I was at the 2002 show. Strange night. I remember Mix Master Mike started playing full songs after a while. They didnt move anyone down so there were tons of empty seats all over the Mellon Arena. I think it was snowing too.
Yeah it was snowing like crazy when we left

They stopped selling upper deck as of Tuesday or Wednesday. There are resale ones available, but it looks like they're just closing the upper deck all together by the looks of things...especially since once they stopped selling the upper deck, they deleted lots of rows on the floors and lower bowl..probably to move people down.
Yeah even with the top closed off I don’t think they will fill up the field. There’s still tons of tix left. I think PNC holds around 35k. I’m guessing 15-20k and I think that’s being generous. Regardless, I’m looking to have a good time no matter how many are there. Pittsburgh is a tough one. In 02’ the Mellon arena was only half full and in 16’ Heinz was closed off on the upper deck. Both shows were some of the better shows of they’re respective tours. I guess Pittsburgers would rather go to Kenny Chesney concerts lol

fuck dude. I'm sorry.
Axl left as soon as paradise city was over.
how do i know that?
i was outside the venue, corner by those double doors, saw vanessa in a black car
turn around i see Axl half sprinting. i just extended my hand , he shook it for 2 seconds. and then gone.
Haha well at least you got a handshake out of it. Maybe Axl had to run and find a bathroom…..I remember him saying he had montezuma’s revenge lol. That was a long night, but makes for a cool story now. That was a fun show. I remember feeling amongst the die hard fans at the Hammerstein show, but definitely felt like a die hard at the bowl. Wasn’t it only like 400 capacity?

Same. Staking out the hotel is difficult and time consuming. So much luck to hit when they are entering and exiting. I'm a big fan, but not a CRAZY. I'll probably stick to the garage approach.
Just got the email from PNC. Doesn't look like I can bring a tube in for my (if I can get one) litho.
That’s a bummer! Last year for Motley Crue at PNC, they gave you a tube with every poster. Maybe GNR will do the same? At the louder than life festival a few years ago, guns did that, but that’s the only time I’ve ever seen them. Granted, since then, every show I’ve gone to has been out of lithos thanks to the a-holes who are making $ off them. I wish they had a limit on them .

I haven’t seen that but it may be at the stadium which is across the river from their hotel. I was just working downtown and saw a tour bus.
Del came out with his wife from the hotel. I can’t attach pics but it seems that is where they are staying.
Would love to get autographs somehow
That would be awesome! Good luck! I once waited outside a venue once (The Brooklyn Bowl) until 7am in the rain to meet Axl. I was standing by his tour bus, my thought was he had to come out sometime and I’d be there. I saw Del, Dizzy, and Fernando, all were actually pretty cool, but none said anything about Axl other than they thought he already left. I figured of course they would say that, to get me to leave. So I stood on the public sidewalk until about 7am and then the bus started up and pulled out lol. It was a long drive back to Maryland, that’s for sure!

Pretty sure I just saw Del James outside of the fairmount hotel downtown….
Since you’re in the pittsburgh area, have you seen the merch truck? I’m hoping to get a litho and shirt before the eBay crowd snatches them all

Has any one noticed if the merch truck outside the stadiums opens earlier in the afternoon on the day of show? Going to STL show in a couple wks & hope to get my merch earlier in the day.
Good question. I’d like to know what time to arrive to be able to get a litho and a shirt that is my size. I showed up at 5:30 In Hershey and was too late for both

Yeah, to be expected everyone wants a cut. You bet it would make mme feel better. 85 vs 60 is a couple of beers.
Unfortunately, that’s only 1.3 beers at PNC

Looks like a storm around 4/6pm doesn’t seem like a washout and show will happen. Hoping for another solid show like Hershey! Also, taking train most likely. Hope to see some fellow gunners!
Take the nightrain!

Does anyone know what the deal is with the North American tour litho? They are on eBay and numbered out of 1000. I was at the Hershey show, but didn’t see any. Are they selling 1000 at each show, only selling at select shows, or selling 1000 total for the entire tour?

I was there seeing my first Guns concert since 2007. I feel so lucky because in my opinion they killed it. You can tell that Axl is learning to use the voice he has now in new ways. On the low end he's getting incredible drive, and he's able to add rasp in lots of places. There weren't any parts that I thought he sounded like Mickey. In general it seemed like he really enjoys being a showman. Melissa's contribution is subtle but in my opinion it adds a lot. Another cool part was the piano chords that Dizzy played before the solos in Rocket Queen. They helped me to hear the solos in a new way. I appreciate what this band is doing for music. I'm debating going to see them again on Friday in Pittsburgh because I'll be in the area.
Do you, you won’t be disappointed! Tix are very reasonable!

Do you know if they have merch stands outside? I want to get a Litho, but have concerns about carrying it around inside the venue, unless they let me bring a tube in.
I’m not sure, I didn’t see anything outside At Hershey, but someone said there was. By the time I got inside they were all long gone. I’ve never had a venue not allow me to bring in a tube, but PNC is pretty strict. Last year for Motley Crue, the tubes came with the poster

I would argue that GNR has become tied just as much to November Rain as they are AFD. I mean the music video has over 2 billion views on YouTube and is still to this day one of the most talked about music videos of all time. And I think many people see it as Axl's magnum opus.

The tix for this one are crazy cheap. I think this show will be humbling for them. Last stop in Pittsburgh was 2016 at Heinz Field, they had roughly 38k there, so the upper deck was closed off. This show should’ve really been at the star lake pavilion or PPG arena. It still looks like it’s less than half sold, upper deck has the $18 4-pack offer. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t start giving tickets away to the Pittsburgh pirates season ticket holders to try and fill up some seats. If it doesn’t sell , do they close of the upper deck at a baseball stadium?
TBH, I’m glad this show isn’t selling well because hopefully I can get a shirt and poster without having to wait over an hour, and be able to get a few beers without missing half of the show. Last year I saw Motley Crue and Metallica in that stadium. I liked the stadium, sound was decent, easy enough to get in and out, but the lines were ridiculous for everything. -

Perfect examples. I wholeheartedly agree with both of these.
But neither have had the massive success GNR has. At a time GNR was the biggest band on the planet

Damn just heard "Anything Goes" GNR rocked it. Never thought they would ever play that song. Awesome. Axl sounded amazing.
Love that he's got his red hair back. lol The band was awesome. Wish they would play Dallas again. Houston and San Antonio are too far to drive during the week.
If it’s too far to drive, fly! Work will always be there, GNR won’t

Anyone interested in grabbing me a litho at the show? I could meet you after the show and pay you or you could send it to me (Maryland) and I’ll pay for yours as well? I’m coming, but won’t arrive until 7ish, so I highly doubt they will be available at that time
-
Any guesses on the litho this time? 17’ was pretty weak with the chocolate bar and 21’ was decent, it’s blacklight reactive and is themed one of the Hershey park rides, not sure which one.

That's the day of the Hershey concert. I wonder if they will play it before then?
Maybe we’ll get the debut that night? Glad I finally decided to grab tix the other night. BTW, the prices have dropped some the last few days, I scored front row on the floor, for a little over $300. There were still about 15 left in the front row of anyone is thinking about going.

Gotta say, awesome show! I think better than Hershey last week! I’ve had amazing luck with GNR lately, getting to see the debut of hardskool in Baltimore a few years ago and then perhaps tonight. Only negative for me was that they started a bit later and didn’t have time for a few. Still haven’t seen pretty tied up, but there’s always next time.
