Slash is about to do a live interview on the project!

I really wish he’d have picked a different show to go on 🤦‍♂️

This could potentially be the most awkward, cringeworthy interview of all time, for anyone in Aus, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Anyhoo, we will see what happens 😬

I hate the project. Terrible hosts. Was tempted to watch it when I heard slash was going to be on but screw it I'll just read everyones comments afterwards.

The list of credits seems pretty loose? Like in some cases it means 'appeared at the same festival as...'

How has he worked with Tool for instance? Danny Carrey couldnt pull off a beat and they thought that Frank could save the day, lol?

Might of just filled in for a warm up session or something if danny wasnt available or danny was having a piss break or something. Who knows.

LoL at the article “It is an honour to bring one of the greatest drummers in the world to South Africa".

Looks like Frank hasnt got much going on to do these cover band shows.

    https://m.bizcommunity.com/Article/196/480/186599.html

Guns N' Roses drummer Frank Ferrer will join Jason Oosthuizen's tribute show, Guns N' Roses & Friends, at the Hillcrest Quarry in Durbanville, Cape Town on 15 March 2019. Ferrer is best known as the drummer for American rock band Guns N' Roses, with whom he has played, toured, and recorded since 2006. He was also a member of The Psychedelic Furs, Love Spit Love as well as The Beautiful. He has recorded and worked with several high profile musicians including Robi ‘Draco’ Rosa, Tool, Gordon Gano, PJ Harvey, Tommy Stinson, Nena, Frank Black of The Pixies, Neil Young, Perry Farrell, and Cheetah Chrome of The Dead Boys. “It is an honour to bring one of the greatest drummers in the world to South Africa to guest appear in our Guns N' Roses Tribute Show. I have been an admirer of his career for years, so it was naturally a no-brainer to bring Frank to our country for the GNR Tribute Show, and we were delighted that he agreed to come and was just as excited to visit. We cannot wait to share a stage with him and show him our beautiful country,” says Oosthuizen. With a band lineup including Clint Falconer and Dean Barrett from Dan Patlansky band, Werner Bosman from Jesse Clegg and who also stars in the Led Zeppelin and ACDC vs Deep Purple Tribute Shows, Jason Oosthuizen from Van Coke Kartel, Lost&Found and now OOOTH, Emile De Jong from The Narrow and frontman Ryan Howell from The Monroes, this killer lineup will definitely keep you entertained and bring all your favourite Guns N' Roses songs back to life. Advertisement This show will be proudly supported by OOOTH who will perform songs from their debut album, Who Cares What You Think, released and launched in November 2018. Tickets are available via Plankton https://plankton.mobi/Events/EventBooking/ddadd542-7b1d-e911-80c2-0cc47a93d288?fbclid=IwAR15kmzMEmPfmgsy_AAsuX_5yENQfsok1-3uGpkycJ17FXcVhbXs9hQ184s

why is it Don has no issues getting people to help make a record but poor steven adler cant get a vocalist for his band?. In terms of the song i like the solo and reckon the song will go down better live.....still think Don should be an eagles member. Fuck henley.

Because people dont want to be a vocalist for a AFD cover band and supposedly Stevens hard to be around for a lenghty period.

They knew enough to know when it was over. They couldn't replace Scott and they couldn't find someone with enough of a musical identity to reshape their sound.

In fact, the only album they were ever really in sync with was Contraband, Scott and the band were on other pages on Libertad, so they really only had one album where there was a whole "band identity."

A more interesting question, is what will happen to that material that was written for the third album? After years of trying to get it going again, they must have written some kick-ass material. Will it be recycled in other bands?

I remember, one track that the band wrote in the Libertad sessions but never recorded with Scott, was called "Muthafucka." When they were auditioning people for the vacant spot, some skinny British guy got a copy of Muthafucka so he could write and perform a vocal on it. The guy put it on Youtube and it was...so bad! It was silly and the guy was trying to Scott it up, the whole time. Of course, after a day or so of endless ribbing, this singer took the song down in embarrassment. But despite this poor guy's audition, I remembered how cool the riff and music to that song sounded.

I wish we could hear the stuff that they wrote.

There is 10 completed demos with Corey Taylor on vocals however slash decided he didnt fit the mold or direction of what they were looking for.

This was to be the followup to Libertad

The amounts as reported at the time by AP and Billboard magazine:

Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler, who was thrown out of the band because he couldn’t kick his heroin habit, got a $2.5 million settlement yesterday in a lawsuit filed against the group and managers.

The agreement, reached shortly before the lawsuit would have gone to the Superior Court jury, awarded Adler $2.3 million from the band, $150,000 from ex-manager Alan Niven and $50,000 from manager Doug Goldstein. [Assosiated Press, Sept. 25, 1993]

So, unless the reports were inaccurate, it seems that the amount Goldstein had to pay was much smaller than Niven's (the legal fees are another matter).

Do you trust anything Goldstein has to say.

I reckon his over exaggerating it again.

anyone a member? I am going through some old stuff and I came across this, I remember I signed up for it for 1 year and I am pretty sure I was supposed to get a Newsletter every 4 months and I got this 1 newsletter and I never heard back from them, kind of makes sense if you look at the timeline as this was dated from May 9, 1996 and Slash left in October and maybe the band went into a disarray and they stopped sending them and making them, anyone know if they made any after this Volume 1 issue 3? anyone have any of the previous 2 Newsletters? it is odd though I received this in May 1996, and looking at the "Language of Fear" thing it talks about a contest and the entries have to be received by February 1995 and the discography says compiled November 1994 and Sympathy for the Devil was released in December 94 so I am guessing they just sent me an old copy.
