  1. why are tickets so expensive over there? like here you wouldnt pay anything like £70 quid for a general ticket unless it was the stones or someon - or anyone playing at Twickenham stadium. In 2006 I think all in all with the booking fee each ticket was about £40. As long as you get there early or have a good push then youll get to the front. If I was paying £100 for a GNR ticket (which I would only pay for the real / original GNR line up) I'd expect something a lot better than a standard gig at the Manchester M.E.N or Apollo

Ticket prices have gone out of control. The fact that they are seated sucks too. Back when I was going to 6-8 shows a month, it didn't cost anywhere near that price. We also could decide the night of the show to go and be in the front row. I'm so glad it wasn't like this when I was younger.

  2. The only real Sabbath is with Ozzy, Bill, Geezer and Iommi.

I'm not saying that The Dio era was bad, Heaven And Hell is great album, but it's not Sabbath.

I always thought that until I got a free copy of The Dio Years and was so fucking blown away. Just saw Heaven And Hell for the second time in 2 weeks last night! rock3

I honestly don't see how anyone can dislike Dio. Sure, his lyrics aren't the best, but his voice is amazing, even still so at 65, and he's a fucking maniac live. God forbid if Ozzy died tomorrow and Dio became the permanent Sabbath frontman again, I can't say I'd be dissappointed, especially after seeing both lineups live sometime in the last 2 years.

But there's nothing beyond the Dio era thats worth listening to. It all went downhill after The Mob Rules, with the exception of Dehumanizer

Hey - I saw them Sept. 5th. Were you there?

Yep, 12th row on Geezers side! rock3

Cool - I was in the 1st row in section 2 on the same side! They sounded great!

I saw the original BS a LONG time ago. ;)

That was my first time seeing Alice and I enjoyed it more than I expected.

Yea it was a great show, however Darien Lake was miles better than Binghamton!

That's cool. It must have been one hell of a show because they rocked hard in Binghamton.

  5. Yeah, I like some of his songs.

I actually went to his concert many years ago on a whim. I got home and walked in the door and my mother handed me 2 tickets and said "it's tonight - get going". They were my brother's and he was in big trouble to she took them away.

  6. None of them

    Robbie is the answer

    who?

25 years from now, JT will have just been another blip on the radar screen. MJ has been in the music business for nearly 40 years. Even if he never releases another album, no one is going to overtake him as the King of Pop.

I disagree. Timberlake has the potential (not to mention the sheer talent) to be everything that Jacko has ever been, plus he's not a total creep. It's true, right now JT hasn't surpassed MJ, but he's been a solo artist for like 25% of what Jacko has been. Given time, JT can overtake him. It's just a matter of how the business treats him.

I don't think so. I hate his voice.

  7. Glad you had a good time! How old is your little brother?

he's 11 years old and listens to gnr all day long rock3

Awesome. My oldest son is 11 and asked me to take him. I'm not sure. I have taken him to other shows, but his mom goes a little crazy around GNR. :tongue2:

  8. Michael Jackson will always be the king of pop he's the original the rest are just copies, i cant deny that Justin is great dancer and he's very charismatic but meh Mike is brilliant in every way, his legacy in the pop field will always be present.

No one can compare to him, it makes no sense. rock1

Compared to MJ he looks like a fool.

Watch the last few minutes of the 1999 performance in Korea, after Slash went off stage and MJ starts dancing Billie Jean. That is just insane what he does there. Brilliant.

    I agree!

Slash was trying to steal the show.

Nobody can dance like MJ. It's like he floats.

  9. I'm going with Dio. I'm biased because he's from the town I live in and I can remember sneaking in bars to when I was underage to see him in the band "Rainbow". Wow, that was a long time ago! ;) And I can't forget his cousin's band "The Rods". I think many of you would like that band.

  10. The plot thickens!!

    Ed has checked into rehab.

If Dave decides to pull a no-show Monday night, he is indeed a total selfish prick. Come on Dave, gimme a break.

No, the Hall of Fame people are just douchebags. They won't let members of the band perform unless it's all of them. What crap is that? Just let Slash fill in for Eddie and Matt fill in for Alex, let Mikey take bass, and let Sam and Dave take turns singing. Christ, don't steal the glory from the members that are showing up.

Why is that? They let Blondie sing without the other members and they were there!

  11. I don't think he would have been like Axl, either. I heard that Kurt was planning to retire from music and lead a quiet life with Frances.

Hmmm - what if that only lasted, say, 14 years?
