, he plays the media way.

Yes, that is true Manets, anything to promote himself, his half-ass music, and try to weasel his way into the media spotlight

  12. While in line last week at the Danzig show, GNR somehow came up in the conversation. I was wearing a Chinese Democracy T-shirt and the guy behind was like " Yeah Dude! Chinese Democracy rules!" The guy in front of us was like, "It's OK but it isn't GN'R" The kid behind me was upset and said 'Axl can do what he wants, it's his band! I'm the biggest GNR fan, I know!" The dude in front of us said ' Son, you are about 16 or so. Who are YOU to educate me on GN'R?" He then revealed a HUGE tattoo on his back of the AFD lineup. The kid behind me was shocked and silenced.

I guarantee everyone who reads this thread the above senario is fabricated.

And just to note, people who are fans of the current line-up aren't in it to discuss Axl's mustache, it's a kick-ass band period.

If I should run into a similar situation I'll make sure I record it for you. Yeah it's highly unlikely that people would discuss rock music in line at a rock show

He even used the word educate? Hmm, a bit like a former banned members favourite catchphrase for New GnR fans, too! How coincidental. Maybe it did dude, but they didn't use that language. ;)

    Agreed, too convienient, too cliche'

    worth a thread? NO >: (

  13. Well, of course those musicians have everything left to prove as songwriters ( at least as part of GnR ).

However, as far as being a live band is concerned, it's pretty simple : I have yet to see a better rock "band" than those guys.

And I've seen AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Muse, NIN and other huge acts...This "cover" band put on a better show without even having to try too hard. :shrugs:

Agreed!! The Reading,Leeds and 02 shows blew any other band outta the water, and we even got extra entertainment at Reading!

Why oh why does every topic have to turn into a slash vs whomever topic? He is not in the band by his own choice, and can't write good lyrics worth a shit! BBF, Ashba, or fortus are clearly superior and aren't cliche' -stuck in the 80's!

  14. Over or under.....10 times Jarmo's jacked off to that.

    I'm gonna go over....way over.

Are you implying Jarmo had sex with Axl?

    Pffft...in his dreams.....

...no seriously....he's probably fucked Axl in his dreams.

    :D:D:D

Over or under.....10 times Jarmo's jacked off to that.

    I'm gonna go over....way over.

    hahahahahahahaha!

  15. I come here for the news...and that's about it. Sometimes I fuck around, say some stupid shit for fun or something, but really, that's it.

From what I've read Nintari has a crush on Jarmo :D

    :D

    Who wouldn't....

  16. Axl Rose: The Rolling Stone Interview

    Rolling Stone, April 2nd 1992, RS627

    link: http://heretodaygonetohell.com/articles/showarticle.php?articleid=56

Q: One thing that has people exasperated is the late show times. Why do you go on so late?

Axl: I pretty much follow my own internal clock, and I perform better later at night. Nothing seems to work out for me until later at night. And it is our show. I don't want to make people sit around and wait -- it drives me nuts. That hour-and-a-half or two-hour time period that I'm late going onstage is living hell, because I'm wishing there was any way on earth I could get out of where I am and knowing I'm not going to be able to make it. I'm late to everything. I've always wanted to have it written in my will that when I die, the coffin shows up a half-hour late and says on the side, like in gold, SORRY I'M LATE.

Q: What goes on before you take the stage? What actually makes you late?

Axl: The chiropractor we work with on the road tapes my ankles professionally. I kept twisting my ankles during shows, and it still happens now and then. I have weak ankles, always have. I used to run cross-country, and that was one of the things that got in the way of that. So I work with a chiropractor. I work with a massage therapist, because I put a lot of stress in my lower back, and with what I do onstage, there's a lot of rebuilding that has to be done. There's operatic voice exercise. And I started therapy in February (1991) and, Jesus, I'm right in the middle of stuff. I mean, if a heavy emotional issue surfaces and you've got a show in four hours, you have to figure out how to get that sorted out really quick before you get onstage so that you're really quick before you get onstage so that you're not in the middle of "Jungle" and have a breakdown. The pressure of having to do the show when whatever else is going on in my life is hard to get past. We did a show in Finland where I just couldn't understand why I was doing what I was doing. I sat down while I was singing "Civil War," and I was kind of looking at my lips while I was singing and looking at the microphone and looking at the roadies, and everything just shut off. Well, that doesn't make for a very good show. We're out there to win at what we do. And if that means going on two hours late and doing a good show, I'm gonna do it. I take what I do very seriously.

This! Some people's circadian clocks don't operate on a set schedule, why not wait and put on the best show possible? the London 02 shows were killer! And since when are there rules in Rock? It's not the poor castrated bastard of a mighty genre that permeates the very airwaves on most radio,It's wild, untamed and a bit Dangerous and unpredictable, GNR represents it well imo

  17. Only if Axl could give another interview! He could be the Rolling Stone cover with a phonecall.

Sure, and then he could be misquoted, misinterpreted, and this entire forum would go to town with their own interpretations of what was actually said, and what questions should have been asked, sounds like fun to me

  18. If he's stuck finding an axeman in future, Axl should consider using John Frusciante since he is commitment free after leaving the Chili Peppers.

Ironically, John and Axl have similar personalities and the chemistry would be good. John can also write songs

lol we're losing a guitar player again?! RATS!

    :P lmaoo

nope, shakamaker is simply the forum's current faux insider/biggest idiot. ;)
