  1. Afford Axl to live like a king? Excuse me mr. communist, but that's how it works. A concert is also a job, requires money. Internet made music free which is a shame, because young people don't give the same value to music people from the old days give. To go to a store, buy an album, go home, open it, smell it, read every corner of the booklet, listen each and every song one by one. Now people just download 100 songs per day, barely listen to 50 WHILE they're doing other things. Yes Axl do deserve the money from concerts and from the record sales, it's the least we can do for him for everything he gave us through the years.

The Bieber/Crue comment is just to show that maybe some people here should go somehwre else. I don't dig any Slash material since he's first Snakepit album. Therefore Im not into a Slash related forum complaining and bitching like a fuckin' pussy, I just erased the asshole from my life. If any of you ain't happy with the current line up or whatever from the present, get the fuck out and go jerk off using the past but leave the ones who are happy about the present alone.

And I was being ironic (maybe not?!) about real fans to owe Axl an apology. Go search at the dictionary - I R O N Y.

  2. There have been a few/lot, some more serious then others, if you are not down with the Axl Rose story '87 - present day then I do not want to be the one to list all of his misdemeanors here.

For me, there's the biggest (?) obvious one, destroying the old band, I'm not trying to get into an argument here, i'm a big an Axl fan as anyone, but the rather overwhelming evidence is that it was his behaviour that led to the break up of the band, and that if he acted with a modicum of more decorum then the bad might have had a fighting chance, I don't think it's really up for debate. That's a sore one.

Another one that continues to leave a sour taste in the mouth, are the stories (factual) of him not starting the shows in South America in '10-'11(?) until 3am. Now that just sucks. To keep a stadium of people waiting for that long is disgraceful to perfectly honest. It would have been bad enough if was the all conquering original Gn'r, but knowing that this band packed far less of a punch, makes it worse.

Which ones do you have a hard time with?

If you think any fan might need to FORGIVE Axl... man you're in serious trouble. Deep shit ! Go get some kind of treatment. I see so many serious topics being locked or gone... this one should be one of those. And if you really think you should forgive Axl for something... go listen Justin Bieber or Motley Crue and forget about GN'R !

In the other hand... should Axl forgive the stupid fans he's got over the years? I think the real fans owe him an apology for all the shit we all read at the forums.

  3. ^^ Sorry about your shitty timing.

Elitist? Really? I knew a guy that saw Hendrix. I thought it was awesome. I didn't fucking whine about it.

Stop being a tool then, as we've all seen real GN'R.
    Youtube doesn't count.
Right, all of us who have seen Axl onstage have seen real Guns N' Roses

OK. You and volcano go ahead and PM each other back and forth telling yourselves that.

Ok were to begin with this fucking madness....

Guys it is 2014.......Guns N' Roses are currently embarking on a South American tour. What does this poster say? Metallica? Judas Priest? Motley Crue? Britney Spears? Elvis Presley?

    Guns-N-Roses.jpg

They have released an album called Chinese Democracy in 2008. What does the cover say?

    GNRchinesedemocracy.jpg

    This is Guns N' Roses:

Let me know if you guys need me to clear up any more confusions you may have.

    + 1 !

  4. My top five would be:

    TWAT - Bucket's Guitar solo

    CITR - Axl's backing vocals

Scraped - Axl's multiple vocals (not sure how to call it)

TIL - The beauty of Robin's solo with Axl's piano and everything else altogether

    Better - The heavy bridge

Anyway I could be here for hours just like many others speaking of the insane heavy guitar riffs + crazy drums of Riad, the rawness n' agressivity of CD (the song) as a whole thing, Axl's angry vocals and the cool changing riffs and parts of IRS, the complex way Madagascar works so well with all those movie lines getting together with the harmony of the song and the solo and with the lyrics, the smooth cool vibe + the great vocals of ITW, the powerful piece that is Shackler's with the psycho vocals mixed with heavy parts, rock parts and a part that is almost disco all mixed and working perfectly, the Sabbath vibe of Sorry with Bucket's solo that is more blues than anything else Slash ever did in Guns (in my humble opinion), the epic ending of Prostitute (drums are soooo perfect in this song, the piano at the chorus is intense as hell and the guitar solos... not to mention the vibe when it's over).

And the lyrics. So good to get a record that isn't 100% based on the same old same old sex, drugs, rn'r. And maybe that's one of the reasons some people don't get the album, because they don't understand the lyrics. Not that I do 100% but even Axl said that would be better if he didn't talk too much about it so people could have their own visions and ideas of the songs for themselves (he didn't say these specific words, but the idea was that, in one of the interviews of 2009 if I'm not mistaken).

Speaking of Chinese, Lars Ulrich said the other day that St. Anger will be their Sabbath's Born Again. Because when Born Again was released everybody hated, didn't understand it and now it's one of their biggest classics, even without Ozzy. Not here to discuss St Anger, but I do see CD the same way. In 5, 10, 15 years from now, this record will be among the biggest classics of the first decade of this century.

I still remember hardcore fans pissed of in 1991 about Use Your Illusion. I remember some people complaining about the "endless boring song without chorus" from Rock in Rio II - they were talking about Estranged, The same people who were about to have a heart attack when Estranged was back in the set list because now it's one of the band's best songs. Funny how some people need time to change.

I was watching Back to the Future. After the end of Michael J. Fox's guitar solo, people stare at him with a "what the fuck?!" look. He goes to the mike and says something like "Wow you're not ready for this yet". The same with Oh My God, with CD and probably with the next album.

  5. Can you imagine, GNR releasing a fan club single for the holidays!?

Most of you don't deserve anything...

So much hate. I mean... I don't get it. If you're not happy, go away. If you're happy, stay. The equation is easy. When I'm not happy with something I CAN change, I do my best to do it. if I can't, I'll leave, With all this negative comments all over the place does any of you believe this will make Axl release somehting? If I was him, I would consider to never release something again just to see those fuckers pissed off.

I already said it once here. I was a big Skid Row fan at the late 80's to early 90's. When Bach was out, I kept on digging his solo work but thought the new shit from Skid Row was just... shit. So instead of losing time at Skid Row related forums, I just keep on with Bach. The same should happen to unhappy widows from the old days and frustrated fans that can't wait for a new record (and it's been ONLY 5 years since Chinese Democracy has been released, many bands take more time than this) - not happy? Leave the buiding fuckers!

  6. It's the biggest piece of shit related to GNR (all eras) on the internet.

With so much bullshit around it's a hard call... but I guess it's at my top 5 ! lol Ok, it's offcial. You're right.

  7. It's great that we get to hear something, Robin & Buckethead remained silent on the whole thing. At least now we're getting a little insight.

But I really couldn't care less if he did leave, it's just a touring band and there are plenty of guitarists that can fill his shoes.

How can you be so sure you're hearing the truth? And how come do you blame other people's silence when there's nothing to say?

The "little insight" you wanna hear just gives people and the bad press more reasons to bother Axl, to blame Axl. It's ridiculous to say the least.

If you're not happy, deal with it - complain, go for your rights, etc. But do it to the ones who aren't making you happy. Fans don't have anything to do with it. I don't think it's a professional thing to go out there and speak to the press about it.

Ron probably knows how unfair the press is with Guns and with Axl. But maybe he haven't realized yet that such comments can hurt both the band and Axl.

  8. Issue is: why in hell to put any energy into something that will bring the past back if the intention is the other way around? www.gunsnroses.com should just kick ass into newer stuff and fuck Paradise City. That website is so negative as regards the current band or any incarnation of the band since 1998/Rio III.

  9. I personally don't get Paradise City. I know its feed comes mainly from fans. But still... it's an official channel of the band promoting the old band / former members.

If they spend half of their time and efforts used on Paradise City to work on www.gunsnroses.com would be much better, not to mention that it would promote the current band instead of the past.

Axl has spent many many years fighting to make things work with Guns and to bury what's left from the past as regards former members and others - so do the fans who are into Guns N' Roses in the new century. I don't think it's fair to Axl, to the band and to the fans to have Paradise City around. I respect the work that has been done there but I don't get it.

That's my take on PC: I just don't get it. I guess it's supposed to be fan driven with content? Either way, there's just no rhyme or reason to it.

I wonder how much Axl knows about Paradise City. I just can't swallow something that is pro old Guns, that comes from the band.

  10. Althrough I miss Bucket a lot, I really like Ron. But I don't think he's right about going public with all this stuff. If he's got issues with the management and or with the band, deal with it in a private way. It's not cool to all the people inside the GN'R camp and it's not cool to the fans. Many here say it's cool what's he's doing and that he's the real deal. I'm not saying he is or he's not. What I'm saying is that he's provoking fans against the band - and some fans against him. I remember one conversation I had with Ron and DJ at a hotel in Rio, back in 2010. There was this stupid fan saying all good things about Slash in front of them and me and another guy started defending them and Bucket and Robin. Then Ron said that there was enough room for everyone and each one of them had its time, etc and there was no reason for hate and others. I just wonder why can't he see that his attitude towards these subjects he's bringing to the table are also bringing hate and confusion. If he ends up quitting someday, then he does whatever he wants. But while he's inside...

As a band member myself, I wouldn't complain about the rest of my band to others than my own band (even though I'm talking about a shitty garage band and not one of the biggest bands in the world). And if I take this thing to my work... I don't complain about my work with others. If I'm not happy I'll talk to my boss and if I'm not successful, I'll leave. There's no point to go public or to reach a third part that isn't part of my band or my work. If I have an issue in my band, I'll talk to them. If I have an issue at my work, I'll talk to my boss. I won't complain to others. It's pointless. I just don't get it. I hope things end up ok for everyone.

  11. If you find happiness from someone that won't release music for those that made him a happily rich man, you should search for happiness a little closer to reality.

And you should find a band that releases crap albums every year in order to get your happiness because seems like you ain't got any here.

Feel free to keep the bashing I'm outta here. Assholes. Thought for a second there were fans around.

  12. newgnr was my first gnr site that i joined. I though it was great and had some really cool people. However, it was very quiet at times so I created my account here.

I miss the gnronline / Live Era official forum. Good old days!

I've been away from cd.com and newgnr for a long time and thought this place was maybe a little less darker and less negative but seems like it's the same shit.

Then leave. You are the one who is really being negative to others here.

Nobody wants to donate money to help a guy who is worth 150 million dollars when there are millions of other more worthy people that could use our money.

Your obsession with a rock singer is what's creepy.

If helping someone who brings happiness to you is a creepy thing you should review your life.

  13. I couldn't care less about attention pal. I probably care less about attention than the majority of you care about Axl.

If I wanted attention I would write down my name here and answer personal questions. I don't give a damn. I just think it's the right thing to do. If you don't, just go away (unless YOU Need attention).

You know what? Fuck it. If any of you think it's a good idea, let me know via PM.

Good old times those back then when fans were fans.

  14. The damage if any is already done. Any hurt caused will have been inflicted by the sale in the first place and the content being made readable on the web. If there is anything he does not want sold there are agents who will anonymously bid on your behalf. He also has potential grounds to take legal action against the auction house if he wished as publishing the content of personal correspondence is a legal grey area.

Lastly I doubt the sum total of these forums would raise enough for everything.

Damage is not entirely done yet. If the right people get their hands on this stuff, it'll never show up on the internet.

If they do something... GREAT ! But if they don't, WHY NOT?

Ok maybe it's a lot of money, maybe we can't do it. But we'll never know if we don't try.

  15. It's a really nice idea but I'm not entirely sure he wouldn't be pissed off at the gesture. Not sure why I think this, just a hunch. I don't think it would be the delighted child receiving Christmas gift scenario that we might fondly imagine.

I agree it's not a nice gift to give (lol). And maybe he won't ever see this, maybe the GN'R camp destroys it before. But I guess that, worse than "not a nice gift to receive" is to know that all this stuff is spread around the world in the hands of many unknown people.
