Not a negative article either! Good to see that they are expecting "many more dates" to come out soon...

Probably just Axl being on a quieting-down-GNR-tirade.
Must be hard to see how everything ever released is connected with Slash-chemistry.
If he had been more active during 2000-2010 it would have been a different story. Now history and being stubborn bites his ass - hard.
If only Axl gave rumors the time of day and defended himself. Past 10 years he has been fighting to keep the band going. Can't remember exactly but I think Brain said there were something like 38 CD-related lawsuits... You don't think these helped (not entirely) hold things up?
-
Well that's great but some of us enjoy them.... What's next though???
-
Does anyone have any info on why GNR are asking (forcing) guys like Marty (Guitar Jamz) to remove their tutorials from YouTube? Marty mentioned that it wasn't anyone in the band who is initiating this. Someone in management perhaps, or record label? Who knows but hopefully this doesn't spread to other bands as well....
Guitar Jamz
guns n roses want their youtube videos taken down. (sub comment "i don't blame any of the members of the band.")
sorry about all the guns n roses stuff you guys. winds of change, more to come unfortunately.
this one's ok for now. (in reference to Slash's KOHD solo, Guns N Roses text taken out of the title)
hey everyone, marty here, thanks for the well wishes and support. I'll have some new youtube lessons soon.
with the GnR thing, .....

I guess the rehersals went well?

Axl just finished a year-long multi-million dollar tour last November.
I'd be extremely surprised if he'd be short on money. That's almost impossible I'd say.
It may be possible...
CD was a long and financially draining album to make, it's sales were not spectacular (lack of promotion, selling CDs in the digital age, the album not living up to the hype, etc.) and the fact that it isn't just Axl getting the paycheck, to finance a tour you have to pay the crew, the other band mates, and many, many, many more people.
Maybe they aren't broke broke per say, but from my perspective it is entirely possible for GNR to not have as much in the bank as they would like
On the contrary, they made their money back via the BB exclusive deal. They (well Axl) have made a killing from the tours.
-
I'm not going to go and see them if the setlist is the same as it's been for the past few tours.
Which shows did you go to over the past few tours?

Chinese Democracy was one of the coolest opening songs I've ever seen. CD/WTTJ makes a great one-two punch IMO.

Hahaha. This thread is sucha joke it's not even funny.
What I love is how appetite was actually written and played by a band. They could talk and communicate. Everyone had an equal say. And I think that played A huge factor in it's success both critically and commercially.
Chinese was written and played by a revolving door of musicians. They spoke when spoken to, and one man at the end of the day had the final word. And I think that playe a HUGE factor of why it flopped.
Think the majority of fans would even care if they played anything off chinese ever again? Probably not. But you can bet fans would go APESHIT if they never played sweet child again. That's the everlasting impression appe.tite has left 24 years later. Chinese, as sad as some of you may view it, will be nothing more than a faded memory 24 years from now. That's why appetite accomplished so much more than chinese. It spoke and still speaks to people like very few rock albums can.
You must not have been to a concert recently. Fans actually go APESHIT whenever a CD is played.

Track versus track is always illogical. It makes more sense to do the best songs versus the worst songs. I'm trying to figure a way to write just why it's illogical. I'm not the best at explaining things, which is why I could never be a teacher.
And yeah, it's based on luck. A song had the chance of being up against another song.
What the f*** are you talking about?
Okay dog. Let's try something different... Best track of Appetite for Destruction vs best track of Chinese Democracy.
The final showdown!
Sweet Child O' Mine vs There Was A Time
NO CONTEST! There Was A Time wins easily. Still now, Chinese Democracy wins.
How about we do worst track of Appetite for Destruction vs worst track of Chinese Democracy?
Anything Goes vs If The World
If The World is by far a greater song... So Chinese Democracy wins again.
I love both albums and I love Guns N Roses, but if we need to choose one album, it is proven that Chinese Democracy is the best album by GNR.
SCOM is one of the best songs ever.... Nuff said...
ITW isn't the weakest song off of CD either. It's all a matter of opinion as well....

Plus add in how Rhiad was taken out....

i saw axl last year... i would love to actually hear him this time... then they can add estranged
Which show were you at? Shitty...
-
You people and your fuckin estranged.
FUCK There Was A Time

It's a very bold statement to say CD is better than AFD so I won't even go there. However, I will say that I own both albums and I still (3 years after its release) listen to CD way more than AFD. CD holds a special place in my heart and one I consider to be my favorite album (don't confuse that with being "better" than other albums).
-
Axl doesn't seem to like to play songs from the Illusions...
Live and Let Die
Don't Cry
November Rain
KOHD
YCBM
But I know what you mean....
I was at the Toronto show and it was amazing! I'd pay to see that exact same show again.
Same setlist gets boring for the YouTube-watching fan
-
Ron was the only good part of the cover.
-
Coma (obviously) followed by Estranged and then Don't Cry
-
TWAT is one of favs of all time but to say that there isn't a lot going in that track is completely BS. If you listen to the "alternate instruments" version there is soooo much going on (which I love)!
-
ITW
TWAT!!!
MADDY (possibly best acoustic song from CD, maybe SOD as well)
-
CITR
CD
Better
Shaklers
SOD
Bumblefoot is THE MAN!!! I hope he stays with GNR till the end! There are 2 more videos that you should check out.
-
I'd love to hear TWAT done acoustically, just for the sake of interest. It would probably have to be reworked a little though.
When BBF was in South America he played an acoustic version of TWAT outside the hotel.

How pissed would you be if CDII comes out and The General isn't on it???

The main reason I want the dates is to put CD tour behind us and move on to CD2 / new material. I do not expect a release to coincide with the tour but hopefully we get a new song or 2, or at least some UYI gems...
