  1. @PappyTron you said " I would class a shooting on a university campus as being just as public as a shooting in a cafe or in a nightclub. Saying that the shooting at Monash is "different" because he "wasn't going room to room" is disingenuous to the facts at hand: that a man went on a shooting spree, in Australia, after the gun ban that Josh Butler was claiming has stopped all such occurrences."

The difference is the gun he had whether legal or illegal wasn't a rapid fire gun mowing down heaps of people sheltering for cover. Due to that he was overpowered by people without guns which is far better than everyone pulling out their guns & shooting everywhere trying to get him.

I don't know man.... I've learned to love Angus through Axl because Angus brought us an Axl we haven't seen in a long long time. So we are thankful for that. At least, I am thankful to Angus for helping Axl shine in ways he didn't even know. Axl singing this true basic rock n roll brought back all that 70's vibe to my heart. It may sound too crazy but I'll say it anyway, when I hear Axl singing "Hell ain't a bad place to be" or "High Voltage" I can't help but hear him channeling Janis through his voice and body. You know, I'm a huge Janis Joplin fan, a psycho one, lol, and I'm convinced she lives in Axl's throat. But it's been a while since Axl channeled a Janis, because he hasn't sung real rock n roll in a long time, so these old ACDC songs are bringing back that lost vibe and that's why I'm so hooked on this AXLDC thing. I get so emotional when I hear those songs, I can hardly take it, I'm going nuts, lol. Well, I'm always over emotional and overwhelmed by the music I love but, ok, I got lost in my own train wreck of thoughts.... What I was trying to say is that, as a GNR fan, I don't care much for the reunion shows and I'd rather have a new album than a tour. I couldn't care less for Slash or Duff back just to play the same old songs. I want them back in the band to MAKE GNR MUSIC. And if Angus goes there first and puts Axl to record anything, I won't ask for his head, all the contrary I'll support it over any GNR boring tour. Just give me that man singing in an album again. It's been too fucking long since Axl released new music and he's been touring with his band for the last 10 years and more. That voice needs to be captured again, put out on a record, I don't care how they release it, just put new music out there, ffs!

    lol sorry

    i am mental :P

I disagree with you only on the fact that I do care for the reunion tour and having Slash and Duff back. Singing the old songs? Well yeah it's going to be strange to hear that again after learning so many AccaDacca songs lately that I didn't know existed. Like you I'm hooked on the AXLDC thing, I can only say that I've heard Axl say he was a fan of Bon Scott like me & maybe that's why he's compared to him in his performance of old songs.

So now my side of the world will be able to watch as much live concert material for a while due to our time zones, in both bands.

New music has certainly got me interested now that I've heard him sing songs I didn't know & I like them, he must get back into the studio & get some records made. Then taunt us like they did with the reunion tour with bits of things being released that made us sit up and ask questions.

You're into Janis Joplin big time, well that surprises me as I've never known anyone who's into her. I don't remember her but of course I do know her & I've watched clips of her & it's so sad that she died so young as she had so much to offer the music industry with that voice. I like her songs & seeing her on video I like her hippy looks, she certainly put out great songs. I won't say what a waste of talent due to her death because what she gave us has left us with great songs.

@rock4eva I would class a shooting on a university campus as being just as public as a shooting in a cafe or in a nightclub. Saying that the shooting at Monash is "different" because he "wasn't going room to room" is disingenuous to the facts at hand: that a man went on a shooting spree, in Australia, after the gun ban that Josh Butler was claiming has stopped all such occurrences. Australia has low gun violence before the ban and it has low gun violence after the ban, but the levels are not markedly different; they were already trending downwards before Port Arthur and the subsequent legislation.

I fully agree that America has a problem with gun violence, especially spree killings, in relation to the rest of the world, but I do not agree that banning certain types of firearms will make an overwhelming difference, as those firearms were readily available long before the explosion in media coverage of these types of shooting sprees. Lots of countries have cultures/groups with just as many firearms as America does (factoring in individual ownership rather than gun total) yet no other country has such constant issues with spree killings (I think that we should discuss just these and not murder rates as a whole) and with gang related killings. So, unless we believe that Americans are somehow different to every other group (which nobody here does) then we have to assume that the underlying issue is to be found elsewhere.

On the subject of whether my firearms would be legal in Australia the answer is no, as they are all AK-74/pump action/semi-automatic pistols, save a few.

Thanks @PappyTron for your answer. I just wanted to say that gun violence wasn't going down prior to Port Arthur. We had Hoddle Street where Julian Knight killed people driving down the road one night, a man went beserk in a Telstra building in Melbourne killing people before plunging out of a window to his death below, Milperra Park bikie gang massacre on Fathers Day, there were lots of mass shootings prior to gun control.

Then if you know anything about Melbourne & the Carl Williams and Moran families you'll see we spent a long time watching these 2 families & friends shooting each other to death until now there only exists one member of 2 families who's in jail where hopefully she stays. Before that we had the Walsh Street killings of the policemen & the family involved in that is another story in itself. All drug related but I think corrupt lawyers & police had a lot to do with this too. Illegal weapons but the general public weren't targeted. Being a crime buff it's all very intruiging to me, but the terrorism is very frightening stuff.

    Thanks again for your explanation.

Well, that is patently a lie. There was a mass shooting at Monash university just a few years later, as well as another in Hectorville, and another in Sydney... That doesn't even mention that since the gun ban the murder rate has remained flat, with it going up in some years and down in others. Then there are armed robberies, the number of which committed each year is no different than before the ban.

Monash University wasn't a public mass shooting, he killed 2 people at his school. He wasn't shooting from room to room killing people like the school shootings in the USA. It was still bad as he had 6 guns no doubt illegal. However he didn't have a pump action shotgun that fired rapidly as they're banned here so he was overpowered by students. If he had a pump action gun it could have been much worse but our laws stopped him owning one.

Hectorville was a family killing of 3 not a public mass shooting. Of course that was shocking but not exactly the same as the nightclub.

I don't know what you mean about Sydney unless you mean the Lindt Cafe siege where a maniac who should never have been on the streets after killing his wife (our justice system stinks) and he made it a terrorist act due to his ISIS flag etc. It wasn't a mass shooting but 2 people did die sadly.

So that's 7 people since 1996 & I do recall a farmer who was depressed due to the farm failing who killed his wife, children & himself.

It's nothing like we see in America, can we recall the mass shootings in USA since 1996? Sandy Hook, Boston, Columbine, Virginia Tech, San Bernadino, Pulse nightclub,Aurora movie theatre (I feel guilty sneaking a sandwich into the movies to eat) yet America wants people to be allowed to take in guns? I've only listed where large numbers have died, if you look at mass shootings where numbers are under 10 I could add heaps more like the Temple, Fort Hood etc. It's way beyond my way of thinking I'm afraid. However it's not a total ban on guns, people are allowed to have guns for sure. I don't know which ones are banned as I couldn't identify one gun from another apart from big or small ;) but it's the pump action, self loading & AK47 type that's been banned. Armed robberies are usually fake guns, baseball bats or knives.

Scroll down these & see if I'm being fair.

    http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2015/06/australia-hasnt-had-a-mass-shooting-since-1996/

    http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/12/mass-shootings-mother-jones-full-data

    ^^^^^^^ only from 1996 onwards^^^^^

If you own a gun why don't you google to see if what you own is legal in Australia? I'd be interested to know if you all did that & find that you might have legal Australian guns as none of you sound like people who would commit such a shocking crime. You seem to have them more for protection so is your crime rate worse than ours?

rock4eva, I heard the ex-wife thing before he sang YSMANL, but I went over to the AXL/DC thread to listen to SDTF and couldn't hear him saying future ex-fe (maybe the video was taped right after he said that).

    :lol::headbang:

The first time I saw that pic on GNR Social Media thread I totally fell in love with it, had to snatch it before someone got their hands on it LOL...

Even at the concert it's really hard to pick up what he says into the mic as it's not clear enough. When he tells a story you can hear it clearly but sometimes he comes out with a few words & everyone's saying "what did he say" & as the music is so loud the person you're asking says "what?"

I went to a concert with a girl from this forum & if she wanted to say something to me she typed it on her phone. Smart move. During one concert he puzzles me as all he says is "they put chocolate in the peanut butter" & between it being on video & not understanding the comment it becomes really confusing. I'd like to hear more stories, I know he elaborates & the more he tells it the bigger it gets but it's great fun interacting with the audience.

The last tour when he had the hematoma & then fell & hurt his shoulder he said on stage that Beta beat him up & when he fell she kicked him. The audience laughed & he complained to one of the band that the audience had laughed and said he thought they were his friends. That was in the UK where there's a video of him signing & photographing with the fans.

It's been already figured out in previous pages that he says "ex-wife".

Yes I can't see there being a next wife, he really needs a woman his own age who doesn't mind being at home, loves his music, loves him, loves horror movies and tv shows, loves animals. Oh hang on........... that's ME!!

  7. 31 minutes ago, cheesecake said:

    I'm confused.

So he mentioned ex-wife twice? Once, the future ex-wife reference, and the other one was ex-wife?

Don't complicate things, :rofl-lol:  I didn't know he said it twice. Now I have to go listen to the other time he said it cos I love listening to his speaking voice.

Actually I'm pretty sure he dedicates a song to me, he says this is for rock4eva. True, well I can hear it anyway but maybe nobody else can.

@cheesecake I love your pic, isn't it great to see them together again and actually happy about it?

    A dedication to Erin at 0:19? :P

Now we'll get to my ex or next wife. I think it's ex but I've blasted my eardrum trying to listen but he certainly says "now we'll get to my" first. Damm you Axl come on here & tell us. Or someone at the concert. Or Erin. SOMEBODY:wow:

Had to listen again, pretty sure it's ex. I've put the question on youtube for the uploader too. Waking up & finding some of these gifs has sent my brain into meltdown & I probably haven't seen them all. I blame you all for this, I'll be blushing all day.

Why do you post a video of a show in Brazil?

The "fat" Axl pic is from a show in Canada.

I didn't know that. I went by the clothes and thought it was the same concert .

  10. That's exactly what happened to Axl according to Tom Zutaut. After he told that horrifying story about Axl's step-dad raping him in the air force museum, he said Axl told him "My mom wouldn't believe me, and I used to get beaten for making up lies."

OMG is there a link to this as I've not heard of this. Yet he still forgave his step dad years later but then seemed to have nothing to do with him. Is he still even alive?

Amy made mention of sexual abuse but Stuart hasn't said anything even though all 3 were supposedly abused. Don't know if they were all beaten but I also wonder if Axl was the target as he wasn't the biological son. Axl mentioned in a written interview about having to make amends with siblings in adult life so goodness knows what happened in that house he grew up in. Sounds like a horror story, no wonder he was so screwed up in the early days.

This is very true I think. Despite Axl doing great with AC/DC and GnR recently, he has an absolutely terrible reputation with the general public. People love to hate Axl and think of him as an asshole, many without even knowing why they think that. They just know that that's what he "is", because that's the image of him they've absorbed from the media and popular culture.

Slash by contrast is everyone and their grandmother's favorite guitar hero. And to his credit, he's worked hard over the years to establish a reputation as a nice, respectable and professional guy. He's a real media darling.

So yeah, people have no interest in tearing Slash down, because he's well-liked and respected by nearly everyone. But Axl is an easy target and people don't feel too guilty about being nasty to him. He's an insane megalomaniac and an asshole and the guy who ruined the band after all.

Unfortunately, Axl is also the guy who's the most sensitive about this kind of thing among them. People know it's easy to get a rise out of him which makes it even more fun for them. Slash and Duff most likely would just shrug something like that off, but I'm sure it gets to Axl a lot. I feel bad for him because he's probably pretty hurt by the whole thing.

Urgh, what a stupid situation and what a sad post. Here's a cute picture of Axl saying hello to a child in the audience to make up for it:

    http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j414/anoncurappu/Axl/sgri1i.jpg~original

@Lumikki would you believe when this photo first came out there was post after post about Axl being a paedophile????? I was so shocked and then :anger: I logged off & refused to read any more. On the video he is seen on stage pointing this little tot out to DJ and then he does a little dance for him or her. This was at the end of the song, I think it's a beautiful photo.

Ive known for years that picture was touched to make him look fat.

Mitch Lafon showed me the pictures he took on the same show and he doesn't look at all like in that picture.

I hope the person who did that gets some really bad disease in return for being such a fucking asshole, destroyer of lives.

Isn't there video of the same show or close to it? Ellen Jabour is translating for him while he tells the audience about not throwing things, yeah a bit weighty but so what. More to hug I say.

What!! Do people actually think Axl has had cheek bone implants? He's always had those girly cheek bones.

Little Axl is cute, in an impish way.

    Black eye pic too :-(

I've always wondered about that & where he got it from. He looks younger than the pic states though.  I'd love to see actual baby photos but back in our day we had blurred box camera b&w photos so there's probably not going to be any worth putting up.

Every single time her story is a bit different and this time there's more bits added to it. Therefore, I think she is full of shit! Remember when she went round all the forums saying how much she loved axl and how slash had treated him so unjustly all whilst plugging her own band. I think she got run out of here...banned

I'm still getting over the 2hs of sex with Axl.

I didn't realise it was a malfunction. Thought it was supposed to be like that  but in the above video he seems to notice and tries to fix it.

What a shame the zip opened like that..  NOT

Ohh of course you're seeing guns not ACDC.... I'm thinking AccaDacca but of course Frank doesn't play drums for them. I should have gotten more sleep last night, what a nice hubby he is.

if you happen to get a renewed one by then i'm serious. hubby says he'll drive me but won't go to the concert, he'd just wait outside. but I can't find a single ticket I need someone to buy the other ticket. we could put you up here i'm sure ( almost sure ) the guest room will be ready by then! :D

Thank you, I would love to. I'd have to sell the house though to afford it but geez I'd love to travel around to their shows. I was only complaining yesterday that August is coming too quickly & soon Christmas & then realised that GNR might be here in January which gives me a high & lots of worrying about getting tickets etc. I'll go to 2 shows if they come here as long as they play Melb and Brisbane. Wish I had the energy of a 20 something again. :P

Wait, hubby will wait outside??? Is that your choice or his? :o He doesn't have a crush on Axl, how can that be? You'll be mad if he meets Axl outside while you're inside listening to a drum solo by Frank. :rofl-lol:

$$$ actually if they place ads on videos the more views the more money they make,,, or promotion of another site or link etc.  It's ridiculous.  Then internet news outlets like Blabbermouth (and I use that term loosly) publish them.. Watch the Manchester show here, and it is actually just the Prague show titled under the Manchester show.  Blabbermouth has all the wrong videos and setlist for the Manchester show on their site right now... just lazy second rate internet journalisim.

I still get teary listening to the second one which was the B side, I just love it to bits.

To cheer @AxlsFavoriteRose and @MillionsOfSpiders up this was a moment on Countdown we'll never forget over here. Apparently none of the band knew he was going to come out dressed like this which accounts for them all laughing at the beginning.

I have to admit after the night out with GNR & being on such a high, I was close to tears & weepy for a few days. I think your adrenalin is so high & suddenly you go home to 'normal' & it's like a dream that's over. It will pass but it sounds silly to say it's a kind of grieving, like you saying you probably won't see him with ACDC again. I totally get you. :shrugs:
