  1. I think Axl succeeding like he is at the moment without the involvement of Slash or any of the other guys from GNR is the best thing that could happen to him. He always had all the critics saying he couldn't make it without the original guys in general and Slash in particular. Maybe after this he will feel like he has proved himself, leading to him feeling confident enough to let more originals in the band (Izzy!) and/or record with Slash. Just speculating... Btw so happy for the guy!

  2. I can think of two reasons for people to care about Axl's looks without being "fake fans"

    1. We all want GNR to be taken seriously and regarded as a force to be reckoned with in this reunion - the beautiful, youthful rebellion rock star Axl coming back as a regular aging middle aged man is an easy target and will take focus from the music and shows

    2. Most of us look at clips from the early 90's, or remember it in our minds, and feel like it's yesterday. Axl al of a sudden appearing as an old man is scary, it reminds us of our own aging and how time flies.

I thought I heard him say "Make America Great Again", but I had too many cervesas in me at that point.  I wish I had mainlined alcohol or just not drank beer tonight.  Too crazy of a place to keep trying to go take a piss.

    He is a Trump supporter?!

Yeah, because he shouldn't be wearing that bandana anymore. It makes his face look more bloated and his hair is not straight like in the 90's, so that short hair with lots of frizz make him look really really old and fat.

I agree. That bandana really is extremely unflattering. Maybe he can reintroduce when he loses 20 lbs and grows his hair a bit. Or just keep away from it, he looks perfectly fine without it.

  5. I'm seriously bummed about Axl's foot situation. Here you have this whole new generation to get to know GNR and Axl is wheeled in and put in a chair. That is so the opposite of what GNR has always been about, i.e. energy, and Axl accounts for about 80 percent of that. I am sorry but I thought the Vegas shows were really suffering from this, Slash and Duff were sort of just walking around casually. Axl's stage presence when not crippled is a whole different beast.

He said as much in one of his Eddie Trunk interviews in the fall. I'm a huge Steven fan and I'm rooting for him, but I didn't just make that up. It sounded like he didn't consider UYI to even be "real" GNR. He said he'd want to bring Matt on for them.

I mean maybe if they issued him an ultimatum and said if you want the job you'd be alone, learn all the songs, he'd try.... but he didn't seem interested and I don't know if he could, to be honest.... DTJ... Estranged... Coma. I think he'd keep healthy for a tour, but I don't know if he'd learn 20+ new songs capably and confidently for a stadium tour.

Would Steven actually be that stupid? I mean he has been begging to come back for 25 years, and if he gets to do so he is going to be high maintenance, have opinions about what songs are "real GNR" and refuse to play anything else, forcing the shows to be tailored around the drumming? That's the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

  7. Given the magnitude of the tour and the fact that Steven is barely even a professional musician, well at least not on the level of the others, I would settle for a few guest appearances by him and let Frank stay. He seems like a great guy and he seems to get along great with everybody. No need to kick him out for Sorum either, I don't think it would be positive for Axl's mental health to have the VR trio as a group within the group.

Fortus on the other hand... I have no opinions on him, don't know what he contributes at all, It would be great to have Izzy on full time instead if he wants to be there.
