I care about this site more than GNR.
i agree its way more than just a gnr site. Hell i didn't even really have a profile, answer pm's or friend requests and i still managed to make friends, come to respect and learn from people. I was totally against forums and online chatting when came here and only joined because it was gnr and it came to be so much more, i am sorry to see it go and i hope someone comes through and saves it at the last minute. I'm very dyslexic and this forum has help me write which is something i hate to do and to be comfortable with it, it has encouraged me to go back to college almost done, it get over a boyfriends suicide and to not be such a baby about chatting online or expressing my opinion to strangers. That really we all just people. I was going to update my profile and make a avatar next week dammit.

What exactly do you all think Eric owes you?
Sounds like he did this forum because he loved the band.
It sounds like it was at his expense (mostly) and now GNR itself says basically "shut it down".
So, if Axl himself owes nothing to anybody, what the fuck do you think Eric owes?

True. But I would love to know if there's more behind this closure than a simple "I'm tired of this. I quit" issue. Things seems to go deeper than that.

guns doesn't have to release albums or do interviews or have silly photoshoots.
they just have to keep doing what they do. as of the year 2011, they play massive world tours, massive music festivals around the world, and have released a hit album that went platinum around the world and is still tearing up the charts a full two years later. i think axl has proven he knows how to run a band better than anyone on this forum, unless of course some of you are keeping secret the fact that you are international music celebrities.
so thanks for all the hot tips from all the people with a millionth of the talent and accomplishments axl has. file it under: rat's ass.
It's true that GnR are doing great...but they could be doing a lot better too...and I'm happy whatever they do, but I won't lie, I would love to see them releasing albums and do interviews. I mean, that's what bands do. Music.

I don't need a web site or critic to tell me what's cool or not. I liked ChiDem a lot and still do. I don't necessarily consider it a "comeback album" so much as a new album with a lot of interesting direction/ideas.
Metacritic is the type of site that's always going to diss on albums like this and promote the more obscure lesser known bands I often find boring. Honestly, it's typical fare for them.

Hmm.... they also didn't like BGWTB. They claim that the album's modest success is one of the motives to call it "just average". Ah well, whatever. Fuck you Metacritic.

So...? Metacritic can shove this shit up their asses. So they think CD sucks? Who Cares? I know what I like and I don't need somebody to tell me what's good or bad. These critics seem to forget that their rating on an album is merely an opinion that is as worthy as mine. I mean, Who gives a fuck about what Jason DIetz has to say? What a bunch of arrogant SOB's.

think about articles from Rolling Stone, (or where was it) before the album was out, were they actually stated that what the world needs now is Axl Rose and the good review Chinese Democracy got.
think of Kurt Loader report on Rock and Rio 2001 and MTV in general - I mean they had a special presentation of what has happen before the 2002 VMA, I sow it on MTV for God sake, about some years ago! were they stated that GNR effectively stole the night for the likes as puff didy and shit.
think about Classic Rock Magazine or who, that in 2007 voted Chinese Democracy the best album of the year - based only on the licks!
and so on man....
so yes there are the likes as Kerrag and shit, who really got their ass burn in Get In The Ring, so they'll forever be against Axl or GNR.
but.. just a but here - don't you know that with money you can make journalists bias? don't you think that it was to obvious what the press was doing in Canada and Europe? I mean, com'on man, I've been to 2 shows in 2 different countries in Europe, and the band was on fire and the public loved it all the way, they gave cheers for each song from Chinese Democracy album, and were blown away by the likes as Madagascar and This I Love.
and each time the reviews of the concert were only about the lateness, the outfitted, and that only the old songs entertained the public. so, it could all be, by all means, just the way a paradigm is evolving, or someone intentionally perpetuated this kind of reviews.
don't you know that reporters all over (almost) the Europe were slammed by the fans? I remember reading this in Italy, France and Switzerland and Austria as well. and in Romania as well - were I am from. but in the North countries and in Russia, Spain, Serbia, Czech Republic they were praised!
anyway, so what isn't this what rock is about? to not give a fuck if the general consent is favorable to you!?

I was just remembering how good Rayman 2 was. I was simply amazed by how weird the levels were, it was impossible to guess how the stage would end. Definetely a classic.

Nice. Axl may be a little "clumsy" with his fans sometimes, but I'm sure he really cares about us.

Ok, you may not like the album, your opinion, I respect that, but the album is not "generic sounding". how many albums sound like that? CD has no labels. On the other hand AFD, a great album, nevertheless, and most of Slash's post Gn'R stuff are simple "hard rock with bluesy influences" albums.
