I’m not sure I follow this post. Izzy has released over 10 albums since he left GNR, with some of the best stuff any of the GNR members have done.

Are you saying something only matters if lots of other people buy it ? Or that touring the same songs sporadically for 30 years is preferable over heaps of great new stuff ?

Its a genuine question - I’m trying to follow your logic here.

I'm talking about doing serious long tours, promotions, trying to get something to grow, not just doing albums and leaving them there for someone to find them, I enjoy indie artists, hell my favorite GN'R guitarists are Bucket and Bumble and my favorite solo albums from any of the GN'R members have to be the Tommy Stinson solo records but the amount of work a project involving Slash and Duff would bring, is not something Izzy is interested in, and that is ok, he made his money, sold what he needed to sell and now gets to live his happy ending doing whatever it is he wants to do on his terms. Nothing wrong with that, I'm not putting him down, I'm just saying that if he wanted the amount of work that big projects like these carry, he would have done them long ago.

I still don’t believe that even if Axl would be fine with just releasing old stuff like the two singles, Slash would be content merely with that. I refuse to believe he returned to the band only for the buck and doesn’t care about the legacy at all. Hell, he could pay off his alimony even without the millions from GN’R. And above all – he’s the kind of guy who wants to see results, i.e. his own music. Thinking he’d be satisfied just with playing some replacements’ 20-year old demos on a new, highly anticipated album of his own lifetime signature band is deluded. There’s bound to be something else cooking than just rehashed CD shelf material a la Silkworms and Hard School.

Nahh, he gets to release his own music with his own band on his own terms, and while he's essential to GN'R's old albums I don't get the feeling that it was ever his band, just the biggest band that he was a part of, so maybe that's why he's so content with the situation, he gets to do the type of music that he likes without having to answer to nobody like he used to with GN'R plus he gets to do all of this huge shows and make money just by playing some songs that he didn't wrote. Plus is not like he's gonna risk losing the gig over a petty fight with Axl when he can just channel his creativity and energy somewhere else, they're not kids anymore.

I doubt it. Chinese Democracy is better than any of Slash’s solo work. VR had a few good songs but there again, Slash was working with a top notch vocalist. So, maybe he was the one needing a crutch?

dude, I like CD Better than any Slash work post Guns, in fact is my favorite GN'R Album, but Axl did had the help of a lot of people, Bumblefoot, Buckethead, Finck, Stinson, Freese.... The dude was working with really talented individuals.

  4. the thing is we didn't even know about these songs a few years ago, and they existed for a really long time and we didn't know about them, we didn't know anything about Eye on You, Perhaps, State of Grace... etc.

What I mean is that is very likely that there are many things we don't know about, we're just fans not insiders so it makes sense we don't know everything the band records or does.

  5. fuck that. That woman carved open another human being and tried to steal her baby, she deserves what she got. People need to take care of their own mental health somehow, but such barbarous acts should be punished with more than just locking them up.

they don't deserve the money spend on them.

The 2014 tour was the highest of expectations and optimism I had for anything of significance to happen. If I recall correctly, that was the year that the tour ended with another Vegas residency. Rumours were rampant, there was talks of Bumblefoot leaving and not enjoying playing the same shit for years. Suddenly we get that out there, Axl pulls out fucking Yesterdays and Prostitute during the Vegas stint. I feel that was a last ditch effort to keep Ron on board.

Also, this one I can't recall for sure, but didn't it come out after the reunion that 2015 was the year Axl was ready for another album before Bumble left and Ashba followed shortly afterwards? I could be wrong in the Ashba part, but I feel something around that time made Axl pivot from "New album let's go" to "K Beta call Slash" and I'd love to know that someday.

Reunion wise, I'm beyond happy I got to see them in 2017. I never thought I'd personally see Slash and Axl share the stage, so that was a dream come true moment for sure. 3 years later, I'm over it until anything new comes out.

me as well. I was hyped back then, too bad things couldn't go in a different direction.

I was really disappointed by the return of Slash and Duff because I wanted to hear what the Bumble/Ashba/Stinson/Fortus/Dizzy crew were gonna whip together with Axl.

Also, I’d rather have Frank Ferrer as drummer, ahead of Sorum or Adler.

and finally, 2011-2012 was my favorite time to be a fan so far (saw them four times, and got to hang with the band after the 2012 show in AC.)

this pretty much. many of my favorite shows came from those days. 2012 Philly was gold and way better than 2016.

    Hardschool

Dub Suplex (a simpler version instrument-wise, maybe)

    MaME

    Atlas

    Oklahoma

Going Down (Duff on vocals, w. a killer Slash solo)

    Zodiac

    Perhaps

    State of Grace

    Devious Bastard

+1 or 2 songs from scratch would make a killer album.

Why Duff on vocals? Either leave Tommy on vocals as a cameo or have Axl do the vocals alone.

  9. Honestly... Hell yeah.

    Women Rule the World

    Argentina

    Dash

    Invisible

Don't Know Who To Pray To Anymore

    Sleepwalking.

With Axl any of this songs could be potential singles. Problem is finding the balance between their styles. I think Bumble learned a lot from his time with GN'R and could probably bend to Axl's will of needed, but if they did release something together (as in the two of them) then they have to find some common ground to work on. Dash with Axl seems like a dream come true for me.
