  1. Well, each to their own. If I were going to be a fan because of people's looks, I'd go follow a boy band.

Rock n roll is a lot to do with image... especially the hard rock bands that are popular. I might love the music Leslie West makes... but certainly wont be hanging his poster up my wall. Boy bands are pop bands who are cliche and their music sucks.

Its good to see bands that look good and sound great. I know its all about music... but cmon.

You're a fucking idiot if you'd rather see fit Axl sounding like shit (Mickey Mouse as you put it) than see fat Axl sounding good.

Preferably, he'd both look good and sound good, but there's no question which is more important.

I actually sort of hope Axl doesn't lose any weight but sounds fucking amazing, just to shut up those who think weight and voice can't be mutually exclusive.

    Awwww, missed you P5. <3

  2. Its not that easy when you got blocked 10 years ago, because you supported oldgnr. Its funny how this forum changed on the oldgnr agenda in the last 2 years. Jarmos board was of course even more strict about oldgnr...but thats still no exuse.

I know this is not the place to talk about this, but before the forum was under the ownership of another person, now there is another owner and a new team and most of them are really nice ;)
You think I'm really nice? :)
"Most" of them are really nice. One of them's a hooray for tolerance!!
I just want to point out that, due to this board, calling someone a "hooray for tolerance" is my favorite curse word. And it doesn't get me fired if I use it at work. LOL

Am I the only one who thinks that doing a stadium tour in NA with prices aroud 250 dollars is a bad idea to start with??? Would the buzz be that big that they will sell out these stadiums??? I always thought they start in SA or europe where they would sell out stadiums much easier

Tickets are rumored to TOP OUT at $250.

Just to make it clear to all of us who aren't familiar with the term - does this mean that the highest prices of tickets would be $250 or am I getting this wrong? :)

Yes. The most expensive ahould be $250-275. :)

  3. I honestly dgaf how they look. I want to know how they sound. Sure, Axl has put on some weight. But Slash is far from the whipcord waist he was when he was sporting his leather pants back in the day. He is probably twice the waist size he was then. And, Lord knows I love me some Duff. And he is looks smoking from the neck down. But his face looks 70 years old. So, none of these guys are the spring chickens they used to be. Hell, can't we all be happy they're all alive and able to play?! That they didn't go to the grave without giving it a last go? They could all come out wearing tie-dyed yoga pants and I wouldn't care, as long as they sound good. Fuck it. I hope Axl rocks his kilt. Own that shit. He has always been unapologetic and that is part of what I like.

But Slash and Duff could still play at 300lbs as long as their fingers didn't get too chubby for the strings. Lead singers don't have that luxury unfortunately.
As a singer, I call bullshit. I am bigger than I was pre-babies. My voice has 9nly improved. Not because of my weight obviously, but just because I didn't destroy it. Also - Sebastian Bach gained weight and sound unfuckingbelievable on Broadway. MeatLoaf. Aretha Franklin. Pavarotti. And someone who took mad bullshit for her weight, Ann Wilson. That woman only gets better with age. She gained at least 100 lbs from her debut and still annihilated every single song. In fact, on The Road Home acoustic album, she sounds better than she ever did, having developed an incredible rasp. So. Fuck weight. Can he run around in stage like a coked out chicken? Nope. But most 50 year old men don't. In fact, most frontmen didn't. It is just because we expected it of Axl...because we are now spoiled, entitled masses.

  5. 25 football stadiums in the US?? Holy shit.

Holy shit is right! Looks like the most expensive seats will be around $250 bucks. That's Stones money.

Top Stones tickets were way more than that. There'll be seats that are affordable as well just like any stadium show.
I didn't think it was bad. Top Motley Crue tix here last summer were $450. VIP was $1200.
  6. Let's face it....Mickey or no Mickey, Axl lacks charisma when he isn't running around or energetic. He is boring when he just stands there. Watch any show from the 90s and he was a maniac. If there is a reunion, he will need to bring some energy back to the live shows. If he doesn't, it will be 2011 on again.....oh and give us some rants too

You must be joking. Axl is brutally charismatic. Check this shit out:

This, kids, is what happens when you do too much coke.

I was going to say "a stroke" but you know, coke too.
  7. I am a fan of his writing style but his lyrics seemed so much better and so much more authentic when he wrote from the heart instead of writing...I dunno....for a specific purpose, I guess? It seems to me that the songs on CD were written and rewritten and rewritten again trying to perfect a certain goal he had. A few seem very forced, for lack of a better term. I don't like the lyrics of TIL, but the melody is beautiful and the chorus....oooooh the chorus. The chorus, with that raw, painful sound to it just kicks me right in the feels. But he wrote that waaaay back during UYI and the emotion shows. AFD was angry and unapologetic and raw. It was awesome. Lies was stripped and brilliant. UYI, he grew as a lyricist but was still had that edge. He had, however, opened up and allowed the wounded part of him to show. The result was incredible. I feel like CD, as a whole, sounded desperate. The overthinking of everything is very obvious to me. It became a maelstrom of desperation. Just my opinion.

  8. Reading comments on the articles popping up on Facebook there's a lot of negative people out there who have no interest in seeing them reunite.

Crazy people. I was 3 when they played their last show. I'd kill just to experience those guys on the same stage. Hell, I'd be happy seeing Axl Slash and Duff and whoever the fuck else.

Same here. I was 12 when they last performed together. And I would probably sell important body parts to see a reunion, even if it is just Axl, Slash, and Duff.

    No Izzy? No thanks.
Izzy is great but doesn't like the limelight. Fortus is a more than capable stand-in.
  9. Hm. Wasn't aware that Vicki and Slash were bffs. I get the impression she is one of those people who loves to throw out who she knows so everyone is impressed. She kind of tossed it out there like she and Slash just sit and text like buddies and that he just told her. Not the news outlets or the rest of the world or even in the time he spent texting her, he could have tweeted "Reunion is not happening" and been done with it. Nope. Just her. The Chosen One. *eyeroll*

  10. I think everybody would prefer Izzy but Fortus is a cool cat who can absolutely fill those shoes. And Izzy is kind of infamous for his need to not be tied down so it would be more of a surprise if he actually agreed to do a reunion. But Frank? Really? I mean, I'm sure he's a great guy and all but you have two drummers who would probably both be happy to do a reunion, hell, they would probably even share like they did at the HoF induction. And that would be awesome.

  11. And another thing.....if they do do this crap, I am gonna buy one ticket and get on the barrier and hold up a massive fucking sign saying PLEASE PLAY: TWAT, PROSTITUTE, MADAGASCAR, SORRY, ATLAS, GENERAL....

That'll sure show him. And the rest of us fans who aren't nearly as big a fan as you are. I'll be happy to see my favorite band and if we are so lucky, see NightTrain and Locomotive live.
