August 18th
its official
-
Any generous soul generous enough to bless Me with any link
-
It’s says ‘currently not available’ in Argentina
-
Let’s see what happens tomorrow at the show.
also have in mind that is a low percentage of all the gnr fanbase that know about the 8 ball link and a higher percentage (but not huge) of fans that heard the leak (which we weren’t supposed to hear - unless that was the reason the song is being released)
-
GNR, Chinese Democracy, GNR greatest hits now show up when searching for Perhaps in Argentina
-
My only theory (or the only one that makes some actual sense) is that the link will go live tomorrow and the presave is for next Friday
live debut tomorrow - single release aug 18th

The LinkFire link shows Guns N Roses - Perhaps before redirecting to GNR page
-
If it releases at midnight then we’ll be able to hear it Thursday courtesy of our Aussie NZ mates, right?

Those first two albums were brilliant. The drop off after that was like they were written by a different band. First album had the dark mystery, second album had the more mainstream stuff. After that everything sucked hard
Prayers for the damned was really cool

Travis Scott released Utopia on a Wednesday and K-Pop (the first single) on a Monday
-
Maybe they’re still polishing a few things before releasing something for GNR. I’m being very optimistic. We’re one week away from the US tour so who knows…
-
Axl’s performance of Dead Horse in 2021 might’ve been the worst I’ve seen from Axl. Those first post COVID shows were awful
-
Yeah Chinese was a great opener. Lights off, General intro, and the Ashba silhouette was cool. Lots of energy

I don’t recall Hard Skool being soundchecked at every single show. It got a few soundchecks, like Perhaps, and then got debuted in Baltimore after its release.
It’s coming. Either shortly before or shortly after they return to North America, would be my guess.
I actually DO Believe (really) that HardSkool was meant to be released in 2020 but the pandemic delayed it. I don’t think Perhaps and The General will be delayed too much now

I got bored and made a poster for Perhaps. Hey Fernando I’m a bit free these days in case you need a cool artwork instead of a cringey cover using skeletons or the night rain robot

GN'R hasn't been "press-friendly" since the 90s, more or less. The band started being punctual in 2013/2014, or so. So Duff and Slash didn't make any changes here, really.
Yeah I agree. In 2010/2011 Axl still gave two fucks about punctuality
i remember the show in Rosario 2011 where it was show time and Axl was still in Buenos Aires. Not to mention that Buenos Aires 2010 started 2/3 hours late

wasn’t the this I love remix the latest (that we know of) vocals recorded by Axl? It sounds like 2010 Axl to me

Perhaps and the general WILL be released.
problem is when… I mean, we all heard the song and we all know about the general for more than 15 years. Release the damn thing
unless they want to release a documentary of the EU + US tour with the songs. That makes a bit more of sense in delaying the releases (it was mentioned that there was a filming crew in some of the shows + the band posting rehearsals footage and some nice images of the tour)
edit: as I was typing the band just uploaded some more new nice images of the tour (these are clearly shot with a Pro camera, nothing that an iPhone or even a S23 could make)
-
Thursdays a great day to debut perhaps then releasing it at midnight
This would raise ticket sales for US then release the general mid US tour
Then, if this band were normal, they’d release an EP with two live tracks + the two new songs.
they done it with HardSkool, they can do it again

Perhaps, the general, and Atlas Sh suggesting GNR in Argentina
Nothing in Apple Music though

I dont know why Axl insists in singing Locomotive in his falsetto voice. He can easily sing the whole song (except for the bought me an illusion and you can use your illusion parts) with his regular tone. Not his deep Bad obsession voice, it’s more of a higher pitch chest voice without reaching to a falsetto

i agree that RHCP reached its peak +20 years ago but with frusciante back I think we were all expecting something at least memorable or above average.
I love RHCP but both UL and RODC were pretty generic. I think some of the non-hits Stadium Arcadium songs (slow cheetah, strip my mind, she looks to me) are way better than the latest singles (black summer, Eddie, etc).Same will happen with gnr if they release a new record. Everyone will be expecting another November rain and that won’t ever happen again. I’m okay with Chinese leftovers as I think they’re way better than everything Metallica or RCHP or Pearl Jam could release in the future

i think the general built some hype around it because of the title of the song, same as Atlas or Oklahoma
songs with weaker titles like ‘curly shuffle’ of ‘devious bastard’ have less epic titles so we unconsciously think they’re not great epic 8 minute songs

Perhaps - August 18. UPDATE IV: A New Hope (Radio Premiere Tomorrow?)
in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS

Just realized that they stretched a bit more the last ‘you’re all alone…’
also, am I hearing some deep darker background vocals in the last verse of the chorus? Guess well find out in a few more days
