Axl painted his own light. The only reason the media even heard about the story was because Axl decided to use Slash's good will gesture against him, and attempt to ruin his relationship with his VR bandmates. Unfortunately, it only served to make Axl look petty and bitter.
U may be right. For some reason I thought Slash issued the first press release. Which caused Axl to release his regarding Slash showing up drunk. Either way I could very well be wrong in my assessment

I think Axl was open to Slash playing on some Chinese songs in 2006( i wanna say Canter mentioned that) And I think Slash made some promises to Beta that he didn't keep and instead allowed the media to run w/ the encounter and paint Axl in a worse light
I think having Slash as a part of anything GnR related would be huge, the Chinese release would have been more positive.

I would love to see Axl and Izzy do a Plant Page accoustic tour. And release a Lies like album of a few accoustic songs.

As for One in a million. I personally like that song and don't take it as racist. Axl is telling a story just like a movie or book would. Those words were needed to get his point across. I have no issue w/ that.

Honestly I think Axl doesn't play as many songs of Chinese like he did in Asia and Canada in 2009/ 2010 is because vocally he can't do it. Physically he's out of shape Do u honestly think Axl could sing scraped now? I don't think he has the stamina.
So I agree Axl could do like Metalica and designate tours to certain albums but in the end or would be as successful because of the current members

I think for Axl to repair his image he needs to let people see the man that his current band describe. They all say hes nice, funny and very generous. I think Axl has done a better job with interviews lately... Not saying he needs to reunite the old band but he does need to let the anger go and not sound so bitter towards slash especially during interviews.
His main problem will be Axl doesn't like doing press and unfortunately the press is responsible for someone like Axl's image. But to answer your question I doubt he ever will and honestly why should he. If Forbes is correct and estimates his wealth at 150-mil I would say hes doing fine

The brand-name "Guns n Roses" will always be backed by a major record label; there's just too much cache there. It's like KISS.
Record labels don't do much these days anyway. What are they doing for GNR right now? Nothing, really. Touring and merchandising is a separate venture, and the label has nothing to do with it.
Labels, by and large, advance money to artists in order to produce an album. As long as there is no new album, the labels have no expenses or profits with GNR, at all. The label doesn't collect anything from the band's touring profits.
They make profit off the back catalog

The band have rented a theater to do a rehearsal yesterday. It's the first time a band do that for that festival. Sting as done it in 2009 but that's about it. I wonder if there's gonna
be a surprise at the show. Why rent a theater?
Axl was not there, I think he was still in New York yesterday.
My guess just to practice some. They haven't played in over a month

Axl's weight doesnt bother me... its up to him to decide if he wants to be fit or not. I personally think not being in as good a shape as possible does effect his voice and his singing power.. With the being said to say Axl looks for for a 51 YO is kind of ridiculous. Because hes not the average 50 YO, hell Im 36 and Axl is in better shape than me. He's a rock icon and his job is to preform and be a public figure when he chooses to tour and release music. Axl likes to give a very physical performance and when hes not in top shape its noticeable.
I just saw GNR at the Gov Ball and I would say this is the worse shape ive seen Axl in and ive seen them 6 times since 2006. Even my son commented that his belly was bigger. Again it doesnt bother me, but I will say the Gov Ball was the weakest performance as a whole ive seen Axl preform. He's clunky moving around on stage and he's missing the rasp on a lot of songs and to me that comes down to being a little winded. He sounds fine live to the average person and at the end of the day thats all that matters but for me a person that travels all over the place to see them I can tell the difference.

Yep that was us. He's 11. 2nd time he's seen gnr. Crowd was great they were all very respectful of him.

Show was good. GNR was actually 5 min early starting. Played exactly the 90 min time slot. Solo were reduced so the flow of,the show was good. No estranged but all. In all a fun show. The ground were so muddy. We had VIP and were lucky a security person let my son and I threw a blocked area so we could get to VIP w/o walking threw too much mud.
This was the sixth time I've seen gnr since 2006. Axl needs to get in better shape. Don't get me wrong he's still a good preformed but he could be better if he was in better physical shape.
Crowd was very receptive and stayed throughout.

Crowd will be fine IMO. I'm sure a lot of gnr fans bought tix just to see them like i did. I'm not even heading over until 7 or so.

The audience wanted Nicki Minaj or The Wanted.I love USA! USA!, but we must have the most broing audiences compared to Europe and South America.
The audience expects more out of the shows. South America would be ecstatic if Axl came out and took a shit on the mic.
Or just someone that can perform their material without struggle.
I don't know how his voice was but to a person who's been to a Guns N' Roses, it's hard to believe that person won't get excited during Welcome To The Jungle even nowadays. What I'm saying is that Guns N' Roses had no place in that festival. Just like it'll be at the Governor's Ball. Most aren't there for Guns N' Roses, and decide they won't like Guns N' Roses before the concert starts. Guns N' Roses doesn't fit in these festivals at all. Go to a proper Guns N' Roses concert and see if people will act like that, even in the US, where good taste in music is even more difficult to see than in Rio.
How does GnR not fit in at a Rock Festival?? Granted not all came to see Guns like a normal show but to say they don't fit is rediculous.
I would agree w/ u for the Gov Ball but not Rocklahoma. Ill be at the Gov Ball so we'll see what happens.

besides release new music... i would say at-least get back into 2010 physical and vocal shape. Grow his hair a little longer, get ride of the cane. I was at a gamestop recently buying my son a video game and some fat gamer douche of a guy came in with the black cane with skull handle and all I could think of is how that now ruined Axl's look for me.

To my view Axl is walking in peace like a normal person through in New York even wearing his same style.
Time has changed. A 20´s ago he needed a lot security.
I don't think Axl needs much security in the USA anymore. Maybe one body Gaurd for the off chance crazy person.

Looks like that's their basis excuse for when Axl does something without consulting Team Brazil aka annoucing a new album or cancelling a tour.
By the way, one of the mods - I don't remember if it was HV or Montrealer or anyone else - confirmed that Dexter's IP was from Central America on the incident: exactly where Axl was.
I don't that's correct. That tweet about canceling shows came right after the Sturgis shows. DJ had just tweeted he and Axl were gun shopping in Utah

Interestingly the highest number of recorded Axl's was 73 in 2011 - the result of 2010 tour post gig love perhaps. ;-)
I named my new puppy black lab Axl. I knew a family that named their son Axl but the mom was Scandinavian and in the part of world Axl is a somewhat popular name. In this families case Axl was a family name

The problem with this argument is that the very next show in Chile he was on fire. People have bad nights and it is shame that Axl's have been on live broadcasts of late.Beyond his voice being off that night... it was clear Axl was out of shape physically and vocally. It was disappointing to see and I wondered why when the stage was so big does Axl come up short? Why not be mentally, physically and vocally prepared for such a huge event? It honestly looked like he sat on his ass for a year and did nothing.

James has not sounded like James for at least 10 years. It's actually worst than Axl.When Axl FUCKED UP the VMA's, he still had good years ahead.

Sorry Axl, when you suck that bad live, it's time to suck it up and practice. That's why they call you a has been instead of James Hetfield.
He does sound a lot better than he used to. Less yodeling and more growl! I saw 'em in Jersey on the Death Magnetic tour and they put on a killer show. Though it left me wishing they woulda thrown in 6 solo spots, 6 covers, and a Chicken Inspired Robot Dance.
I wouldn't say he was on fire in Chille. He was better vocally but was still outta shape. IMO Axl has been very inconsistent since RIR. I've seen them 4 times since 2010 with the 2010 Toronto show being the best. I will say all the shows I've seen I have enjoyed but he could be in better shape which I think would help vocally
The reason why although Better is the most catchy GNR song ever, it never became a hit

Better is a great song. And of all the new songs played at a show by the middle of the song people are rocking out instead of heading to the bathroom. Better didn't make it as a single because after Chin Dem flopping as a single the radio stations stopped playing the album.
