"This is a photo of Axl and I at his home in Malibu July 2, 1998. You actually can see Axls leg tattoos which many people didn’t know he has!! He also signed my UYI 2 CD book and this is my collection in Guns N Roses tickets from Mexico, USA, South America, Norway and even my GNR fan club card."

Lucky to get a photo with the MAN.

To me, this photo shows you can’t judge a book by its cover. Here is a photo of a guy who impacted everyone here, and millions of others, in profound ways.  If I didn’t know Gn’R, I would pay this person zero mind on the street.

Despite his success, Axl clearly allowed himself to let his appearance go and, more importantly, his health.

Interesting how he has experimented with his image after this photo (2002, 2006, 2009, 2014, 2016)

A flaw is that Obama had 8 years and didn’t bring jobs to the rust belt and Hillary made no promises. So they went with the bilionaire who might know how to get things done. A hail mary maybe. They got a tax cut. I wouldn’t be surprosed if Trumps base are happy, mid terms suggested they are. That why the move to impeach, dems don’t know how to beat Trump in an election.

I don’t think people like Trump were just invented, he’s basically a stereotype of a country club republican. And lying and cheating has always been the way to power. Then there’s the whole hip hop republican thing. I’m pretty much a liberal and never really hang out with Wall Street type guys or military guys. But I’m not sure I have the balls to through them in the trash because they voted republican. Overall that’s a subjective argument. Yes you have to be a bit of bastard to succeed in the business world, especially if you can’t make anything. Honestly if you look into most of prezs the fish was rotten on arrival. We can’t possibly being talking about morals at this late juncture?

In place like Dubai or Saudi it’s always loosening of trade and culture that led to economic growth. It proves the point in a smaller way, even fascists have to go to freedom to make bank.

But obviously there’s all that oil. Again you can look at the ethics of the US in how they deal in the ME. Wanting countries to trade in the petrodollar is what leads to all the regime changes. The wars lead to distablized countries and global chaos and death.

My point is just why focus all the outrage on Trump being a supposed white nationalist, when there are real horrors in Yemen to address that go back way before Trump became a reality tv star. I take Trump winning the WH as a sign something is broken in the system, everyone else seems to want to blame Trump for the broken system so that they can have their version of a lying scum bag in office.

Even then it was old new music.

Agree with some here but would def challenge you on others. Any economic data would show that there was tremendous job creation starting in 2009. Trump frankly hasn’t changed much job wise. His administration is pretending it did and taking advantage of the positive economic momentum that already existed in Jan 2017 (thank you 10 years of 0%-1% interest rates)

Most “wall streeters” voted for Hillary. I work in nyc finance and basically the majority (id guess 75%) is appalled by Republicans

System is def broken.  Congress is the worst part of it. Watching the folks like Lindsay Graham sell his soul to trump because it’s political beneficial makes me ill. He called him a “shot to the head” in 2016. Now he is the great strong leader. What happened to standing up for what one believes in?

Sorry for the relatively off topic posts. Love GnR and the recent videos out of Taipei!

And glad Axl is taking a stand. We at least know his mind is sound 😉

Let Axl be disappointed then. I am disappointed with his mickey voice, haggard look, and cash grab tours. He had unlimited potential back in 2002 and gave up on himself, his band, and his vision.

It's no con. I see it with my own two eyes. Millions of real Americans do as well, which is why we voted Trump. Everywhere I go, I am surrounded by 3rd world foreigners and it didn't used to be like that growing up in the 90's. They are here to flood our schools, hospitals, and prisons....all at hard working American's expense. You are right in that the elites rigged the economy, but they did it by flooding this country with 3rd world foreigners and signing bad trade deals which enabled millions of jobs to be outsourced. If these huge corporations(which bribed the crooked politicians) aren't outsourcing jobs, they are hiring Indians to come here and work through the H1/H2 Visa program. Real Americans have been fleeced. Good paying jobs gone and forced to compete with 3rd worlders for the dead end jobs remaining.

Where do you live to be “surrounded” by foreigners?  Maybe you didn’t mean that to sound so derogatory

Trump has brought out the worst in many, many Americans.  There is a reason the far right is now more of a threat to our country than Middle East terrorism (just based on pure empirical evidence  at this point)

Immigration control is obviously important and it’s not like it wasn’t actively enforced before Trump.  Let’s not forget we are a nation of immigrants.  Immigrants commit far less crime than Americans.  And they do the jobs that millions of lazy Americans won’t do (farmers, cooks, cleaners, construction, etc) or are too addicted to drugs to qualify for a lot of basic, middle income jobs.  These people are humans that are trying to survive.   I certain disagree with the far left’s “ban ICE”, but the folks who demonize all immigrants are just cruel.

Large companies have taken advantage of a flawed immigration system (H1B visa in particular), but job opportunities exist.  Literally there are hundreds of thousands open engineering jobs around the country.

Your “American jobs” were going away no matter what.  That is captialism and globalism.  Either play or die.  And Americans need it because we demand $200 flat panel TVs, cheap computers, your iPhone / Android, $10 t shirts, and a car that works perfect for under $25k.  Any company who employs worker in the US who command 5x what it would cost in India will be out of business before long. Then no one has a job.

Obama was a good president. Mistakes? Absolutely (Syria is a good example). His administration (and the Fed under Bernanke) did usher us out the Great Recession. I have no confidence the unqualified clowns who work for Trump have the intellectual horse power to do the same

Dont take this personally.  Just my $0.02

I agree that the dems not fighting hard enough for the common man is one factor that lead to trump.  But anyone who thinks the person to save them from the billionaire elites is A BILLIONAIRE ELITIST, is really not very smart.  The choice was between democrats - who are mostly controlled by elites, but still try to protect the planet and help the poor and middle class - or the republicans  - who are TOTALLY controlled by the elites, dont care about the planet, dont care about the poor, and coddle nazis and klansmen.

Freedom has lead to wealth FOR WHO?   There is tons of wealth in dubai and there are also modern slaves.  In fact, in much of the mideast, the LACK of freedom has lead to wealth for the leaders.

The middle class in america was the most healthy - with one income able to support a whole family and send their kids to college - when unions and tax laws limited the wealth and power of the elites.  Since we got rid of those unions and tax laws, the wealthy have sucked all the wealth out of the middle class.

Trump is not the source of all of our problems.  He's simply an opportunistic con man who seized the moment to profit off of our problems.  But he does make them worse.  If you care about the budget, the planet, the happiness of the average american, he is making everything worse every day.

And dont underestimate the damage he's causing to our society.  Having obama in power (even though he was flawed) sent the message to every black kid that they can work hard and grow up to be something besides an athlete or rapper.   Having trump in power sends the message that the path to success is lying, cheating, bullying, bragging, and more lying.  This will make more people try to succeed that way, and harm a lot of innocent people in the process.  The fish rots from the head down.  If you think trump is bad, wait til you see the wave of mini-trumps that are going to follow in his footsteps.  That's why it's so important for him to be publicly exposed, prosecuted, and removed.  To show the next generation that being like trump doesn't get you where you want to go.

Well said! Your last two messages are some of the well articulated and thoughtful messages I’ve seen on this forum. 👍

"Show some passion"- exactly.  Not sure why he's even still agreeing to tour...he doesn't seem into it.  Where as he was in the earlier legs.  Yes he's 56, but he still should/could have a good 5-7 years left.  Is his voice really shot or is he just out of shape/being lazy I wonder?

I have the same thoughts. There are multiple musicians his age or older who sound fantastic - Trent Reznor, Lenny Kravitz, Steven Tyler, Noel Gallagher, Bono, Mick Jagger, etc. Axl can be in this rarified field.

I don’t buy his vocals are permanently shot argument. His vocals have dramatically improved from one tour to the next 2002-forward. I believe he can turn it around. 🤞

I hope Axl (or Slash/Duff) will give us the inside scoop one day

Have you been to a show?.

The one I went to I was close enough to see the sweat pouring off the man.

They say 30mins of exercise even a brisk walk is beneficial to your health and cardiovascular system.

The man is on stage for 3 hours,

He is fit enough as I am sure you and I could not do what he does.

May I suggest getting on a treadmill in a very humid environment for 3 hours, and give it a try yourself.

I hear you but Axl is in bad shape most likely because of his diet. Touring is also probably hard on the body, and garbage food can be addictive.

Given the number of shows and the amount of sweat he has excreted, I’d thought he be 20 lbs light. Carrying around that gut can’t be good for any part of his body, especially his vocals.

I’ll be an Axl fan until the day I die. Wish him the best health possible👍

i read in this post that he has more control on his voice or whatever, but when i see this videos i don't know, he's struggles more and more with the breathing and the range, etc...and it's been going downhill since SA 2016, with no sign of improvement...

Those videos are so hard to watch. Makes me sad to see what age and, perhaps, bad lifestyle choices can do to physical ability. I couldn’t bear to listen to a bootleg of these shows on headphones

Unless, Axl can turn it around, he should hang it up and begin to monetize the vault - he’ll make enough money in perpetuity and reward the fans who have stuck by him all these years.

  8. These videos are tough to watch. I suppose if I was Indonesian, I’d be be grateful to witness Axl and Slash together. US and Western Europe gets spoiled with amazing tours.

That said, it hurts to watch your fav band and singer in this condition. Hope something changes soon

  9. Public service announcement. There is a very large number of litohos on eBay right now. It’s almost as if someone was on the tour and is dumping his or her collection. Prices range from $1 to $900 (Tokyo I think).  There is even a Loaded Duff litho

Thought folks here would be interested

Nothing there for me - looking for LA Night 1 August 2016!  Wld appreciate any referrals (realize it’s a long shot!)

  10. What is the end goal here? Remove all Gn’R videos that aren’t official music videos?

I used to consume a good amount of guns content on YouTube (a nice way to end a rough day at work). Now, nothing. YouTube’s algorhrim doesn’t even recommend anything Guns to me anymore.

Although there are endless 30 second to 1 minute clips that are “pushed” on my Instagram account

This whole thing is pointless and just makes GnR less relevant in the world of online / social media content consumption.  Combined with the embarrassing merch and $1000 box set, this has been a disappointing year for Guns N Roses

I actually went looking online for it yesterday because I want to buy another one. Here's what the front looks like:
    https://www.umrock.com/men-s-robin-finck-t-shirt-black-cotton-p-262355.html

then on the very bottom on the back, it says "Guns N' Roses" in the lower case 'chinese' font

Thanks for that. Found it on amazon and rockabillia but they are sold out. I feel like I recall seeing this at the 2002 show merch stand, but I could be wrong.

Would love to find one too. Is this site legit? Think it also has the Gn’R 2002 logo on the back?

So - listened to each of the above and it sounds closest to the Houston gig in terms of vocals etc although it was a properly mixed track. Don’t think it was that gig per se but closer.

I did notice when it was playing there were no ‘Mickey’ vocals so that narrows it a tiny bit! 😂

I can’t recall the last time I heard Paradise City post-1993 that didn’t have Mickey vocals. I suppose, to some degree, 2006 but still...

I also don't expect a setlist to be perfect.. I hate that Guns plays CD songs and I still go and have had a blast at the NITL shows.. (though the last one they played a bit too much CD)  It is all good.. Not looking for any sympathy or anything lol. It is what it is.. I am still always pulling for Slash and I hope everyone that goes has a fucking blast!! I have liked his entire catalog and am just bummed that he layed an egg with LTD..

LTD isn’t brilliant but a number of tracks have grown on me. I saw the show in NYC at Pier 17 last night and it was much better than expected (venue with the BK Bridge, Manhattan and Brooklyn in the background didn’t hurt)

sounds like you’ve seen Slash more than most of us. However, he won’t be around forever. If you love an artist, it is best to seize the opportunity when you can!
