Does anyone know if the band is using the merch truck outside the venues for this leg? I’ve seen 2 other NITLT shows and have missed out on the town specific shirts and Litho’s. Jax is my hometown so I really want a shirt

coming down from NJ, any great dive bars around the arena? staying at the hyatt riverfront
They’re a few bars down bay street which is on the way to the arena. And there is Intuition Right outside the arena which is a good craft beer bar. That also has a rooftop bar.

I listened to some of the videos. TIL was really not good.
As for practicing. Gilby was on Eddie Trunk last week and he said he saw ALL the guys in GnR at the rehearsal place. Even mentioned Axl.

So BBF is essentially out of GNR yet he's playing with a GNR cover band? Guy complains about not being about to do solo tours because of GNR yet he plays with a GNR cover band, doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
BBF is a musician who enjoys playing music. The dude just did an event where he sat on a stool and talked to the crowd, answered questions from the audience. Then he JAMMED with complete unknown bands. Can you imagine Axl doing that?
BBF wanted to create music WITH Axl and the rest of GnR. He put in 8 years with the band and never got to do that. That's QUITE different than the scenario you are presenting.
No offense, but your statement doesn't he really make sense. It's literally like comparing apples and oranges. You've somehow compared two things that have nothing to do with each other.
Ron would still be in GnR today if the band had released a couple albums during his tenure, he'd gotten a chance to write with Axl, and if they varied their set-list up during the tours. That's a pretty different scenario than what you are trying to paint. Imo.
I don't think its apples to oranges because Ron has been trying to distance himself from GRN, so by playing with a cover band that seems very counterproductive is all I'm saying. He's been complaining that he didn't have time to do "his" stuff and when he does have that time he plays covers? and yes I know a few songs of his own, which he got to do on tour with the REAL GNR.
To address whether BBF could still be in GNR had all those things happened that you mentioned... Axl had a lot of music already recorded prior to BBF, right? Maybe Axl didn't like BBF's music he submitted? Hasn't BBF mentioned in the past that he's put parts down on some unreleased songs? So basically because Axl/ GNR didn't sit down and write full songs with BBF, he's not longer in the band? He knew what he was getting into when he joined

And these are guys he considers friends, he just wants to go out and have some fun playing with these guys. Are you seriously suggesting he can't do this because they happen to be a GNR tribute band?
of course Im not suggesting he can't preform with Guns 2 Roses. I just find it odd that BBF has made negative comments about his time in GNR and has tried to make a point that he had a career before GNR, and distance himself from GNR but he goes out and plays with a cover band... just seems counterproductive if you ask me

Danzig shirt is too short and Axl shirts are too long. Axl would look better live if he just wore better fitting cloths

This is a serious question...
In 2006 I saw Axl with a beer here and there but no Alcohol puff. When 2009 and 2010 started I saw a puffy Axl, but as the tour went down the puff decreased maybe because he drank less to save his voice.
But from 2011 on, he's remained mostly puffy with no rasp.
I remember he told Lisa Marie after Philly, no I can't have a drink with you, I have to protect my voice....
Could it be that Axl enjoys the bottle so much now a days that he does so at direct expense of his vocals?
I'm not flaming or trolling, but I'm actually thinking there might be some relation.
Lisa Marie was at the Orlando HOB show. I read afterwards they partied until late morning. Show ended around 3:30 AM

I'm at a wait and see how his voice his and shape he is in. I live in fl so west coast travel is tough with work and family.
Although no matter what I'm seriously considering going to the award show in LA

Honestly, I'd put Gov Ball in my top 3 It was the best I'd heard Axl since Hamilton 2010, it was a short, to the point show, and they managed to win over a crowd that seemed ready to hate them.Gov Ball NYC. Decent show but definetly the worse show I've seen of GnR. Axl was def out of shape and his voice was not great. The crowd loved it though. Even my son said Axl isn't really fat but he's fatter than Orlando 2011. Which I agreed with.
Show started early though but was a shortened version of a Norman GnR show. No estranged or patience. Was kind of bummed they played the Seeker but not patience in the encore.
I agree did a great job winning over a crowd that wasn't a typical GnR crowd. I honestly thought VIP would then out after a few songs but it was full to the end.
Axl sounded fine but I guess since I've seen them several times I could hear it when the rasp wasn't there. I do feel he was in the worse shape physically since 2009. It wasn't a bad show just my least-favorite
-
i voted Mickey but am really hoping for rasp... I just don't have any confidence Axl will be in shape physically or vocally. Im taking the attending Vegas as a wait and see at this point, if he comes out in shape ready to go. ill book my tickets and room, if its like 2013 ill stay home unless they come to FL

I know it's been said a million times but I just wonder why he completely disappears from public sight for such long periods. You would think in a year he'd be photographed somewhere once. I know he mentioned before he doesn't go to high profile places but you would think that a pap would be waiting near his house or follow him when he leaves? Or is Axl not considered a big celeb anymore that paps wait for? I just mentioned it coz it said on E news that paps wait outside Britney Spears or Bieber's house. He takes being a recluse to a another level. It's part of why there's so many misconceptions about him coz he never is out there regularly but then again he prob doesn't care.
Paps do not wait outside Axl house in Malibu. I'm not even sure they do for Britney now that she seems to be stable. Beibs on the other hand is a train wreck and he's probably followed everywhere.

Clear channel did make a statement advising the tour had been cancelled. Seriously why do u think it was cancelled? 2 riots in the first month of the tour due to no shows. The liability was too much to continue. I too had tix to see GnR in tampA which was right around my birthday. I was very disappointed as well.
-
For some reason I can read the original question but from the responses it looks like the question is regarding the cancelled 2002 tour.
I have a close friend that worked for clear channel and was in Philly in 2002. He told me clear channel jumped at promoting the tour because they didn't want a competitor to get it. Then with the poor ticket sales in smaller markets and 2 no shows the liability became too much and they
Cancelled the tour. He said in his opinion management might have been willing to keep things going but it was obvious there were issues with Axl and the ticket sales made it not worth contouring.

1987-1991 by far. No comparison considering this is the time GnR became GnR. They went from a sleezy club band to selling out stadiums.
-
Personally I thinks it's pretty simple. I've seen Axl preform in 2006, 2010,2011, 2012, and 2013. He was in good shape physically in 2006 and 2010. His physical shape has declined every year since 2010.
My hope is Axl is back in good shape in 2014. I would love to go the festival in OH. I'll wait until I see how SA turns out about before making plans though.

I'm not denying it's autobiographical. To me he's describing the ingnirance of a small town white boy moving to the big city. Are the word offensive sure. But are they anymore offensive than when u hear them in a movie?
-
I always felt this song was a story being told. The lyrics shouldn't bother you anymore than reading a book or watching a movie w/ the same words.
It's not like he's singing death to Nigers and hooray for tolerance!s.

They sold out the forum in 2011 and MSG in 2006

I downloaded that whole shOw a while back. It's a great concert. I've seen GnR every year since 2010 with the Gov Ball being the last show. It's crazy how good he was in 2010 compare to 2013.

I think the one w/ the pink shirt and green beer bottle is from 2010 SA tour

I don’t post a lot but usually look daily. This was my 3rd NITLT show and Jacksonville is my hometown. I saw them in 2016 in Orlando and 2017 in Winston-Salem.
I have to say I think this was my favorite of the NITLT shows I’ve seen. I liked being in an arena better than the stadium. The band definitely seemed tight and prepared to play. Show started right on time at 8:15 and went 3 hours.
I would agree Axl looks like he’s put on some weight but he sounded as good as he did in 2016 and had tons of energy. So to me it didn’t effect the show one bit.
I was really pumped when he did the “you know where you are” at the beginning of Jungle since he had not done that at the 3 previous shows.
I was hoping for Hard School but was pleased to hear Maddie and Shadow as I hadn’t heard Maddie at a show since 2010 and never heard shadow before.
My only gripe is The Seeker, I’ve heard Don’t Cry now 3 times in a row with no patience. I wish they’d drop the seeker and just play DC and Patience. But that’s my only complaint. All in all a great show and I’ll always go seem them when they tour.
