I think Axl has made antoher mistake with live material. Not only did he choose a mediocre show to release.....he even did it officially and is now hurting his current band's status. What kind of fucking idiot is he? Would it not be more decent if he just released say a few proshot soundboard shows from UYI tour and a few from this year, just over the net? This is such a fucking cash in. If he wants to release live material, release some really kickass stuff, give us something old, give us something new and don't put anything old out as official.
-
I think Axl should release a big load of UYI shows...but I think they should be just released on the internet as a thank you to all the hardcore fans. And not as something official to hurt this new band's image. Anyways people please don't float off hte subject as usual.
-
So he 's gonna release Chicago '92. That show is pretty mediocre, i'd rather be hearing the songs on the albums than on that show. Why doesn't he ask US FANS what shows WE want? I'm sure fans have heard audience recorded shows from that tour which they would love to get hteir hands on the soundboard version of them. Take a look at hte shows on the Get In The Ring tour with Izzy or the Gn'R/Metallica tour. Ass kicking shows and he releases Chicago?
We should create a poll and show Axl what show we would really like to hear in soundboard so I have an idea....why doesn't each poster in this threat give out their opinion of what UYI show they would like to see in a DVD Pro Shot Soundboard version. Mine would be Jack-Murphy Stadium, San Diego, CA, 09.30.92
-
When you look at UYI tour you have to remember that the UYI songs have to be performed really well. And Chicago '92 did not deliver that. You Could Be Mine sounded appalling on that show. And You Could Be Mine as we know is one of the most important songs in terms of performance because that 1minute intro in the song will refect upon the other songs' performances since it demonstrates the clear sound of hte drums, whining guitars, and chopping rhythm guitars as well as bass. Why not release something else like San Diego 09.30.1992? Sure that show is just 16 songs....but 16 kickass songs and when you listen to that show the songs smash the album performances. And plust I think a stadium show is more appropriate to release because it reflects that Gn'R at hte top were stadium rockers and not some arena band.

If Axl is releasing an old Gn'R DVD, why doesn't he release something really really badass? I mean, compare Chicago '92 to the AFD & UYI albums...I prefer the albums. Why doesn't he release something really really badass though...something off the following list would be more kickass...
08.03.91 - Great Western Forum, Inglewood, CA
08.31.91 - Wembley Stadium, London, England
12.13.91 -- Madison Square Garden, New York, NY
06.23.92 - Feyenoord Stadium, Rotterdam, Holland
09.30.92 - Jack Murphy Stadium, San Diego, CA
you know...something really ass kicking that really gives it the in-your-face comparison to the AFD and UYI albums. What is the point of releasing a live show if it the songs on it don't sound better than on the album?

I just watched the video of Down On The Farm live from Baltimore 11/13 and this song is FUCKING AMAZING...they even cover it better than the original band. I think this song should be put as a permanent song in the setlist. This is the kind of songs that define Gn'R and their ultimate power in sound and energy. This song really need be put as a permanent on the setlist. Who 's with me? rock1
Oh a link to that video from Baltimore 11/13 that i found....

Soundboards
in 2006
That 's one of hte reasons why Axl is such a fucking asshole. I mean, he seriously has never from UYI era up to now released any really good music live. If he had, I don't think he 'd be flamed so much. Let me see...UYI....St Louis, Oklahoma, Chicago, Oklahoma, Paris, Venezuela, Chile, Argentina, Argentina???? They are possibly the worst sounding UYI shows. They don't reflect much on the ability of Gn'R on UYI tour. And most of these shows are either interrupted in songs, cut off songs, less than perfect quality. 2006? Rock Am Ring is not even done as a full show. Just taken 15 songs out of a possibly more than 2hr show, no solos, no Out Ta Get Me, no Madagascar. Axl needs to get his gear together and release a load of live shows from all eras.

As someone here said...if it's not out by LATE FALL as Axl said...I will just download it when the thing comes out. All in all as much as I love buying rock music CD's...this is one I think I don't want to buy because of how much Axl has delayed it and how many broken promises he has made on it. Sure I'll buy it later at some point...but at one of those supercheap music stores where you can buy it for $10.
-
Axlites and Axl Apologists all alike make me laugh how pathetic losers they are. This is Rock music...it's do or die, it's deliver or fade in shame...Axl clearly said fall/late-fall which means late November at the latest. Which means if he does not deliver on his promise...then rock fans, media and all...give him the river of shit that liars and unloyal rockstars deserve. I certainly hope he gets a really stinging backlash if he does not deliver what he clearly said.
-
Axl said that CD will be released around Fall-Late Fall. And late fall means late november...goes up to 30th. So I think if he goes back on that and doesn't keep the word then the media should step in and rightfully expose his actions publically.
-
Does anyone know whether Brain will eventually be the full time drummer? I really hope he comes back at some stage soon for good because....9 members including 2 drummers....
And it is Brain that is a specially good drummer...Frank is not special or anything even though he 's good...Brain just slaughters him.
ps. you can't have a Brainless Gn'R
-
Yes you make success by making people guess and coming back for more...but not by giving out nothing for 13 years. That's just stupidity, it's no strategy. He's lost millions of fans because of his stupidity.
-
good stuff.
i love a good thoughtful read of something like this.
-
If it doesn't come out in FALL then I hope Axl gets the backlash he deserves for it. He said "Fall-late fall" so if it doesn't come out hten i think media needs to be a little bitter to him to make him fulfill his promises.

Best show to date

Nobody is waiting for anything. As for the band...there is no 'still'. This is a totally new and totally different band. Yes I love what Guns N' Roses were, but I love this band (insert name Axl please) as well. The only thing I don't like is this band playing songs which Gn'R made, rather than all their own. Sure it's alright to play 2 or 3 songs from another band, but to make your setlist 13-14 of hteir songs and call yourself after their name...fuck no.
-
I like how he said "The set-list..Its not the same set-list."
I like that voice.. !!..
I thought he said "The thetlith, it 'th not the thame thetlitht"
-
So we saw the setlist paper yesterday or so. Apparently the songs with best responses were Perfect Crime, Down On The Farm, and the new songs Prostitute, Sway and If The World. So do you think maybe Axl released them to see what songs people would like to see him play?
-
This band is just getting bigger and bigger with how many musicians they have, they have 9 now...how many more do they want? Gn'R literally have made themselves the biggest rock band in the world...they got 9 members

Robins beard
in 2006
I think Robin honourably deserves the nickname Jesus for his appearance and all his hard work
How about it boys and girls? "Robin "Jesus" Finck"
or lineup wise...
Axl
Bumblefoot
Jesus
Richard
Tommy
Brain
Dizzy
Pittman

Fuck Yeah!
I wanna hear Perfect Crime, Down On The Farm, Prostitute, Sway and If The World

Tour so far
in 2006
I personally think it's a bit spineless for Axl to be still stuck to playing 15-20year old songs with a bunch of guys who didn't even write them in the first place. I mean...without Gn'R songs Axl wouldn't be much...he would have to take the long but dignified way towards respect like Slash, Duff and Matt did with VR. If he didn't play songs that Gn'R made his own band would be nothing. Or at least he would then have to actually play almost all of his new songs.

Madagascar
in 2006
I really hope they don't put this thing on the album. Playing it live for fun once every now and then while there 's still no album is cool. But putting that as one of the 13 songs on an album which has been in 8years of making...

Madagascar
in 2006
Yeah but in a rock band like this...? Look at it this way...he went from Mr. Brownstone to Madagascar. If you like epics or ballads then songs the style of Breakdown, Estranged, and Catcher In The Rye are more of an answer.
Will Axl be remembered as one of the ALL time musical greats?

NO. Axl is an egotistical asshole who in his music career has done quality work...but the quantity of that is very little. He 'll be remembered as the guy who treated his fans like shit. History judges people and he will get his fair share.
