Not sure, but I'd wager just Japan. That's how they tend to do things.
-
I don't use facebook for personal reasons, and yes, I could create a fake account just to contact them. But I'd rather not go through with that if there are other ways to get in touch, like email. Besides, with all the thousands of fans pestering them for info, I would be just another asshole asking for something from them. Yes, I know that's exactly what I am, just another desperate fan with a request, but I don't know what else to do. I just think facebook is really impersonal.

I don't recall ever pissing in SOB's cheerios....I quite liked him when he was a regular at gnfnr. Seriously clueless as to why that venom is directed at me...?
But yeah Dazey, I've had a chat with Graeme but I wanna cover all my bases and send out my message to as many receptive ears as possible.
I live in Japan. I'll get in a pissing contest with any GNR fan here in Japan about the "level of my fandom" and whether or not I "deserve" to go. I'll take that challenge any day of the week!

Hey mygnrforum, I'm estrangedtwat. Some of you know me from gnfnr; most of you don't.
I tend to be long-winded in my posts, so I'll try to just give the tl;dr version:
GNR is coming to Tokyo at a small club and seeing them in a small club is something I've been dreaming about for over 20 years. This is my first and possibly LAST shot to ever witness it.
Plus, they are most likely gonna play Estranged, without exaggeration my favorite song of all time and something I have never witnessed live. Nor have I ever been able to see a Guns show from general admission.
So what's the big deal? Why not buy a ticket and just go to the show like the rest of us did? It's not so simple.
These tickets are gonna sell out instantly. Plus, this being Japan, they are criminally expensive but I give not a shit about the price...I'll pay whatever it costs to see them! I just don't wanna get shut out. The tickets are supposed to go on sale to the public Saturday morning at 10 and you bet your ass I'm gonna try to snag one...but this place only holds 2700 people and there are A LOT more diehard GNR fans than that in Tokyo...that's assuming there are even any tickets left after the pre-sale lottery.
Shit...this is getting long-winded, just like I said it would....
I don't have any connections to the band. I used to know Del a long time ago but I can't get in touch now. I'm literally BEGGING anyone who reads this and might have a way to contact someone like Del or Beta or Fernando even BBF or ANYONE that can help me!!
I'm not asking for free tickets, or extra tickets, or passes so I can go backstage and party with the band all night. None of that....I simply want to be able to purchase one ticket, for myself, so that I can attend this monumental show.
I figured I'd have no chance, but that story about the guy getting the microphone back after that fuckhead security guy stole it was so inspiring to me....I realized Axl really DOES give a shit about his real fans! It gave me hope!
If anyone has a way to contact anyone directly, (I don't use facebook or twitter) then PLEASE help me out, send me a PM...anything!! I'd really appreciate it...I don't want this opportunity to slip by!!
Sorry for such a long, rambling, and pathetic plea. I'm desperate here, so I guess I have no shame.
Thanks for reading and thanks in advance if you can help me in any way!!

It's a great venue to be sure...I can only speak for the Tokyo location, as I have not been to the others, but it's not quite as exclusive as all that.
I've seen 311 there and also Beck.
It's a bit of a hike from the main part of the city. It's on Tokyo Bay, in a section called Odaiba.
I'm doing everything I can to get a ticket to this show....I will be depressed as hell if I miss out.
-
Aren't they gonna be in Indonesia anyway? Kinda makes sense to make a quick stop in Japan since you're already in Asia, seeing as how it's probably the only place in the world they can charge $300 for tickets and it'll still sell out. They still make over half a million dollars for one gig.
-
It's "special" in the sense that it's the only date in Japan, meaning the band is making a special trip for one performance only. It's even more special in the sense that it's at the Zepp, which is an insanely small venue for a band of GNR's size. That just doesn't happen often in Japan...last time it was the Tokyo Dome which is enormous. Despite the sickening cost, these tickets will sell out in minutes.
If you're reading any more into it than that, thinking there's gonna be new songs...well....you should know better by now!
Fuck, I wanna go. I suppose I can try to get a ticket, but chances are I'll get shut out, and if I DO get one...I'm out $200-300!!
-
I have it on vinyl. Two copies actually.
-
Breakdown. It would only be the third time it was ever played live.
Or how about Shotgun Blues cause it's never been played live? It's no shittier than most of the CD songs anyway!
-
Fucking watch it already. And fucking love it like most human beings on the planet earth.
Leave all your weird-ass uptight "blame" shit behind and just enjoy a good goddamn movie for fuck's sake without being all fucking weird and gross about it.
-
Best movie of all time????
No.
Top 10?
Not quite.
But clearly in the top 15 or so of all time....fucking classic movie.
Greasy Sax Man for the motherfucking win!!!
-
Could be someone's grocery list. Could be anything.
btw...Where was it ever stated that they were gonna play AFD in it's entirety? I don't remember reading that....

Live Loco Motive mp3s are out there....
used to be all here before megaupload and stuff got closed

Loco Motive is one of my all time favorites. But there is a reason that it was only played about 6 times in the history of GNR....it was hard for Axl to sing. Like other fan favorites like Coma, TWAT, or Breakdown....for whatever reasons, Axl never felt comfortable putting them into the regular rotation. We're lucky they got played at all.
Estranged and Civil War were staples of the UYI tour. Axl liked those songs and was OK with performing them every night 20 years ago and he obviously feels the same way now.
But to hold out hope for a song that was super rare two decades ago is kind of insane. I'd piss and shit myself simultaneously if the new band ever busted it out, but I doubt it'll ever happen.

For reference's sake, here is the fake as hell setlist BBA posted before RIR last year:
And here is the setlist someone else posted before Rio:

Anyway...can't wait for Guns. Here's hoping for Catcher and Breakdown. Maybe some Locomotive?
Keep dreaming....

You hear bands talk, (so where's your favorite place to play), you rarely hear anywhere here, it's always Mexico or Argentina.
Riiiiiight. All those kids that are just dying to "make it." Struggling to be the next Nirvana or Green Day......
They don't wanna play New York, or LA, or San Francisco or Boston or Chicago.....
No.
They wanna play in Mexico.
yeaaaaaaah.
Fucking Mexico is where it's at these days. Woo.
Or maybe....just maybe...if they're super lucky??? Argentina.
Yeah.

This is why he still sell out arenas... good point.
Btw, I don't really know what you are trying to do but it really seems you are trying very hard to be one of those attention whores (cupcakes)... and it aint workin' lemme tell ya.
Just very annoying and obnoxious that's it.
And cupcake this comment please, again... it will Pixel-Hurt me.
OK fine.
How many arenas were SOLD OUT during the last "gnr" arena tour in 2011?
I'm not speaking of just US, I'm talking about the whole world. Maybe I exaggerated with the world "sold out", it is easy to do so, BUT around the globe, they sell a ton more than a, well, "sellout" would sell, atleast admit that.
i dont have to admit a damn thing. you just said it all yourself. axl is a fucking washed up has been in the states and you can take that fact to the bank!!
-
I dont expect there to be another album ever. As far as the trilogy, didnt axl say that UYI was going to be like 4 cds???
Wishful thinking but i dont think the label wants anything to do with it
well....to be fair, UYI WAS four LPs.
on vinyl anyway.

Axl Rose isn't a has-been??
Say fucking who???
As far as the REAL world is concerned, outside of the few thousand of shut-in basement-dwellers on these forums, he's a fucking HAS BEEN.
What the fuck??
-
guns n roses post slash had a guitar god. his name isn't buckethead. his name is robin finck.
Who??
Never fucking heard of him.
What songs did he write?? Did he write songs with gnarly fucking riffs like Page, Townsend, Richards, Van Halen, Clapton, Beck, Santana, Slash?????
NO?
No.....I didn't think so.
A desperate plea to my fellow GNR fans....

In less than three weeks, I'll be seeing Axl in a small club on Tokyo Bay. I got a ticket!! And I did it fair and square. I was the first one at the ticket booth, and I bought my ticket the second they went on sale. I don't think I've ever been so happy to fork over $213 in my life! I'll be in general admission at a GNR show for the first time. Now it's just up to Axl and the boys to bring it and make sure this small but dedicated crowd gets their money's worth!
Thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions!! But in the end, I'm all good...things worked out on their own.
December 18th....almost three years to the day that they came and put on the historic show at Tokyo Dome on December 19th, 2009!! Even if this show isn't as long, or doesn't have the rare CD songs, I don't care, as long as I get to finally hear Estranged LIVE. Damn, I'm excited!!!
