Def Leppard are up there on my favourite band list... sucks what happened to that drummer losing his arm and all.

Yeah the bands had a lot of hardships. First the loss of pete willis, then ricks arm, then the loss of steve clark (rip), but somehow they always come out of it still kicking ass.

Why does everyone love the black album so much?.....thats where it all went wrong. Sure it has a couple of great songs on there, but it's definately not their best.

i think its because im more of a rock fan than a metal fan and the black album is closer to rock than the rest of there albums, even though i love them too.

So what do you guys think of Def Leppard? I think they are great, probably my 2nd favoruite band after guns n roses. It wasnt there attitude or there image that has anything to do with meliking them, they just made GREAT music. up until slang is just great. There first 4 albums are classic and Adrenalize and slang are both amazing in my books. I have nothing against there new music on euphoria and X i like it alot but its got nothing on there old stuff.

If it wasnt for Def leppard i would have never gotten into rock music. I found a copy of my dads adrenalize cd which he got by accident back when it came out and i fell in love with it. A lot of people complain this band had no balls, but they werent about that, they werent about going out and getting hammered in public even though they did, they just didnt advertise it as much as the other bands in that time. They were just about making music that everyone could enjoy and thats why they are at the moment the only rock band who have 2 albums that went diamond in the 80s.

you wont be able to play whole songs without a miniscule amount of chord knowledge. just basic open chords(major and minor), bar chords, and power chords can normally get you through most things. its more detrimental to your ability to write music. a lead line is often played as a picking variation of a chord, especially during verses(i.e. the 2nd half of the two SCOM verses). i base many of my riffs off of chords that i just tweaked around a little.(if your music savy slash often throws in a lot of flat and minor 7th's). If you really want to start writing your own stuff learn your scales.pentatonic scales give you a hard rock blues type sound. if you mix them with a basic minor scale you can get some different more metal type sounds. if you want to whip out something blazing fast and have it sound awesome use arpeggios. there my secret weapon when preforming solos.

Aerosmith is one of my favoruite bands, they have always made great music, contrary to what people say about them making shit music after the 70s. They were the first band i got to see in concert and i loved every minute of it. Stephen tyler is the defintion of a frontman.

Good charlotte sucks, they bitch about the rich and famous in that song of theres, but all there other songs are full of their ownbitching. they cant play their instruments, they are posers and they are conceaded losers. One thing i can say is that if the lead signer is actually fucking hilary duff i will have gained a certain amount of respect for him.

im a huge def leppard fan, not of euphoria or X, not that they are bad albums just i prefer rock. Anyways I think there 80s stuff is classic and some of the best music ever written. They are also teh only rock banmd to have 2 dimond records from the 80s.
