  1. I heard that during 2021 many bands pyro technicians bailed for greener pastures because of the time off during covid. I think lack of workers is also why RHCP postponed their tour last year. Many of these guys had to leave their professions in order to put food on the table. It makes sense to me, as well as what someone said earlier about minimizing the crew. I don’t buy that it’s for saving money. I mean even when Axl was touring with new GNR, they still had pyro where it was allowed and confetti during paradise city.

  2. Who advises Axl on his wardrobe and overall style throughout the different era’s? If he does it on his own, what’s his reason for significantly changing his look/style every couple of years? To me it’s like

    80’s Leather and bandanna

early 90’s bike shorts/kilt and bandana

    late 90’s who knows?

early 00’s long cornrows and jerseys

late 00’s tied back cornrows and Versace. Never wore a bandana during this time...I don’t think

2009-2010 hybrid Versace and classic Axl

2011-2014 Yosemite Sam mustache and fedoras

2016- current aging rock star pointed toe snakeskin boots, mixture of hats and bandanas

I know most people evolve over time, but the way he changes his style is interesting to me

What happened between December '10 and October '11?

What happened between December '02 and May '06?

What the hell was going on in GNR world in November '08?

How pissed was the record company at Axl?

What exactly happened on December 6th, 2002 - the night of the Philly riot. I know he explained it and I believe him, but I still want to know more (I was there).

When will Axl write his autobiography and answer all of these questions?

What would have happened if Axl went solo with that band instead of using the name? How would things be different?

All good questions I’ve often wondered as well

I voted the most recent because if axl isn't on form it's not a good show. At least in 2012-14 the could sing with confidence (most nights) on RQ, Jungle, YCBM etc

If you close your eyes and just listen, I agree with you, but with the overall show experience, I think Axl really tried his best on this last tour....well at least once it got going. Hershey 21’ is the weakest ive ever seen him. But by the time they did Atlantic City and Baltimore, he seemed like a different person. Not the best vocals, but I think he left it all on the stage. Baltimore was damn near 3.5 hours long.

  4. I prefer GNR, but as amazing as I think Axl’s vocals are, it sounds to me like his voice changed since UYI and the TSI. At the end when he’s really screaming and swinging for the fences, something just sounds weaker to me. Similar to how he sounds at the end of sweet child 99’. Still powerful, but somewhat weaker. Hard to pinpoint what I mean, but it just sounds to me like that was less about “the sound of the band breaking up” and more about the beginning of all the different Axl’s voice threads we’ve had over the years

axl always wear what he wants and the square people even now is talking about what he wear, what a bunch of bullshit

"We wanna dedicate this song to the people that try to hold you back, the people that tell you how to live, people that tell you how to dress, people that tell you how to talk, people that tell you what you can say and what you can’t say," he says. "I personally don’t need that, I don’t need that s--- in my life. Those are the kind of people that have been getting me down. They make me feel like somebody, somebody out there is out to get me!”

I love the performance of this song! It’s the one song I would show someone to introduce them to GNR. It’s so raw and energetic. Everything guns was about back then

When and where did this happen?

87’ or 88’. Probably 87’ because I think all the guys in the Crue were in rehab during 88’ at the cathouse club in LA. They did while latte Rosie and I think one other song. This was before the 89’ VMA’s. Back when they were friends. GNR opened for Crue on the girls girls girls tour for a few months.

    Madagascar, again.

No way is it one of the top 3 songs on the album.

Maybe Maddy staying so long has something to do with the nostalgia a lot of us may have from it being the first New GNR song we got to hear/see at the 02’ VMA’s . It was actually a good performance of the song. Jungle and PC, not so much.

he could make a legendary intro for sweet child o mine and decide that the end of the song is going to be a crazy epic thing like wtf , reminds me when he does that high pitch rasp in nightrain oasaka 2009 SUCH EPIC MOMENT like those were common in axl 80s 90s

The nightrain from Oasaka was insane! One of his best. He pushed his voice to the redline for sure!

He was hungry for success and recognition. That also happened in 2006 till 2010 when he was about to release Chinese Democracy. He had something to prove and performances were amazing. Also happened with acdc shows.. amazing vocals and performances.

What could spark the hunger again?

ACDC asking him to come back and or a new full GNR album. If the songs actually got any radio exposure, I feel like it would motivate him to up his live performance. I thought that on the last tour, he really gave a lot of effort. He got better as the tour progressed, but not to the levels we’ve seen before. At 60, maybe it’s unrealistic to think he’ll ever get back to any of those previous Axl levels. But I remember thinking he was done at the 02’ vma’s only to get my mind blown when I saw them in Pittsburgh a few months later. I thought it was over after the 06-07’ tour, amd he came back with a vengeance in 2010. Then rio 2011 seemed like tjat was going to be it, game over. But he pulled off a decent US tour that fall and an up and down up close and personal tour. Then a few Sporadic festivals and then the vegas residency seemed like the final nail in the coffin. Then in 2016, he was back for both Guns and ACDC. Both shows were great, and he sounded the best he did since 06-10. So, even though it’s seems highly unlikely that he’ll be able to get back to beast mode at 60, over the last 20 years I’ve learned to never count him out. Because that’s when he pulls a 2 minute drill Tom Brady performance and blows our minds. Well at least mine and Sebastian Bach’s lol.
