  1. Simple minds, eh? I suppose you have several degrees, a lucrative career, and a new album due out any time now?

    Strawman much?

No, but I have bachelor of arts in music and besides that I'm smart enough to know a better guitar player when I hear one.

I may not have an album coming out, but I know way more licks than Slash. That's why I find it amazing that so many people call this HACK a guitar god. I hear guys better than him playing at bars all the time.

So, those of us with differing opinions are simple? You tear down Slash based on nothing but your almighty opinion and declare those of us who prefer Slash as 'simple minds'?

  2. Slash. Hands down.

Bucket is talented, no doubt, but his soulless, super shredding psychobabble is more suited to a solo thing like Joe Stump.

Slash has that bluesy, brilliantly melodic sound that is untouchable. It is far more suited to Axl's writing style. I also think that Axl's voice would benefit from songwriting with Slash again. It seems that Axl writes all these melodies on the piano for himself and the guitarists to play but when other people seemingly add random, although cool-sounding riffs, it becomes disjointed. Most of CD sounds to me like a bunch of people who have never worked together before and who have no idea what common vision they had, got together and just threw some songs together. It's not cohesive and has none of the heart and soul that prior albums did. There is emotion to Slash's playing that is poorly lacking in Bucket's superb annihilation of his guitar.

The one that helped create some of the greatest albums ever released instead of the dumbass in a bucket that didn't do very much to help make a good record, for sure.

CD is one of the greatest albums ever released.

AFD is a PALE comparison to it.

I haven't listened to AFD or IYI in around 10 years, but I listen to CD at least once a week.

Lol @ people who think that it's quality just because it was a hit. I would take 30 seconds of BH's random soloing over the entire catalog of Slash.

The guy who helped write AFD,Lies, and the Illusions.

    Izzy?

Slash couldn't write a song to save his life. You may get a passable string of notes put together in succession, but I'm surprised the guy even knows how to tune his guitar.

If he didn't have his stupid fucking hair and hat nobody would have cared about him. He would have just been Axl's guitar player on his first album.

    GTFO.
  3. Fuckin hell girl, thats your back garden? On a soldiers salary, fuck me, if i was in America I'd join the fuckin army, you should see where our squaddies end up living

He's a sailor and a Chief (E-7), so after almost 14 years, I wouldn't say we're well-to-do but we're comfortable. And I've always worked too so that helps. If there is ever a gig nearby, party at my house! All ya'll are invited. Also, with regard to what Totts said, we moved to Virginia from Connecticut. New England is expensive compared to here in the south. We would have paid twice as much in CT for what we bought here in VA. The hubs also has another house down here that he rents out. The extra income helps.

Amazing.. a huge beautiful yard by a lake! If you don't mind me asking do you pay that with one persons (your husbands) salary only?! Or do you work as well? Impressive either way and I'm glad for you!

The mortgage is very close to what we paid in rent in New England. Yes, I do work, but he pays the mortgage.

  4. Aged Gouda is amazing. When I was in New England, I used to get 5 year old Gouda from this artisan cheese place. I can't find it down here but the three year I found is pretty good too. It would pair well with wine. It has a nutty, caramel flavor.

  5. Just came across this on YouTube and thought it was worth sharing. If we could get this guy to do a Milli Vanilli thing with Axl...ya know, stand off stage and have Axl lip synch.......it isn't perfect but it's a damn sight more rasp than I've heard outta our guy in a while.

  6. AS you can see, the white fence looks lovely.

Looks awesome, if you didn't say white fence, it almost looked like the fence colors blended in with the background, looked like a lake or a pond of to the right. Beautiful.

Thank you. Yes, it's a lake. The fence doesn't curve around the back of the property, it just goes straight to the water. It does blend in well.

Can i come round yours please? I'll bring some skunk?

Anytime. Bring your fishing pole! LOL

  9. You have a very relaxing looking back yard. Reminds me of the Estranged video.

Thanks! The backyard was what sold us. We were living in CT and knew he would be getting orders to VA. We came down house-shopping for a week and I found what I thought was my dream house. Then it didn't pass inspection. So, we were back in CT, unable to make another trip down to look at houses again, needing to find and close on a house in 6 weeks and this one came up as a new listing. We sent our realtor (who, after looking at almost 40 houses with us, knew exactly what I wanted) and he came over with a video camera and we put an offer in for full price. It was only on the market two days. So, we basically bought this house without ever seeing it in person. But the backyard....yup. It was "it". THe inside of the house is nice too but the kitchen isn't as big as I'd like. Nothing like sitting on the dock out back, fishing in the lake, and listening to the live concerts over at the amphitheater, which is walking distance from here. Tonight, we sat out back with a couple of drinks and fished and listened to the Lunatic Luau - a metal show like a small scale OzzFest. Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, Five Finger Death Punch, As I Lay Dying, Saliva, Volbeat, a couple other bands.

  10. I bet he was a different person now than in 97/99. If you are up for the penalty, they should do it within a year or two. People change as they grow older. Maybe he never did, but i bet a lot of the people that died 'were different people' than when they commited their crime 15 years earlier.

Anyone who can commit such a heinous crime against an infant has something irreparably wrong with them. It doesn't matter if he's 19 or 59, criminals of this type will never change. You cannot "fix" a pedophile. They don't grow out of it. It's not like deciding you don't like tennis as much as you used to.

  11. You're right. He should have been given a bullet to the head long ago. Seriously. One shoots a young lady and watches her be buried alive. The other RAPES and KILLS a baby. Let me repeat: RAPES and KILLS a baby. Just wrap your head around that...........

And I'm supposed to feel sorry for his pain? HIS pain?! Fuck. That. The only thing I disagree with is that these complete wastes of space sat in prison with three hots and a cot while we have homeless and hungry veterans out there. Bullets are cheap and if done correctly, painless and instantaneous.
